Oxford Diecast Land Rover Defender LWB - British Gas (N)

Land Rover Defender LWB - British Gas (N) Land Rover introduced the Defender in the early 1980s as a rugged, versatile four-wheel drive, all terrain vehicle and with cargo capacity for a wealth of equipment or baggage, the Defender could handle anything. Registered E203 PWR from 1987, our long wheel base version is decorated in the signature blue and white livery of British Gas at that time.  Deployed with British Gas North Eastern, as depicted on the cab doors, the body is white with royal blue lower body and roof and featuring fine lighter blue/aquamarine stripes along the waist.  The interior is black and exterior trim features both black and silver finish. The matt black radiator grille has the Land Rover 110 name above in the centre while the spare wheel is fixed to the centre of the back door.

Oxford Diecast Ford Cortina Mk5 - Cosmos Blue (1:76)

Ford Cortina Mk5 - Cosmos Blue (1:76) Our model represents the last in the Ford of Great Britain Cortina series in real life, which dominated the British road scene from the early 1960s to the early 1980s. Ford launched the Mk 5 - an upgraded Mk IV - in August 1979. Marketed as a medium sized family car with prices starting at £3,475, the visible differences included revised headlights incorporating larger indicators, a slatted front grille, a flattened roof, slimmer C-pillars and revised vent cover.  The interior also benefited from detailed changes, including the dashboard and centre console. Improvements were also made to the engine range resulting in better fuel economy and power output. The 2.3-litre V6 engine was given electronic ignition and a slight boost in power output to 116 bhp, compared with the 108 bhp Mark IV. Ford also added improved corrosion protection on Mark V models, which is probably why more have survived. Our 1:76 scale vehicle tooling incorporates the upgraded external features of the real car and is registered FOL 414V from 1979. It is decorated in bright blue with black roof, pillars and window surrounds.  The black finish also extends to the side sills and radiator grille.  The interior is moulded in a rich brown with black trim while a final exterior detail sees the 1.6 GL  printed in silver on the boot lid. Grand Luxury indeed.

Oxford Diecast Ford Anglia - Monaco Red (1:76)

Ford Anglia - Monaco Red (1:76) The Ford Motor Company introduced their fourth generation of the Anglia name, the 105E, in 1959 characterised by its unique backward slanting rear window. When it ceased manufacture in 1967, over 1 million cars had rolled off its Dagenham production line.  It came in various body options and our Oxford’s two-door saloon version is based on what Ford described as a small family car.  It sported a 997 cc engine and was capable of a top speed of 73.8 mph, accelerating from 0-60 in 26.9 seconds. With fuel consumption of 41 miles per gallon, it cost £610 on the road. Here we see this model dressed in a vibrant red colour scheme with a smart white flash along the sides. The interior seating, dashboard and steering wheel are also red. Registered HJN 662D, our model dates back to 1966. A silver trim to the wheels, grille and bumpers also includes a final flourish with the Ford Anglia ‘Deluxe’ signature across the boot.

Oxford Diecast Bedford CF Van - Eastern Gas (1:76)

Bedford CF Van - Eastern Gas (1:76) The Bedford CF small commercial van was first introduced by Bedford - in 1969. It succeeded the  Bedford CA van and was seen as a competitor to rival Ford’s Transit van. It was the last vehicle to be designed solely by Vauxhall and was one of the most popular light commercials of the day due its versatility, which included it being a template for a caravanette, notably the Bedford Dormobile. With longitudinal front engine and rear wheel drive and transmission of 2/4/5 manual to a 3-speed General Moors automatic, the CF Van was given a facelift in 1980, which introduced a 2.3L diesel engine as an alternative to the petrol engine. Our very useful CF Van makes its latest entrance in a 1980s Gas livery, this time as used by the utility company’s Eastern branch. With a white body and royal blue roof and white bonnet, the model has been masked along the sides and rear with royal blue, light blue and aquamarine stripes. The bumpers are also white and the Eastern Gas logo features in white on the cab and rear doors.  Our Gas van is registered MMJ 153P from 1975.

Austin Mini - Speedwell Blue (1:76) The much loved and great classic Austin Mini has been a motoring icon since it was launched in 1959.  This British car, designed by Alec Issigonis and his talented team, set the benchmark and definitely the trend for nippy vehicles ideally suited for towns and cities, where its versatility and ability to park in small spaces made it a must for ordinary young and old to rich and famous motorists alike. Our 1:76 scale miniature comes decorated in pale blue with white roof with an early registration plate – 285 JYB. The interior and the seats are moulded in mid grey with a black steering wheel. The exterior trim is silver including the bumpers, window surrounds and wipers while the radiator grille is silver and black. The colourful Austin badge sits centrally on the edge of the bonnet and the trim is rounded off by the Austin Seven signature across the boot.

Oxford Diecast Austin 1300 GT - Aqua (1:76)

Austin 1300 GT - Aqua (1:76) BMC unveiled the front engine, front-wheel drive Austin/Morris 1300 GT at the London Motor Show in 1969. Designed by the legendary Alec Issigonis, key features included a 1275 cc twin carburettor engine, a black full width grille, black vinyl roof and a thick black metal strip along the side, all designed to convey a sporty image. In 1971 the Mark III version appeared, lasting in production until 1974 when the range was superseded by the Austin Allegro and the Vanden Plas 1500. A popular model in our Oxford 1:76 series, this colour scheme on the Austin 1300 GT is a delightful watery shade of blue with black roof and lots of silver masking. Registered RVB 740L from 1972, our 1:76 scale replica sports a steel blue interior with black dashboard and steering wheel. Further details include the Austin name is printed at the top of the black and silver radiator grille, with its GT status is printed in red on the grille and also behind the rear side windows. The boot lid carries the 1300 GT marque to the right of the rear registration plate.

James Bond 007 'On Her Majesty's Secret Service' Aston Martin DBS  The first new Aston Martin driven by James Bond since the debut of the DB5 is the Aston Martin DBS in On Her Majesty’s Secret Service. Other than a telescopic rifle concealed in the glove compartment, this car is gadget free. Designed and built as the successor to the Aston Martin DB6, the DBS was introduced in 1967. While deviating from the more classic look of previous Aston Martin cars, the DBS featured trademark design aspects such as the bonnet scoop, wire wheels, and side air vents with a stainless-steel bridge that were synonymous with earlier vehicles from the manufacturer.  Though this incarnation of the DBS was retired in 1972, the name has since been resurrected twice by Aston Martin on a model produced between 2007 and 2012, and a brand-new incarnation that is available now. - 1:36 Scale

Ford Cortina Mk5 2.0 Ghia S Sirius Red (1:43) The Cortina modelled was ordered by Harry Cooper, the MD of a Derbyshire-based joinery firm, and built in Germany in late 1979. It was supplied by Hanger Ford, Wellford Road, Leicester, on 14th February 1980, and aside from being finished in a rare colour that was only offered for a short time, it is unusual in that he ordered every available option.  These included a sump guard, remote boot release, cruise control and economy lights embedded in the speedometer. Mr Cooper sold it when it was almost five years old, and its second owner kept it for twenty-five years, asking the supplying dealer to fit a Type-9 5-speed Sierra gearbox early in his tenure. By 2009, it had covered 120,000 miles and was purchased by South Wales-based enthusiast Alan Downs for £1,000. He initially used it daily before deciding to restore this uniquely specified car. He stripped it completely and was pleased to find it only needed one new front wing, before having it resprayed.  He fitted as many Ford new old stock parts as possible, powder-coated numerous components, and returned it to the road in spring 2012. It won several prizes at Ford shows but a change in his family circumstances led to its purchase by Ford enthusiast Bruce DiMario from Dorset, in 2013. He rebuilt the noisy back axle before selling the now perfect car to longstanding North Wales-based Ford collector Ian Mills, in May 2014.

Star Trek - USS Enterprise NCC-1701 60th Ann Edition (Chrome) Debuting in 1966, Star Trek has gone on to become a legendary science fiction franchise that spans multiple television series and feature films. This very special chrome plated die-cast model of the U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701 is a single run Limited Edition to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the Original Series, presented in a premium finish collector box with a silver holographic foil finish.  The release is limited to 3000 units worldwide. The inner lid is inspired by the dedication plaque found on the Bridge of the Enterprise, and each model comes with a numbered collector card as well as a cotton glove to avoid fingerprints on the model when handling. One of the most iconic science fiction spaceships to appear in popular culture, the U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701 was conceived by Gene Roddenberry and designed by Matt Jefferies with the intention of looking unlike anything seen in the genre until that point.  Several models of the ship were built for filming, with the largest 11-foot-long model currently on prominent display in the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum in Washington D.C.

McDonnell Douglas Phantom II FG.1 XV582 'Black Mike' No.111 Squadron RAF Leuchars ‘Black Arrows’ Aerobatic Display Team (1:48) When it comes to RAF aircraft which have benefitted from the application of special commemorative schemes, there’s one machine which still enjoys legendary status amongst Britain’s army of aviation enthusiasts, Phantom FG.1 ‘Black Mike’.  An aircraft which had recently transferred to the care of RAF No.111 Squadron at Leuchars, XV582 was selected to receive this unique scheme as the squadron wanted to mark both the RAF service of the Phantom, and the heritage of their famous unit, heritage which included the ‘Black Arrows’ Aerobatic Display Team.  Between 1955 and 1960, this team flew aerobatic demonstrations in their gloss black painted Hawker Hunter jets at Airshows all over Britain, including the Farnborough show in 1958, where the team captured a world record by looping 22 Hunters in formation.  In commemoration of this, XV582 was given this smart all-over gloss black scheme, initially for just a static ‘At Home’ Airshow appearance at Leuchars in 1989, but proved so popular that she exhausted her remaining airframe hours the following year as Treble One squadron’s display aircraft.  Known as ‘Black Mike’ because of her colour and her squadron letter, XV582 became the aircraft every RAF pilot wanted to fly, but with her Airshow commitments and low remaining flying hours, only a fortunate few managed to do so.  Making her final flight on 22nd September 1990, ‘Black Mike’ was retired to become a static star of many a Leuchars Airshow, but always retaining her iconic status with aviation enthusiasts.

Douglas™ AC-47 Gunship 43-49770 'Spooky 71' Vietnam 1969 (1:72)   In the dark night skies over Vietnam, a terrifying new weapon had been introduced by American forces trying to protect their troops on the ground, a combination of older aeroplanes and cutting edge technology that resulted in the creation of fire spewing dragons capable of laying down 6,000 rounds of suppressing fire every minute.  The venerable Douglas C-47 Skytrain had been modified to become one of the most feared weapons of the conflict, however, ‘Spooky’ crews wouldn’t always have it their own way. On the night of 24th February 1969, the crew of gunship 43-49770 ‘Spooky 71’ had been called to provide fire support for troop under attack at Long Binh, but whilst doing so, their aircraft had taken a direct mortar round hit in the right wing, resulting in a gaping hole and the aircraft being peppered with 3,500 shrapnel holes.  The aircraft lurched violently and the fire crew were thrown off their feet, all suffering from multiple shrapnel wounds. Bleeding profusely, Airman First Class John Levitow could see one of his crewmates was in danger of falling out of the open cargo door, and fought through the pain of his wounds to drag him to a safer position.  Unfortunately, he also saw that the flare his colleague had been trying to throw out of the aircraft prior to the mortar hit had blown back into the cabin and was smoking, about to detonate. He threw his body on top of the flare and slowly ushered it towards the open door using his last reserves of strength, rolling it into the night sky seconds before it detonated.  For his heroic, selfless actions which saved both his aircraft and crewmates, John Levitow was rightfully awarded the Medal of Honor. Despite the drama and devastation in the night sky above the Long Binh US Army post, the aircraft did manage to make it back to its home base safely, where ground crews were able to assess the damage from the mortar strike, and count every one of the 3,500 shrapnel holes which peppered the wings and fuselage of the aircraft.

He stayed with his battered Mustang to claim a second Focke Wulf and two Messerschmitt Bf109s destroyed, bringing his total victory score to 15.5 aircraft. These would be Whisner's final victories of the Second World War, but his combat career was far from over.    He went on to become one of only seven US airmen to achieve ace status during the Korean War, this time flying the North American F-86A/E Sabre jet, cementing his place among the most accomplished fighter pilots in American military history.

The final artistic touches were completed during the Group Commander's absence from base, allowing the dedicated ground crew to fully express their talents.  Notably, "Virginia Marie" became the only Lightning in the 433rd Fighter Squadron to receive its complete intended paint scheme, making this aircraft a unique and celebrated example of wartime nose art and unit pride.

His legacy endures as a testament to skill, dedication and the dawn of aerial warfare.

However, unlike its European counterparts which proved highly adaptable to successive upgrades, the Zero's design would eventually be surpassed by more advanced Allied fighters.    The Japanese Navy's nomenclature system designated this aircraft as the A6M, identifying it as the 6th carrier fighter type to enter service, with the M denoting Mitsubishi as manufacturer. The Type 21 variant introduced a crucial innovation: folding wing tips that enabled more efficient operations from Japanese navy carriers. Approximately 3,700 of these aircraft were produced, with manufacturing split between Mitsubishi and Nakajima.    Formed on 1st October 1943, the 381st Kokutai operated as a fighter-bomber unit supporting Japanese ground forces engaged in brutal combat against American and Australian troops.    By May 1944, the unit found itself fighting a desperate attritional battle against superior Allied air forces in West Papua, with reinforcements a distant hope and the outcome grimly inevitable.

Oxford Diecast Burrell Scenic Showmans Loco Winston Churchill (1:76)

Burrell Scenic Showmans Loco Winston Churchill As countrywide fairs and steam rallies roll in for the summer season, it is a wonderful opportunity to take another trip down memory lane with Oxford’s Showmans series. Our new release on the Burrell Scenic Loco is absolutely splendid too. The colourful steam locomotive started its real life in 1922, commissioned by Holland Bros. It was designed with a longer boiler and an electric dynamo, especially for powering fairground use. It was delivered to them to power Albert Holland’s Peacock and Dragon Scenic Ride. The locomotive was originally named Prince Albert which was changed in preservation to Winston Churchill. Around 1952, the late Eric Middleton bought the locomotive directly from the Hollands in Swadlincote, Derbyshire for about £250. Having lain derelict and abandoned for some years, the locomotive was in very bad condition. However, Eric restored the engine completely and sold it to the Hardwick family who rallied it extensively in the 1980s. It is now owned by the Marchington family.  The 1:76 scale model appears in crimson with a white roof and black masking. Dropped shadow lettering along the edge of the roof promote the Holland’s Golden Dragons; the Winston Churchill nameplate features in gold and red on the locomotive side.  Also in red and gold, the front of the boiler carries the customary C Burrell & Sons Engineers Ltd name and The “Burrell Road Locomotive” lettering. It is estimated that each of the Oxford Showmans series models requires at least 100 printing operations and it is easy to see why.  There is illustrious decoration and colour throughout, resulting in another desirable steam locomotive to light up your fairground diorama. - OO/1:76 Scale

Oxford Diecast Grumann Avenger White 83 USS Petrof Bay 1945 (1:72)

Grumann Avenger White 83 USS Petrof Bay 1945 The Grumman Avenger was the British version of the American TBF-1 Avenger and the RAF used these under a lend-lease agreement.  However, our latest release is an Avenger that served with the US forces towards the end of WWII in combat with the Japanese in the Pacific. It was classed as a naval aircraft torpedo bomber and our 1:72 scale Grumman is a replica of the bomber flying with 76 Squadron from the aircraft carrier USS Petrof Bay. It comprised a single engine monoplane with capacity for up to a four-man crew. The livery on this model is quite striking with its midnight blue and dark sea grey two-tone upper side and white underbody.  Graphics are in white, including a four leaf clover on the tail fin. The nose art features a provocative and colourful ‘Blopsy’. Daimler Fleetline DMS146 London Transport Route 267 Hampton Court Stn The Daimler Fleetline DMS had its origins in a nationwide move towards One-Man Operation (OMO) buses in the late 1960s and early 1970s, replacing the tried-and-tested ‘driver and conductor’ crews that had been the staple for many years. London Transport (LT) was no exception, and as such began to explore the benefits that OMO might bring by trialling Leyland Atlanteans and Daimler Fleetlines. It was the latter that would go on to form the basis of an all-new London bus – the DMS. The first of the new DMSs entered service in January 1971 working on Routes 95 and 220. They were powered by Gardner 6LXB engines and bodied by Park Royal Vehicles, with full OMO considerations included. Passengers would enter through a set of double folding doors at the front, opposite the driver, and immediately pass through an Automatic Fare-Collection (AFC) turnstile (located over the nearside front wheel arch) to gain access to the seating. Exit was via a second set of doors located centrally on the nearside of the body. Building on the popularity of the ‘Routemaster’ tag, London Transport named the new type the ‘Londoner’, but it never caught on, and they were simply referred to as Fleetlines or DMSs. A total of 2,646 would be built between 1970 and 1978; the design evolving during that time, culminating in the B20 type. However, the DMS was never popular with passengers owing to the slower boarding times caused by the AFC equipment, and they proved equally unpopular with garage staff, so much so that the first started to be withdrawn the year after the last was delivered. Our new models represent those built in the first batch, identified by the narrower position of the headlights. This example is DMS146, another ‘open’ rondel DMS, but this time carrying the white band applied to later examples in this batch, which helped break up the wall of red. The model is depicted as working a Route 267 service to Hampton Court Station. Sunbeam Rapier Mk.III Velvet Green/Sage Green Modelled on the Sunbeam Rapier produced by the Rootes Group between 1955 and 1976, our Oxford 1:76 scale model is based on the two door Series III which was introduced in 1959. Improvements over its predecessors included modified side grilles, a re-styled number plate recess on the boot and a revised side flash with the Rapier logo towards the rear. Windscreen pillars were finer, increasing the windscreen area while inside, the seats and control panels were also upgraded.  Our 1:76 scale model appears featuring these refinements in another of the Rapier’s authentic bright two-tone colour schemes with a deep green body and pale green  masked roof, side flash and wheel inserts.  The interior seating is moulded in a soft muted green. Ford Transit Mk.4 RAC The Ford Transit Mk4 represented the 3rd generation of the vehicle in real life, spanning the years from 2000 to 2006.  This vehicle was different in that it had been designed in the USA and contained many cutting edge features; it came with automatic transmission; front or rear wheel drive; more cargo space and greater towing capacity. An option on rear wheel drive models included controls mounted on the dashboard, a specially adapted manual mode, tow-haul mode, economy mode and winter mode. All of these plus points would have made it an ideal vehicle for the RAC, whose key role is helping motorists in distress in all conditions and sometimes over difficult terrain. Our model is registered VE03 GGZ from 2003 and is decorated in the ultra modern bright orange with red and white chevron back with a blue and white panel promoting the RAC. To the sides and front, the printed information is in white against the orange ground, as well as a dark blue and white panel masked along the sides. A notable feature is the clever way in which the offside front wing chevron decals have been printed over the curved surface – it is absolutely flush!  The van interior is moulded completely black. A final tooling modification on this release sees the addition of a roof bar positioned right at the back of the roof – authentic down to the final detail! - 1:76 Scale

Vauxhall Astra Mk2 GTE 16V, Rembrandt Silver (1:43) Product Information: The GTE 16V modelled was originally registered as a ‘Vauxhall Fleet Management’ car with Vauxhall Motors Ltd, Kimpton Road, Luton, Bedfordshire on 29th November 1990. It was finished in Rembrandt Silver, one of the more unusual colours offered.  Like all 16V GTE’s, it featured GM’s futuristic Liquid Crystal Display dashboard so drivers could see the revs rapidly rising on the car’s magnificent 2-litre DOHC 16-valve ‘red top’ engine, a characterful rev-hungry unit that gave the GTE its appealingly raucous demeanour.  It went on to owners based in Kent, Dorset, County Durham, and Bedfordshire, before being purchased by Bedfordshire-based enthusiast, Lee Proctor, a former Vauxhall employee and subsequent car bodyshop proprietor, in late March 2013. The car had covered 125,000 miles and was complete, but in poor condition. It was bought by Lee as a restoration project, and he soon embarked on a three-year nut-and-bolt structural and mechanical rebuild to concours standard, in which he used as many new old-stock original parts as possible.  He did most of the work himself, bringing the car back to original specification except for the fitting of an ‘Astra Champion’ leather interior, which he had retrimmed. Lee enjoyed driving and showing the finished car, but in November 2020 he sold it to fellow enthusiast and Mk2 Astra Owners Club member, Derbyshire-based Clive Emery.  He has added some original equipment finishing touches and enjoys using it to attend classic car events. This die-cast model represents this car in its restored condition, making it a delightful addition to your Vanguards collection.

Research and development of a cost effective alternative resulted in the M3 “Grease Gun.” Produced by the General Motor’s Guide Lamp Division, it was a stamped, sheet-metal surrogate for the primarily milled Thompson. With its riveted and welded construction, the M3 was originally designed as a disposable small arm, to be used and then discarded once it became inoperative. This simple weapon permitted the installation of a conversion kit – a replacement bolt and barrel, recoil springs, and a magazine adapter would change the weapon’s original .45 caliber to that of 9 mm Parabellum.   - 1:30 Scale

Leyland Atlantean Open Top Devon General Gift Set The well-known bus operator, Devon General, began operating regular open top bus tours of the Torbay area in the summer of 1955 using vehicles converted from conventional double deckers. However, in 1961 these were replaced by a fleet of nine specially built Leyland Atlanteans with Metro-Cammell bodies, each seating 75 passengers. The nine were named after historical naval and maritime figures such as Sir Francis Drake and Sir John Hawkins, and soon earned the nickname ‘Sea Dogs’; a term Devon General even adopted for its own marketing. In their distinctive cream and red livery, they became a familiar sight on the 12A-12D routes serving Torquay, Paignton, Brixham, Babbacombe and Kingswear, and carried generations of holidaymakers for the next 20 years. They were built as convertibles, with detachable roofs, meaning that they could operate as normal double deckers during the low season. Upon nationalisation in 1969 Devon General became part of the new National Bus Company (NBC) but was amalgamated with the Western National Omnibus Company (itself part of the NBC) two years later. Under NBC the Sea Dogs were repainted into a poppy red and white livery, and also converted to one-man operation. Corgi Range Rover Classic Velar, Tuscan Blue, 2 door (1:43)

Range Rover Classic Velar, Tuscan Blue, 2 door (British Motor Museum) It’s appropriate that the first model to be produced using CORGI Vanguards’ new tooling for the original Range Rover is YVB 153H, chassis number 35500003A; effectively chassis number 3. This vehicle was the first Range Rover that came off the production line to the final production specification, and was one of 28 pre-production chassis, but only 27 bodyshells, as one driveable chassis was kept for development work.  It was hand-finished ahead of the two earlier chassis numbers by 17th of December 1969, because photographer Alan Luckett wanted a blue car for launch photography. It also starred in the brilliantly titled dealership launch film, ‘A Car for All Reasons’. It was retained by Rover until early 1972 then sold to William Ellis Garages, Oswestry, and by the late 1980s was owned by Norwegian photographer Per Lochen.  As the British Motor Industry Heritage Trust’s vehicle collection was growing in the early 1990s, ahead of their 1993 move to what is now the British Motor Museum at Gaydon, they realised they lacked an early Range Rover, and 153H was tracked down. In late 1991, a deal was struck with Lochen to acquire this historically important car, which by this time was in a poor state.  It was restored to its original ‘launch’ specification in 2006 by the Museum, and has since featured in anniversary displays, as well as TV programmes and magazine articles. - 1:43 Scale

Corgi Range Rover Classic, Lincoln Green, 4 door (1:43)

Range Rover Classic, Lincoln Green, 4 door Rover built a four-door prototype Range Rover in 1972, but British Leyland’s finances ensured it was never produced, although various specialists offered four-door conversions. After the success of the first two-door “In Vogue”, it became obvious that the utilitarian Range Rover could be moved upmarket, and a four-door model was announced in June 1981.  To publicise this, and the newly available automatic transmission, Rover launched the limited edition four-door automatic ‘In Vogue’ Series 2 in August 1982, which was only available in Sierra Silver or Nevada Gold. Only 250 of each colour were made, and they all featured alloy wheels, distinctive graphics, a branded cool box, wooden door cappings, and a Philips stereo. This example was completed on 21st July 1982 and immediately dispatched to Skinners Motors Ltd, St Leonards-on-Sea, East Sussex. It was displayed in the dealership before first owner, Kent-based farmer Mr Cooper, took ownership until New Year’s Day 1983. He paid Skinners’ subsidiary, Bexhill Motors, £16,000 for his 17th Range Rover. He’d bought his first in 1970, then ordered a new one annually. This was, however, his retirement car, so he rust-proofed it, serviced it on his four-post ramp, and retained all the accessories and paperwork. It was purchased by ‘The Dunsfold Collection’ of Land Rover related vehicles in November 2010, and remains in excellent original condition, wearing its 80,000 miles lightly.  It has appeared in many TV programmes, magazine articles and live events, and now it is immortalised in die-cast form. Corgi Ford Fiesta Mk2 1.1L, Citrine Yellow (1:43)

Ford Fiesta Mk2 1.1L, Citrine Yellow The Fiesta modelled was supplied new by Ford main dealers Gilbert Rice Ltd, Sussex, and first registered on 31st January 1986. Its first four owners looked after it very well and used it sparingly. In the summer of 2016, it was offered for sale by well-known classic car dealers KGF Classic Cars, having covered 40,679 miles.  The mileage was confirmed by an accompanying history file containing a brochure, invoices and previous MOT certificates, as well as the original service wallet and handbook. Remarkably, the car’s grey ‘Fife’ trim was perfect, and it also still boasted its original dealership-stamped number plates, which is unusual as these often get damaged in low-speed parking incidents. It was purchased on 26th July 2016 by lifelong Mk2 Fiesta enthusiast Christian ‘Bisty’ Dann, a restaurateur from Cornwall who has grown up in a family that are passionate about classic cars. He christened her ‘Geraldine’ and created a popular TikTok account called ‘geraldinethefiesta’, which features films about Geraldine’s adventures in Cornwall and Bisty’s other classic, an American-built 1974 GMC van he uses to offer grilled cheese delicacies to the people of Falmouth.  In 2020, Geraldine needed some welding to pass her MOT and Bisty decided to have new sills fitted on both sides by local specialist Perranwell Garage, who also carried out some major engine work and various other jobs in order to make her as good as new in every respect. - 1:43 Scale

Corgi Ford Escort Mk2 RS2000, Carnival Red (1:43)

Ford Escort Mk2 RS2000, Carnival Red -1:43 This die-cast model is based on one of the oldest surviving UK-market examples of an RS2000, which was manufactured in Saarlouis, Germany, in December 1975. The first owner was Mike Collins, then RAF personnel, based at RAF Dishforth, Thirsk, North Yorkshire. He purchased it from the Ford RS dealership, Polar Service Garage, Barnsley on 12th January 1976, then registered it the following day.  It had ten further owners before the current custodian, well known North Wales-based Ford enthusiast Aled Hopwood, purchased it on 7th June 1996. He wasn’t initially aware of its rarity but was captivated by it and has amassed a comprehensive history file containing all the previous MOTs and tax discs, plus a list of previous owners. The car had covered 73,000 miles and was in excellent condition, and Aled enjoyed using it on several European tours, as well as the North Wales Snowdonia Tours and Lakes Tours. It was featured extensively in the book ‘Factory-Original Sporting Mk2 Escorts’, by Dan Williamson, with many detailed photographs of the car by Simon Clay being included in the RS2000 chapter. It has also appeared in Classic Ford Magazine.  In the summer of 2021, Aled embarked on a nut-and-bolt restoration to as-new condition. He returned the underside to its original dove grey paint before having it fully resprayed, although all the original panels and Beta Cloth interior were retained.  Aled proudly showed the finished car at the 2021 NEC Classic Motor Show.

Gloster Meteor F.Mk.8, WH480 'M', RAF Biggin Hill, 1953 A man destined to achieve great things as a member of the Royal Air Force, Yorkshireman John ‘Dusty’ Miller trained as a military pilot in America under the UK-US ‘Arnold’ Scheme, showing himself to be so proficient that he was retained as a flight instructor. He eventually joined an operational RAF squadron flying Beaufighters in an anti-shipping strike role, but advanced his career significantly during the early years of jet aviation.  Given command of No.41 Squadron at Biggin Hill, flying the Meteor jet from Summer 1951, his personal aircraft was one of the most colourful of that era, defending British airspace in style. Miller was one of the first RAF pilots forced to eject from his Meteor when a turbine blade failure caused an in-flight fire above Essex in April 1952. Once back flying, he continued his rise through the ranks.  With his potential for senior rank, Miller was forced to turn his back on ten years of flying jet fighters to take command of a Vickers Valiant nuclear bomber squadron, as his seniors wanted to take him away from what he was expert in to broaden his service experience.  During his time with the V-Bomber force, he was the officer responsible for introducing the Blue Steel air-launched nuclear stand-off missile into RAF service. When he left the RAF in 1969, he had achieved the rank of Air Commodore. This Gloster Meteor F.Mk.8 is a wonderful tribute to John 'Dusty' Miller, replicating the aircraft in excellent die-cast model form. - 1:72 Scale

Oxford Diecast Austin-Morris J4 Van - Blue (1:76)

The Morris Commercial J4 van was a 10 cwt (0.5 ton) forward control van which Morris Commercial launched in 1960. It quickly became the ‘go to’ vehicle for deliveries due to its style and capacity. As a result it was a familiar sight on UK roads decorated in the likes of Royal Mail, British Rail, the Police as well as by smaller firms as a general utility vehicle. Painted in a rich blue with no livery at all and so the effect focuses the eye on its styling. The silver exterior trim takes in the distinctive radiator grille, above which the Austin badge is printed in red on silver.  BMC of which Austin was also part, interchanged the Austin and Morris marques by using different badges, radiator grilles etc, one of which carried through to the J van as seen on this model. Registered 2417 BP, this version has dark blue wheels to match the body colour while the interior is moulded in black with dark blue dashboard. The double doors at the back would have made loading and unloading easy and the two small back windows incorporate a glazed effect, adding even more realism. - 1:76 Scale

Oxford Diecast Austin Mini Metro - British School of Motoring (1:76)

Austin Mini Metro - British School of Motoring Oxford’s Austin Mini Metro adds a bit of variety to the mix with this latest BSM livery, a familiar sight on the 1980s roads. How many of we experienced drivers have had to exercise patience when behind one of these in its day? Learner drivers of the 1980s would have found the Austin Mini Metro a very easy car to test their ability. It came as a 3-door hatchback - the subject of our Oxford tooling – or a 5 door model. The engine size was either a 1.0L or 1.3L with a 4-speed manual gearbox. The Mini Metro had front wheel drive and a top speed of 84 mph and if you were practising three point turns, reversing round corners or parking, it was very compact and easy to park, so was a particular favourite. The livery is pure nostalgia! The bright red body colour has a wide blue and white flash along the sides incorporating an outline of the map of Great Britain with white BSM lettering beneath. The red roof features the BSM L Driver beacon while along the line of the boot is their famous slogan Every SEVEN minutes someone passes with BSM. The interior of the car is moulded in black and it is registered KWC 332Y from 1982. The British School of Motoring still exists today although now under the auspices of the Automobile Association, offering driving lessons and instructor training amongst other things. - 1:76 Scale

Oxford Diecast DH Mosquito NF MkII P.G.Wykeham-Barnes. RAF No.23 Sqn. (1:72)

This 1:72 scale Oxford aircraft represents a No. 23 Squadron Mosquito which was deployed to RAF Luqa in Malta. The squadron was the first to use the Mosquito in the Mediterranean, having transferred there in December 1942. Its key role was to perform intruder and bomber escort missions attacking enemy  infrastructure in North Africa and Southern Italy, often flying low and fast. The Mosquito’s versatility played a vital part, with great success. Wing Commander Peter Wykeham-Barnes was the commanding officer at Luqa and was to become one of WWII’s famous Bomber Aces, surviving the conflict and highly decorated too. Born on 13 September 1915 in Sandhurst, Surrey, Peter Wykeham-Barnes joined the RAF as an aircraft apprentice in 1932. Later he became a cadet at RAF College, Cranwell and was commissioned in 1937. After a series of deployments at home and abroad, he took over 23 Squadron on Mosquito II night intruders, leading the unit out to Malta. Whilst with 23 Squadron his navigator was 116970 Flying Officer Geoffrey Ernest Palmer, DFC. Together, they were a formidable team with great successes against the Luftwaffe. Wykeham-Barnes ended the war with 3 and 1 shared biplane victories and a total of 14 and 3 shared destroyed. Post-war, he took an Air Ministry post followed by secondment to the USAF in Korea, where he flew night intruder sorties in B-26 Invaders of the 90th Bomber Group, USAF, and was awarded the US Air Medal.  He ended his career in UK defence  as Deputy Chief of the Air Staff and retired as Air Marshal Sir Peter Wykeham, KCB, DSO and Bar, OBE, DFC and Bar, AFC.  He died on 23 February 1995. With so much history behind it, our heroic model appears decorated in the night fighter garb of dark grey and dark green upper side and matt black underside with matt black nose, dorsal patch, guns and rear tyres. On the upper side, the No Step warning signs in red indicate the fragility of the structure in the area between the two engines which would not support any weight.  Also in red are the aircraft identity markings DZ230 and YP-A along the length of the fuselage. The RAF roundel also features a yellow outer circle to make it more easily visible to other friendly aircraft. The island of Malta was awarded the George Cross for its bitter battles against the enemy during WWII and without doubt the DH Mosquito played a great part in its success. - 1:72 Scale

AEC Routemaster RML2738 London Buses - Route 15A Upton Park The standard Routemaster bus was an undoubted success story for London Transport (LT), and its integral construction had kept LT at the forefront of new bus innovation. However, by the end of the 1950s, questions were being asked by the wider bus industry about whether a 64 seat double decker was commercially viable long-term, especially as the economics of bus operation became more challenging. Greater capacity was being called for. In 1961 LT ordered 24 new Routemasters, which would have an increased capacity of 72 seats. Like the 64 seaters, these new buses would be engineered by AEC at Southall, with body construction and assembly completed at Park Royal Vehicles. These new vehicles mechanically similar to their shorter cousins, sharing the same engines, brakes, transmission and electrical equipment. However, they were 2ft 4in longer than the standard Routemaster, having a small square window on the upper and lower decks where an additional bay had been added. A further 500 RMLs would be built; the first of this new batch being delivered on 1st July 1965, and the last entering service in February 1968. The RMLs would go on to serve London for the best part of the next four decades, finally being withdrawn from front line service in 2005. In fact, one historian would go as far as saying that the RML was “the most successful Routemaster variant ever devised.” Our model depicts RML2738 {SMK738F), a 1967-built example that started its London Transport career at Hanwell. In May 1985 it was selected to work Route 15 and 15A via Oxford Street, Bank and the Tower of London, and as such received a special livery with a yellow roof band and Route 15 advertising. It is in this condition that we have presented our model, complete with an Upton Park destination. The new models are based on EFE Road’s refined and updated RML tooling, and now feature such enhancements as bodyside panel lines and highly detailed liveries and advertisements. - 1:76 Scale

The 1:76 scale Hillman Minx MkIIIA, painted in a very regal dark red and mid grey. It is registered YDU 799 and features silver external trim and white wall tyres. The interior dashboard and seating are moulded in a deep red with pale grey steering wheel. In real life, this classic British saloon car of the 1950s and 1960s was manufactured by the Rootes Group with their in-house designed Audax body, the upgraded MkIIIA appearing in 1959 as a slightly larger vehicle than its predecessors.  It came with both manual and automatic transmission with the automatic option comprising a Smiths Easidrive system -the first production dual-clutch type, which was to carry it right up to 1970. - 1:76 Scale

Since the P-40 was a modified P-36 Hawk it was developed quickly and entered service in record time. The USAAF referred to the aircraft as the Warhawk while the British Commonwealth and the Soviet Union called the B and C variants Tomahawk while the D and later variants were called Kittyhawk. By the end of production in 1944 approximately 18,000 aircraft were manufactured.

He is also one of the world’s fastest freestyle swimmers and is a past Olympic champion with the butterfly stroke.

It was delivered new on 2nd March 1993 to a Mr Gambling, who kept it until the 3rd August 1993, when he sold it to Ford dealers Fordthorne, Cardiff. They retained the car until 2009, servicing it regularly, before selling it to renowned enthusiast and collector, Mark Bailey, owner of the ‘BonkeRS Collection’ of fast Fords that was featured on the PistonHeads website in 2011. Mark Bailey offered the car for sale in the auction at the 2015 NEC Classic Car show. It was purchased by another well-known fast Ford collector, Gideon Mayers, to be part of his ‘Cheshire Collection’. He exhibited it in the Pride of Ownership section of the 2021 NEC Classic Car Show, where it was much admired because of its condition and unique history. He reluctantly offered it for sale as part of the Iconic Auctioneers sale at the 2023 NEC Classic Car Show. It had still covered fewer than 22,000 miles and was in perfect, unmodified condition. Ford Escort Mk2 RS1800 - Diamond White The Cosworth BDA-powered RS1800 was a homologation special, produced so Escort Mk2s could enter international motorsport. It’s rare because Ford homologated it as an evolution of the similarly powered Mk1-based RS1600. Consequently, only 109 were built, all to order – 106 in white. All were converted to RS1800 specification in a small two-ramp workshop on Ford’s Aveley development site, Essex. The first 20 were based on Halewood-built Sport bodyshells and are easily recognisable by their blue stripes, although at least three also had body-coloured rear spoilers. Later RS1800s were based on Saarlouis-built Mexicos. Ford retained the first two for PR work, but the car modelled is believed to be the first RS1800 sold to a customer. It was registered in Northampton in July 1975, then exported to Malta in 1978 and allocated a new UK registration on return. The current owner, Perthshire-based Gary Wilson, acquired it in 2009 and traced its history with the help of then RSOC RS1800 Registrar, the late Dave Robinson. Dave proved it was the 'missing' first RS1800, which enabled it to be returned to its original registration. Gary spent ten years on a very detailed, complete restoration with expert Neil Arnold at Auto Restoration, Stockton-on-Tees. The finished article debuted at the RSOC’s Knockhill event in September 2021 and is considered the most perfect RS1800 extant. It has since won many trophies, including Concours Car of the Show at the RSOC National Day, 28th August 2022. Ford Cortina Mk5 2.3 Ghia - Titan Blue This Ford Cortina 2.3-litre V6 Ghia Auto 1:43 scale Vanguards model represents a car purchased new by Langcrest Construction, London, SW6, in May 1982.  It remained registered as a company car until May 1990 when ownership was transferred to the private individual who had looked after it, Thadious Winston Bubb.He kept it until early 2006, a clear sign of his fondness for the car. The ninth and current keeper, Berkshire-based Stewart Liming, acquired the car from an owner on the Orkney Islands, Scotland, in March 2024.  He bought it unseen because it was so far away, instead closely studying service history documents, videos and photographs provided by the seller.Stewart employed a transport company to bring the car south and was relieved when the driver greeted him by saying he’d not seen a Cortina as good for many years.  All the owners have kept a detailed service history, showing that the recorded 36,000 miles is genuine, and its overall condition shows how well it has always been looked after.The car had been dry-stored prior to his purchase so Stewart has thoroughly recommissioned it and fitted original Ford specification S Pack Suspension to improve its handling, without ruining its period charm.  He is a Cortina Mk4 and Mk5 enthusiast, having owned eight as a young man in the late 80s and early 90s, so is enjoying reliving his youth in this rare survivor. This Aviation Archive model features a rotating propeller and display stand. We’ve only made 900 of these limited-edition Walter Hinchcliff Sopwith Camel F.1 die-cast models. History Liverpudlian Walter ‘Hinch’ Hinchliffe began his military career with a British Army artillery unit, but in 1916, joined the Royal Naval Air Service. After training, he was posted to Cranwell as an instructor, where he clocked up an impressive 1,250 flight hours in 13 months of flying. In January 1918, he joined No.10 Squadron. RNAS at Téteghem near Dunkirk, and scored his first victory in a Sopwith Camel on 3rd February 1918. As the commander of ‘C’ Flight, Hinchliffe’s Sopwith Camel B7190 was one of the most distinctively presented aircraft of the squadron, with its blue and white detailing making it an attractive sight for Allied and Luftstreitkräfte pilots alike. He used this aircraft to score his second and third victories in France, ending the war with six confirmed victories, confirming him as an ace pilot. The spine of his aircraft carried a representation of the Liverpool coat of arms, and the wheel covers had little devils painted on them. The wording ‘Donner Wetter’ painted on either side of the fuselage is German for ‘thunderstorm’ – fitting for a pilot who enjoyed such a meteoric rise through service. After the war, ‘Hinch’ was persuaded to fly a wealthy heiress across the Atlantic, as she wanted to become the first woman to do so. Tragically, both aircraft and passengers were lost without trace during the attempt. - 1:48 scale

The livery represents an aircraft flown by a legendary future American ace. We’ve only made 1,100 of these limited-edition Republic P-47D Thunderbolt die-cast models. History Although remembered as the top-scoring Mustang ace in the European Theatre of Operations (ETO), George E. Preddy Jr. actually made his ETO combat debut flying the P-47 Thunderbolt. Whilst he did score his first three victories flying this massive fighter, things weren’t always without incident. After downing his third Luftwaffe fighter, Preddy and his wingman, Lt. William Whisner, were heading back to Bodney when Preddy’s Thunderbolt was hit by flak crossing the French coast. Whisner later reported seeing smoke billowing from the cockpit of Preddy’s fighter, and his leader taking to his parachute. Despite being low on fuel, Whisner remained circling above his leader until controllers confirmed a position fix, and that a rescue aircraft was on the way. When the Walrus did arrive, the sea was so rough that it ripped a float off the aircraft during landing. Although it was able to rescue Preddy, it had to be towed back to shore by an RAF rescue launch. All of George Preddy’s fighters in the ETO were named ‘Cripes A’ MIGHTY’, a term he heard people using for luck whilst playing the dice game craps. It appealed to him so much that he painted it on the fuselage of his Thunderbolt and all his future Mustangs. The 352nd began converting from P-47s to P-51B Mustangs in March 1944, and the rest is the stuff of USAAF ace pilot history. - 1:72 scale

History Flying some of the most dangerous strike missions of the Second World War, the Bristol Beaufighters of the Dallachy Strike Wing were charged with a maritime battle that simply had to be won. Denying Germany access to the valuable raw materials she needed to feed her war industries, these aircraft were sent to attack Axis shipping, attempting to sail the length of the Norwegian coast to Germany. They became so proficient in their work that the ships were unable to sail during daylight hours. Instead, they would fjord hop under the cover of darkness, and seek the protection offered by the steep fjord cliffs, and heavy flak batteries by day. Once detected, however, the Dallachy Beaufighters would immediately attack, using tactics perfected to avoid the potential for collision, or aircraft loss due to friendly fire during these frenzied attacks. Battling against hostile terrain, murderous anti-aircraft defences and vast expanses of ocean, these missions required the resolve of a special breed of airmen and aircraft tough enough to cope with such demanding conditions. After providing strike cover in the run-up to and during D-Day, No.404 ‘Buffalo’ Squadron of the Royal Canadian Air Force returned to Scotland and RAF Dallachy in October 1944. There, they continued their fight against Axis shipping off the Norwegian coast, becoming one of the most effective anti-shipping strike units of the Second World War. - 1:72 scale

Land Rover Defender LWB St. Wagon - British Gas  Land Rover introduced the Defender in the early 1980s as a rugged, versatile four-wheel drive, all terrain vehicle which appeared as a car and also as a pickup truck. With cargo capacity for a wealth of equipment or baggage, the Defender could handle anything, which made it a great favourite in both military and civilian roles – many of which have preceded this latest release. Registered E203 PWR from 1987, our long wheel base version is decorated in the eye-catching livery of British Gas at that time.  Representing British Gas North Eastern, as depicted on the cab doors, the body is white with royal blue lower body and roof and featuring fine lighter blue/aquamarine stripes along the waist.  The roof is enhanced with a silver spotlight and an orange roof beacon, both essential in some British Gas operating conditions, no doubt. The interior is black and exterior trim features both black and silver finish. The matt black radiator grille has the Land Rover 110 name above in the centre while the spare wheel is fixed to the centre of the back door, Oxford's 1:76 scale long wheelbase Defender British Gas North Eastern. Ford Transit Connect Stobart Air  The Ford Motor Company boasts that every Transit is built for purpose and the smaller Ford Transit Connect is no exception with a large cargo capability lending itself to all sorts of commercial van users. Shaped by Ford kinetic design, the van has improved aerodynamics for greater fuel efficiency and high-tech lights for greater visibility. Component parts have also been designed for easy service and replacement. The Eddie Stobart fleet goes from strength to strength in its expansion from road vehicles, then rail traffic and here we have a support vehicle for Stobart Air, which the company took over from the regional airline Aer Arann in Dublin and which operates numerous flights between Ireland, the UK and parts of Europe. Our highly decorative model in the shape of the very modern Ford Transit Connect is registered PK12 AZO. The bright blue graphics on a silver grey background show it as operating out of London Southend Airport. A central chequered band of blue and white runs the complete length of both sides and the blue and white colour scheme is repeated in a chevron effect across the back doors. The bonnet has been given solid blue finish. Stobart Air operates from several small airports in the UK, so you may well see similar support vans in the vicinity of any of them. Ford Transit Connect - RAC  The Ford Transit Connect is a  modern addition to Oxford’s fleet of small commercials which have spanned the decades, reflecting the multiple purposes of the indispensible small van. The Ford Motor Company designed the Connect with a large cargo capacity, as well as incorporating improved aerodynamics for maximum fuel efficiency and high-tech lights for greater visibility.  Component parts were also designed for easy service and replacement. No wonder the Connect appealed to the RAC, whose equally modern livery we feature on this latest 1:76 scale edition. Decorated in the RAC signature orange and white colour scheme, the rear of our Connect carries the diagonal red and white highly visible paintwork, alerting motorists to its presence.  The white lettering on the sides and across the back promotes the RAC in-car services role.   External trim is black, as is the interior.  Our model, registered YR06 FMG, dates from 2006 when it was no doubt fulfilling its essential assistance to the nation’s motorists. - 1:76 Scale

Aviation 72 Folland Gnat Single Seat RAF Cosford Museum XK724 (1:72)

Folland Gnat Single Seat RAF Cosford Museum XK724 Following in the contrails of Aviation 72's successful two-seat T.1 trainer variant that has spawned many versions in 1/72 scale, the Gnat's casting was modified to replicate the original solo cockpit 'light fighter' F.1 that first flew in 1955. The British Folland Gnat was developed as a compact swept-wing subsonic fighter aircraft that was produced by Folland Aircraft. Envisioned as an affordable light fighter in contrast to the rising costs and size of typical combat aircraft, it was procured as a trainer aircraft for the Royal Air Force as well as by overseas customers in Finland, Yugoslavia and India, who used the Gnat in both combat and training capacities. Although never used as a fighter by the RAF, the 2-seat Gnat T.1 jet trainer variant was also adopted and operated for some time. The Gnat also became well known due to its prominent use as the original display type used by the Red Arrows aerobatic team. The Gnat was replaced by the Hawker Siddeley Hawk. This RAF version (a limited edition of 360) is rightly missing the underwing extras modelled on later releases of this casting as it depicts the aircraft as it is today, on display at The RAF Cosford Museum. The single-seater Gnat really looks the part with the smaller cockpit and is wonderfully finished in the correct livery. The paintwork on both features a suitable level of sheen and the markings are all beautifully applied, plus there is plenty of excellent detailing to enjoy. Gloster Gladiator RAF 72 Sqn Church Fenton 1937 The Gloster Gladiator was a British built single seater biplane fighter manufactured by the Gloucestershire Aircraft Company.  It was used by the RAF and was also exported to a number of other air forces during the late 1930s.   Although a biplane, the Gladiator was very different from the older types.  It was powered by the 840hp British Mercury VIIIA 9-cylinder air-cooled radial engine; it had a top speed of 257 mph and accommodating four Browning 303 machine guns.  RAF Church Fenton in Yorkshire was opened in April 1937 as a result of the RAF’s massive expansion programme and in response to the escalating military activity in Germany under Adolf Hitler. The station was intended as a fighter base to protect the North’s industrial cities and was home to both offensive and defensive squadrons as part of No. 13 Group, including No. 72 Squadron, who had been allocated the Gloster Gladiators. Despite being one of the remaining survivors of a previous aviation era, the Gladiator was also one of the last Allied bi-planes to see service in WWII and its career in the conflict came to an end in May 1940, when it was superseded by the superior and more up to date Hurricane.  However, the Gladiator played an ongoing role in home based reconnaissance duties rather than active combat. Our 1:72 scale replica of K6130 Gladiator Mk I is decorated in all over silver with red and blue markings. The RAF roundel features on the upper and lower wings as well as along the fuselage. Intricate detail includes rust brown exhaust pipe and lighter brown cowling edge. The tyres, guns and engine are black and the wheel hubs are finished in bright red. K6130 was subsequently transferred overseas and on 18th July 1940 while flying over Egypt in cloud, the plane crashed into a hill, killing the RAF pilot and it was totally destroyed. - 1:72 Scale

Ford Ranger Raptor X SE, True Red The Ford Ranger Raptor X Special Edition was created for the Malaysian market by Sime Darby Motors (SDM) in 2020. SDM is one of the Asia-Pacific region’s leading automotive groups and is involved in all facets of the automotive business, from importation and assembly, to distribution, retail, and rental. They are Ford’s sole Malaysian distributor and created the SE Raptor to be sold via their network of Ford main dealerships.  It featured unique Raptor X lightning bolt decals on the rear and sides of the ‘True Red’ exterior and a matching logo on the unique interior carpet mats. It cost RM6,000 (approximately £1,000) more than the standard Ranger Raptor on which it was based. Oxford Diecast Routemaster London Transport (TT)

Routemaster London Transport The Routemaster was first introduced in the early 50s by London Transport.It emerged as the most popular double decker bus of all time. As one man operated buses came more into use , some of the Routemasters were sold off to a variety of fleets throughout the U.K. Some vehicles were even exported for use in other countries. This history of Oxford Diecast and production in Swansea means the lineage of this model is quite interesting. Many rememember the Corgi (Mettoy) Routemaster that was manufactured in huge numbers. Back in the 1970's when ever we were short of production orders, we just inserted 250,000 buses into the programme. I recall many punch ups with the sales force, who would object strongly as they had the reponsibility of selling whatever was made. Needles to say when they were sold out and the warehouse was empty of Routemasters, they would quickly criticise the factory ! The Mettoy (Corgi) Routemaster was copied by many of the Hong Kong and Chinese manufacturers over the years. My favourite recollection was seeing a terrible copy by an Indian manufacturer. They had bought a sample, but the roof was not straight, there was a 'hump' on the top at the rear; on an internal cavity of the mould there was an insert that came lose from time to time - some production had slipped through with the 'hump' (probably night shhift) and that is what the Indian company had purchased for their sample. In London there was a company called Seener, named after the owner, we tooled up a version for him. He wanted a smaller model around 15/20% smaller to save costs, so we chose 1:76 scale - a lucky scale for Oxford. These carried the brand name SEEROL, named after the owners son ROLand SEEner. We made around 500,000 of these during the 1980's. The tooling eventually fell to pieces and the newly produced Oxford 1:76 variant appeared - it had for once wheel hubs that looked correct. - TT:120 Scale

Republic P-47D 28RA Thunderbolt Includes: - Detailed diecast aircraft - Cockpit detail including pilot - Optional undercarriage (up or down position) - Panel line and body detailing - Rotating prop - Armament detail - Collectors Card - Display stand - 1:72 Scale Aircraft information: When Republic P-47D Thunderbolt 42-29150 “Dottie Mae' took to the air following the end of a lengthy restoration project in June 2017, she was not only a fine example of this brute of a wartime fighter, but could also claim to be arguably the most historic airworthy former wartime aircraft found anywhere in the world.  Recovered from Lake Traun in Austria some twelve years earlier, this aircraft had the distinction of being the last Allied fighter to be lost prior to the end of the war in Europe, one which wasn't lost to enemy action, but the exuberance of a pilot who just flew too low when undertaking a morale boosting aviation show of strength flight.  Assigned to fly over a recently liberated German labour camp in the town of Ebensee, Austria, a force of twenty Thunderbolts made their way at relatively low altitude from their base at Kitzingen, but with Mohr in 'Dottie Mae' always appearing to be flying lower than the rest of the flight.  After overflying the town, the Thunderbolts headed out over Lake Traun and broke formation, however almost immediately, the propeller of Mohr's P-47 struck the surface of the water and was dragged in. Pilot Lt. Mohr managed to escape unscathed, but his aircraft quickly sank to its watery resting place, along with the ignominy of being the last Allied fighter lost during the war in Europe.

The first listed owner was Jaguar's Personal Export Division.  They registered the car in Coventry purely so it could be officially exported to the largest of the Canary Islands, Tenerife, where the British gentleman who had ordered it, Mr I. E. Lloyd, was then based. Mr Lloyd specified Sundym glass to make the car more comfortable in the warm climate and regularly drove it back to the UK for servicing.  Mr Lloyd evidently enjoyed the car as he covered 50,000 miles in it and kept it until the late 1980s, by which time he'd moved to the Isle of Man. It was imported into the UK in 2016 and then purchased by well-known Jaguar collector, Mike Birtwistle, who was impressed by its rust-free condition and original red interior.  Mike mechanically recommissioned it, had the sun-bleached paint resprayed and used it for several Jaguar Enthusiast Club events before selling it to a fellow JEC member, West Midlands-based motoring TV producer and journalist, John Lakey, in September 2017. John was delighted as he'd been looking for a 4.2-litre MOD Series 1 in these colours for years and regularly writes about the car in Classic Car Weekly.

Although driven by various members of EVO's team, the main custodian was Deputy Editor, Adam Towler, who was very enthusiastic about the car, writing in his first report, 'I think it's fair to say I'm besotted with this big American in a way I can't remember being with a long-termer in years.' During EVO's tenure, Ford's press garage fitted various upgrades from their Ford Performance accessory range for the magazine's experts to evaluate. This included a quick shift gear lever, a carbon-fibre gear knob, a strut brace, a slightly louder and more free-flowing exhaust system, and coil-over suspension which improved the car's stance as well as its high-speed handling. The EVO team hosted numerous track days throughout the year including an event at Goodwood, and all were impressed by the poise the car exhibited on track as well as the glorious rev-hungry nature of its V8. It was returned to Ford on December 2nd, 2019, and used on some corporate Ford events with the product and accessory team before being de-fleeted on 31st July 2020.

Since May 2023 it's been owned by its third keeper, Lynn Dumpleton, the editor of the RS Owners Club's magazine Rallye News, who lives in North Wales. Lynn is a lifelong fast Ford enthusiast and could not resist adding this low-mileage example of Ford's last petrol-powered RS to her collection. The car was ordered with most of the available options including the Luxury Pack, which cost an extra £1000 on top of the retail price of £29,995 and included rear parking sensors, powerfold door mirrors, keyless entry, privacy glass, cruise control, and a speed limiter. The first owner also requested 19” black forged alloy wheels that cost an extra £595, shadow black premium paint, which cost an additional £525, and the Ford SYNC3 Nav System with 10 premium Sony Speakers, a sub-woofer and a rear camera, which was another £465. The blue-painted brake callipers were a mere £100, and door edge protectors, at £85, completed the list. The only option left unticked was the Race Style RS Recaro shell seats, which would have cost an extra £1145 and reduced the car's practicality. Lynn enjoys taking the car to RSOC events and was particularly pleased to use it as the safety car on the club's anniversary parade lap of the Donnington Park race circuit during the 2023 RSOC National Day.

They injected the development cash the business had hitherto lacked. The resulting car was launched at the Birmingham Motor Show on October 20th, 1998 and was praised for its elegant exterior design by stylist Richard Woolley and very British interior ambience. Production commenced at Cowley, Oxfordshire, but when BMW sold the company in May 2000 it was moved to Longbridge. The 75 remained in production until 2005 by which time 211,175 had been produced. The automatic 2.5-litre V6 Rover 75 modelled was sold new by MG-Rover dealers Vantage-Preston and was first registered in July 2005, just three months after the Longbridge-based company went into administration.  It features the later-revised bumpers, grille and single-light facelifted nose treatment launched in 2004, which gave the 75 a more modern look, although it cleverly used the same lamp base units with a new single lens on top. Since November 2022, it has been owned by Greater Manchester-based Rover 75 enthusiast Tim Hubbard, who bought it because it showed a genuine 87,000 miles and was in very good overall condition. The 75 and its MG-badged ZT cousin have now acquired a strong following in the classic car world and values are increasing.

Austin Mini Metro Emberglow (Princess Diana) Includes: - Diecast model - Driven by Princess Diana  - Body lining - Interior and body detailing - Display stand - OO Scale Vehicle information: British Leyland introduced the Mini Metro in 1980, with a view to it being a possible successor to the popular and highly acclaimed Mini.  Known initially as the Austin Mini Metro, as time went on with vehicle manufacturer mergers and takeovers, it became popularly known as simply the Metro.  Designed by David Bache and Harris Mann, the Metro was assembled at the Longbridge plant and came as a 3-door/5door hatchback with front wheel drive, a four speed gearbox and engine options from 1.0L  to 1.3L.Top speed was 84 mph.for the basic model. With a length of 3,400 mm and a width of 2,250 mm and boasting a spacious interior, it was particularly popular for use in the city too.  The price was pretty attractive as well. You could buy a new Austin Mini Metro  basic 1.0L model for £3,095. The Metro was revealed over a 3-week period in September 1980 but not at the British Motor Show, where it made its official public debut later.  British Leyland chose to sail from Liverpool to The Isle of Man aboard a cruise ship which proved highly newsworthy and attracted huge attention from prospective buyers from the car trade, who took advantage of this unique opportunity to view and buy the acclaimed vehicle. The Austin Mini Metro was popularised to a notable extent by one famous purchaser of the early version.  The 19 year old Lady Diana Spencer bought one at the time when she was attracting a great deal of attention prior to her marriage to the then Prince Charles.  Registered MPB 909W from 1980/81, it is Lady Diana’s Metro that Oxford has chosen to launch this new model. Decorated in the ruby red Emberlow colour scheme, Our Austin Mini Metro is based on the 3-door version.  The exterior features a fine double white stripe along the waist of the car, with a similar black stripe below.  The majority of the exterior trim is black including the distinctive radiator grille. which also has the squared off headlights embedded into it with the Austin blue badge in the centre.  To the rear the Austin mini Metro signage is printed in silver along the lower edge of the boot. The Austin Mini Metro was the best selling mini-car in its early production days and was voted Car of the Year in 1983.   During its 18-year production span, the Metro clocked up over 2 million sales. However, it is a very rare sight today.

Stingray - Diecast model - Fit the box scale Includes: - Detailed diecast replica  - Window glazing detail - Display stand - Exclusive Gerry Anderson Stingray packaging - Fit the box scale Vehicle information and history: The flagship of the World Aquanaut Security Patrol (WASP), Stingray is a renowned combat submarine piloted by Captain Troy Tempest and his hydrophone operator Lieutenant George Lee Sheridan, also known as ‘Phones’.  The vessel was considered the most advanced submarine of the 2060s and was central to the WASP’s discovery of many advanced undersea civilisations, including the city of Titanica, ruled by the despotic King Titan and his warrior followers, the Aquaphibians.  Measuring 85ft (30m) long, Stingray’s nuclear reactor powers a Dual Drumman Hydrojets Ratemaster Turbine that gives the vessel a surface speed of 400 knots and a submerged speed of 600 knots. This raw power also enables the ship to breach the surface and ‘jump’ out of the water for a short distance, a useful way to evade enemies.  Stingray can safely submerge to a maximum depth of 40,000ft, comfortably above the deepest known point of the world’s oceans. A pair of landing skis can deploy from the underside of the hull to enable the submarine to safely land on the ocean floor.  The submarine is armed with a complement of sixteen Sting missiles and carries several other small vehicles onboard for maximum operational flexibility while deployed. Most noticeable of these are a pair of Aqua Sprites, small submersibles located on the exterior hull of Stingray to port and starboard.  The Aqua Sprites feature dry interiors for the pilot, detaching from the main hull and allowing for closer docking with other vessels underwater. In the event of an emergency underwater, the Aqua Sprites are also the primary means of evacuating Stingray.  If the crew leaves the vessel in underwater equipment, they invariably use handheld Sea Bugs to enable speedier propulsion and movement while underwater. Above the surface, compact single-seat hovercraft called Monocopters are available on board to provide much quicker and safer movement over the invariable rough terrain.

Ltd was renamed Western Scottish Motor Traction Co. Ltd. The company was formed as a result of the 1930 Road Traffic Act, which encouraged the consolidation of bus companies into larger groups. Western Scottish quickly became the largest bus operator in south west Scotland, with depots in Kilmarnock, Ayr, Cumnock, Girvan, Stranraer, Dumfries, Annan, Ardrossan, Carlisle, and Whithorn. The company operated a wide range of services, including local bus services, interurban connections, and cross-border journeys into north west England. In 1949, Western Scottish was nationalised and became part of the Scottish Bus Group. In 1985, in preparation for privatisation, the company was split into Clydeside Scottish and Western Scottish. The M Type was a popular choice with the Scottish Bus Group and other operators, and over 1,000 were built between 1974 and 1980. It was used on a wide range of services, including express services, long-distance tours and charter work. Fairey Swordfish 'The Navy Wings Heritage Flight' W5856/4A The Swordfish is a biplane torpedo bomber, designed by the Fairey Aviation Company and principally operated by the Fleet Air Arm of the Royal Navy. The design first flew in 1934 and was retired from frontline duties towards the end of World War II. W5856 is the oldest surviving airworthy Fairey Swordfish in the world and is now part of the Navy Wings historic naval aircraft collection. W5856 first flew in 1941 and served with the Royal Navys Mediterranean Fleet for a year, then returned to Fairey's Stockport factory for refurbishment over the winter of 1942/43. Transferred to the Royal Canadian Navy in 1944 and used in a training role, this aircraft was then stored in reserve after the end of the war. Sold off and passing into civilian ownership, W5856 was eventually purchased by Sir William Roberts and brought to Scotland to join his Strathallan Collection. In 1990, the aircraft was bought by British Aerospace and completely restored to flying condition. Following a successful test flight at Brough in May 1993, she was gifted to the Royal Navy Historic Flight. Three years later, the aircraft was adopted by the City of Leeds, in tribute to the local companies that built Swordfish components during World War II, and W5856 now wears the citys coat of arms and name on her port side just forward of the pilot's cockpit. W5856 was grounded with corrosion in her wing spars in 2003, but BAE Systems generously stepped in and constructed a new set of wings, which were delivered in 2012. W5856 was saved by a major grant from the Peter Harrison Heritage Foundation. The aircraft re-joined the display circuit in 2015, carrying a new paint scheme which depicts Swordfish of 820 Naval Air Squadron during the attack of the Bismarck in 1941. Released as part of the lower-priced Inceptor series, this second Swordfish in the series (after AV72-FB-001, the other Swordfish in the Navy Wings collection) makes for another excellent value model. Despite the launch of the all-new Cavalier just a year away in 1987, the company upgraded the existing model in 1986 adding revised grilles and rear lamp clusters similar to their larger Senator vehicle, together with further improvement to the equipment levels. A new 2.0 Litre engine option became available on the CD, SRi and GSL trim whilst the availability of the fuel injected 1.8L unit was revised down to L trim.   We have chosen to launch our 1:76 scale version of the four-door Cavalier in the 2.0 CD format, featuring all the 1986 revisions. It appears in the rich champagne platinum colour scheme with lots of black and silver trim, complete with sunroof. Registered D193 XYJ from 1986-7, the interior seating and dashboard are both finished in a darker grey-beige.

Registered F981 ENV from 1998, ours is representative of the last year of manufacture. In real life, the Discovery 1 followed some of the finer features of the Range Rover with the same chassis, suspension and 4 wheel drive system. It was designed, however, at a more affordable price point so it came with smaller engine sizes and initially a three door option. It was also the first Land Rover aimed at the daily driving family market whilst still maintaining the off road facility. In addition, it provided more luggage space and was the only model with a 4 cylinder petrol engine option as well as the diesel alternative. The Discovery 1 came with either a 4-speed automatic or 5-speed manual gearbox Another innovative feature was the interior for which Land Rover engaged the help of the Conran Design Group.  The result was a uniform interior colour scheme regardless of exterior paintwork, comprising a signature Sonar Blue to seats and carpet. The car also featured magazine holders above the windscreen, hand-holds for rear passengers built into the front seat head rests, new radio controls on the instrument cluster, two removable sunroof panels and a Land Rover branded cloth fabric holdall in the front centre console for storage. This unique ‘bag’ could be removed and with a detachable shoulder strap could be used as a fashion accessory.  A collector’s item in itself! The remainder of the interior and dashboard features of the Discovery 1 were taken from the existing Rover Group stable, including the instrument panel, digital clock, heater and air conditioning controls. A nod to nostalgia comprised the distinctive Morris Marina door handles. Our 1:76 scale model incorporates all the fine visual features of the original. The interior replicates the authentic Sonar Blue, enhanced with a Sonar Grey dashboard, steering wheel and door panels. Additional interior features include black floor mats, grey interior door handles, gearstick and hand brake. The exterior bodywork is a metallic red colour scheme with black and silver trim. Side body and rear window flashes are finished in grey, silver and a fine blue stripe.  Detailed roof bars, rear mud flaps, wheel centres and bolts are all black. The spare wheel appears fixed off centre on the rear full width door to the right of the  number plate. The Discovery 1 retained the chunky utility vehicle function for which Land Rover was historically renowned, while incorporating many refinements aimed at comfort and economy in an ever competitive automotive world.

The Vickers Supermarine company did propose the development of a two seat variant of the Spitfire to Air Ministry officials as far back as 1941, but as there was no official support for the project at the time, they simply returned to further development of single engined fighters. Once the war had ended, stories of unofficially modified two seat Spitfire projects started to circulate, with the ones produced by the Soviet Air Force being perhaps the most significant. Britain would eventually supply Russia with more than 1000 Spitfires and it was discovered that they actually converted several Spitfires to two seat configuration, however, rather than moving the front cockpit slightly forward as Vickers Supermarine would later do, the Russians elected to simply add a second cockpit behind the existing one, using a narrower section of the fuselage. Making these aircraft extremely distinctive, this also must have also created a rather claustrophobic working environment for the second pilot. With this information in hand, Vickers Supermarine revived their interest in producing a two seat Spitfire as a private venture and in 1946, selected a Spitfire Mk.VIII airframe as their donor aircraft. In fact, one of the most interesting facts about the two seat Spitfire variant is that there is no such thing as a new-build Spitfire T.9 trainer, because every single example was originally manufactured as a single seat fighter. Something of a post war phenomenon, the two seat Spitfire did attract several military operators over the years, including the Irish Air Corps, however, it is during the warbird restoration era and more specifically over the past two decades that the popularity of ‘Spitfires made for two’ has really become established. As arguably the most famous aircraft of all time, the ability to boast that you had flown in a Spitfire used to be the preserve of talented and extremely fortunate pilots, however, as they now had the opportunity to carry a passenger, the chance to fly in a Spitfire was now open to anyone and there has been no end of people desperate to have a Spitfire flying experience. Nowadays, offering Spitfire experience flights has become an extremely lucrative business, to a point where only a few years ago, almost every Spitfire under restoration was being converted to T.9 or two seat Spitfire standard. These aircraft are now much loved in their own right, regularly appearing at Airshows, in addition to operating in all but the poorest weather conditions, taking its latest lucky passenger on their Spitfire experience flight. These Spitfires made for two are maintaining and even enhancing the legacy of this magnificent aeroplane, bringing R.J Mitchell’s classic fighter to the attention of a new generation of Spitfire aficionados. Supermarine Spitfire TE307 was originally constructed as a Mk.IXe fighter variant in 1945, but due the end of the war in Europe, was immediately placed in storage, where she would remain for the next five years. She was then selected as a conversion airframe to T.9 trainer standard, initially earmarked for service with the Egyptian Air Force, but when this sale fell through, embarked on a service career flying with the Irish Air Corps. Following retirement and disposal, she would go on to be used during the filming of the famous move 'The Battle of Britain', before moving into private ownership and periods spent with different owners in France, Canada and the US over the next few decades. She would later be purchased by Warbird Experiences at Biggin Hill and returned to British skies at that time wearing the famous standard RAF wartime day fighter scheme, however, she was about to take on a very different persona. In a development which saw this aircraft become one of the most distinctive airworthy Spitfires in the world today, TE307 was given a smart new scheme in honour of the fighters flown by the men of No.457 Squadron Royal Australian Air Force during WWII. With each of their aircraft benefitting from the application of sinister looking shark mouths under the engine cowling, the unit was known as the 'Grey Nurse' Squadron and Spitfire TE307 now carries the registration A58-606 and the codes ZP-W in honour of Squadron Leader Bruce Watson, who flew with this unit. Junkers JU-87 Stuka Includes: - Diecast model - Canopy detailing - Printed detail - Prop and engine exhausts - Display stand - 1:72 Scale Aircraft information and history: Although usually associated with the Wehrmachts feared Lightning War attacks at the beginning of WWII, the Ju87B Stuka was also a highly effective maritime strike bomber. Capable of performing precision dive bombing attacks against any Allied vessel, the Stuka took a heavy toll of shipping in the English Channel, North Africa and in the Mediterranean. The Stuka also saw service with the air forces of Italy, Romania, Bulgaria and Hungary, as well as remaining in Luftwaffe service throughout WWII. The attack dive of the Stuka was so severe, that quite a number of automatic features had to be incorporated into the manoeuvre. At an altitude of approximately 15,000 ft., the pilot would locate his target through a bombsight window, which was located in the floor of the cockpit. His engine and propeller had automatic controls, to optimise the aircraft when in a dive, and an automatic trimmer would make the aircraft tail heavy, as the pilot initiated the dive. He would move the dive lever to the rear, which would limit the kick of the control column and quickly begin a defined sequence of actions, which if done correctly, would see his ordnance detonate on his intended target. He quickly set the trim tabs, reduced the throttle and closed the engine coolant flaps. The aircraft would automatically become tail heavy and pitch over in a 180-degree roll, placing the aircraft in a steep nose-down dive at the same time, dive breaks were automatically deployed, to reduce the speed of the dive, to a constant 360 mph. This was the point of no return as the attack sequence had begun. As the strain on the body of the pilot increased, he still had much work to do. The angle of his dive could be checked by looking at a series of red lines on the side of his cockpit window and lining them up against the horizon 60, 75, or 80 degree angle of attack. He would then look forward through the fixed gun sight, to line up his attack, before releasing his heavy main bomb - the optimum release height was indicated to the pilot, by a light flicking on in his altimeter. The bomb was carried on a large U-shaped cradle, which would swing down on release, throwing the bomb safely clear of the large propeller and on to the target. As all this action was taking place, the pilot would have certainly had at least a couple of reassuring glances at the red pins protruding up from the top of the wings, which informed him that the automatic dive recovery system was engaged, should he fall victim to a g-induced black-out. All this would have been taking place in just a matter of a few, frantic seconds! Once the bombs had left the aircraft, it automatically began its dive recovery sequence. This was the point at which the maximum g loading on the crew would be felt and forces in excess of six times the force of gravity were regularly experienced, which could result in vision impairment at the very least. Once recovered and the nose of the aircraft was above the horizon, the dive breaks were automatically retracted, the throttle was opened and the propeller was set to climb the pilot then quickly had to manually open the coolant flaps, to prevent the engine from overheating and then resume flying the aircraft. This was the point that the Stuka was at its most vulnerable, flying at low level, at relatively slow speed and in hostile territory. His rear gunner may still be blacked out and indeed the pilot might still be feeling a little light headed, but every anti-aircraft gun, rifle and enemy fighter in the vicinity would be taking pot-shots at them, from every angle.
