Oxford Diecast VW T2 Bus w/ Surfboards Fiord Blue/Arcona White (TT)

The VW T2 was a camper and a minibus combined, which the German manufacturer launched in 1968. Sporting a larger interior, a bigger engine and a one-piece windscreen, it also came with a number of versatile body options and you will recall its Oxford Diecast launch as a simple van in Peru Green. The two-tone vehicle is painted a muted blue with off white roof and upper body. The bumpers and wheel rims also echo the off white colour scheme. Registered EOG 400K from 1971, our model has two surfboards on the roof, carried on a tan slatted roof rack with a silver frame. The interior of our van is also the same muted blue as the body.  Summer might have faded but this little van is already to go and find some surf, whatever the weather. - TT:120 Scale

As British Railways prepared to be privatised, it sold its HSTs to Virgin in 1997, including 43062. The Class 43 locomotive was repainted in a Virgin red and black livery for use on CrossCountry services. Virgin handed over ten HST power cars in 2002. 43062 was given to Network Rail for use as part of the New Measurement Train (NMT). The locomotive was outshopped in a bright Network Rail yellow livery and because of this, the train was often referred to as the ‘Flying Banana’. The NMT travels at 125mph to monitor and record any faults on the track. 43062 was named ‘John Armitt’ after the chairman of the UK’s National Infrastructure Commission and had a red nameplate fitted. Loram UK won a Network Rail £8-million five-year contract to maintain the NMT in 2020. 43062 was recently overhauled at Loram Derby and returned to traffic in January 2024 with No. 43257 at the rear. Oxford Diecast Ferguson Tea Grey (TT)

Ferguson Tea Grey  Harry Ferguson designed this agricultural tractor, which proved to be one of his most successful inventions which he introduced in 1946. The TE stood for Tractor England while the Model A signified Harry Ferguson’s ‘suction side’ hydraulic control system. The ‘Little Grey Fergie’ was manufactured in Huddersfield until 1956 by the David Brown Company, a name also synonymous with farm vehicles. Decorated in all over grey, our Little Grey Fergie in 1:120 scale features a black seat and steering wheel and even the tiny badge is reproduced printed in blue above the black radiator grille. - TT:120 Scale

Oxford Diecast Mini Tartan Red/Union Jack (TT)

Mini Tartan Red/Union Jack The Classic Mini is one of the iconic vehicles of the late 1950s and 1960s, launched in 1959 and created by Sir Alec Issigonis for Austin Motors.  It was quite revolutionary for its time, being small, economical, easy to drive and at 10 ft long, parking was no problem.  For the same reasons, the Mini remains a favourite even today, loved by celebrities, cult car enthusiasts and the everyday motorist. Its launch in 1:120 scale replicates its larger Oxford predecessors in exact detail.  Registered NLG 465B from 1964, our Austin Mini Cooper appears in bright red with a patriotic Union Flag masked red, white and blue on the roof. The external trim sees lots of chrome detailing to wheels, window surrounds, door handles, bumpers and headlight surrounds, as well as the Austin Cooper badge above the black and silver radiator grille. The interior is red with a black steering wheel. It’s just great to see this nippy little British motoring icon popping back into the range again.  - TT:120 Scale

Hornby BR Intercity Mk2F Brake Standard Open M9534 - Era 8 (TT)

BR Intercity, Mk2F Brake Standard Open, M9534 The British Rail Mark 1 coaches were not suitable for higher speed rail services, with the Mark 1 coaches being a perfect compliment for steam locomotives which saw themselves being replaced by diesel and electric locomotives as the 1960s progressed. The Mark 2 coach was introduced in 1964 and was all steel. While the Mark 2 was a progression of the Mark 1, the two shared almost no common parts, and only a passing resemblance. In service, the Mark 2 coaches were commonly seen in the BR Blue and Grey livery and Network South East colours. The coaches were mainly hauled by larger express diesel and electric locomotives such as the Class 40, 47 and 86. As of 2022, the only Mark 2 coaches still in service are those that are part of the Network rail fleet. The Mark 2 F sub categories had plastic internal panelling with new style seats. Visually they were similar to the Mark 3 coach although there were obvious differences between the two with the length being the most notable. The coaches also had heating and air conditioning as debuted on the Mark 3 prototypes. - Era 8  - TT:120 Scale

Oxford Diecast Scammell Mechanical Horse Van Trailer LNER (TT)

Scammell Mechanical Horse Van Trailer LNER (TT) Includes: - Diecast model - Display stand - TT Scale  Vehicle information: Oxford railway enthusiasts have already been treated to this model in 1:76 scale and here it is in the smaller scale in exactly the same detail. The concept for  the Scammell Mechanical Horse was devised in the early 1930s by Napier & Son. The tractor unit and detachable back was a replacement for horse-drawn vehicles and Scammell Lorries Ltd so liked the idea they purchased the 3-wheeled design and following some refinements, this strong and sturdy vehicle became the favoured transport for pulling loads of  several tons.  A firm favourite with railway companies because of its manoeuvrability, it was a familiar sight in railway yards in particular, including LNER. Here we see it as one of their Express Parcel Service vans, decorated in a rich dark blue with black chassis and roof and the model features a red band along the skirt of the trailer. The interesting artwork on the trailer is a scene from the Lanark Steel Works. The 1930s vintage vehicle is registered EGT 886.

Significant improvements over the Mk2 included new secondary air suspension between the bogies and the coach body as well as aerodynamic skirting on the underframe. Mk3 coaches are 75ft (23m) long, enabling far greater capacity than older coaches. Mk3 coaches also incorporate disk brakes and wheel slip protection enabling faster deceleration. The first Mk3 coaches to be delivered were used as part of the HST prototype along with the two Class 41 diesel power cars in 1972. Mk3 coaches entered service in 1975 along with the Class 43 forming the iconic InterCity 125 trainset. After the HST Mk3 coach variant was introduced, further Mk3 coaches were introduced to the West Coast Mainline for use as part of locomotive hauled trains. Whilst Mk3 stock is standard for HST units, the standard locomotive hauled stock is Mk3a. Mk3a stock differs from Mk3 stock due to the inclusion of buffers as well as a different electrical system that uses motor generator units in each coach to power air conditioning and other ancillaries Mk3a stock was built until 1984, before 3B stock with improved seating and lighting was built from 1985 to 1988. The Mark 3 coaches were introduced into service with the Class 43s as the Intercity 125 service. This top flight service was dressed in a variation of BR Blue with a grey window surround. The Class 43s would be painted in a complimentary colour scheme with yellow noses for safety reasons. The Mark 3 coaches would continue in service in this scheme until the late 1990s.
