Alvis Saracen Mk.5
This 1:35 scale model of the Alvis FV603 Saracen Mk.5 is an impressive kit comprising 219 pieces, offering modellers at skill level 3 a challenging and rewarding project with ample scope for detailed customisation. Crafted by the renowned Alvis Company of Coventry, the Saracen armoured personnel carrier was prioritised for production in the late 1940s due to the urgent situation in Malaya. With a crew of two, the FV603 could accommodate ten soldiers in its rear section, with the commander and wireless operator sitting behind the driver, facing forward, while eight soldiers sat opposite each other in two rows along the armoured sides.
Key Features:

1:35 scale model with 219 plastic pieces
Skill level 3 build suitable for ages 8 and above
Three authentic paint schemes representing Cold War era service
Highly detailed armoured personnel carrier design
Opportunity to add extensive detail throughout the build

History:
The Alvis Company of Coventry was known for producing prestigious cars in the 1930s, so when they started manufacturing an Armoured Personnel Carrier for the British Army in the late 1940s, it was expected to be both capable and of high quality. Originally planning to produce the Saladin armoured car, the urgent situation in Malaya shifted focus to the FV603 Saracen armoured personnel carrier.
Renowned for its excellent off-road capabilities, the Saracen is often associated with images of it patrolling urban areas worldwide, rather than engaging in traditional battlefield scenarios.

Alvis Stalwart Mk.2 Limber
This remarkable 1:35 scale model faithfully represents the Alvis Stalwart Mk.2 Limber, a versatile load-carrier that served the British Army with honour for thirty years. Comprising 245 parts, this Skill Level 3 kit offers intricate detailing, including the vehicle's unique Atlas loader crane, crafted to transport and supply ammunition to the FV433 Abbott self-propelled gun. Resembling a vehicle from Gerry Anderson's Thunderbird 2, this fully amphibious machine gained a reputation for its ability to tackle any terrain during its Cold War service.
Key Features:

245 piece kit with detailed craftsmanship
1:35 scale model of the Alvis Stalwart Mk.2 featuring Atlas loader crane
Skill Level 3 build ideal for modellers aged 8 and above
Fully amphibious design with unique high-mobility characteristics
Includes three authentic paint schemes from Cold War British Army service
Detailed Atlas loading arm with realistic crane mechanism
Accurate depiction of ammunition support vehicle for FV433 Abbott self-propelled gun

History:
The Alvis Stalwart was engineered during the Cold War as a high-mobility load carrier for the British Army, built to navigate the most demanding terrains. Its standout feature was its amphibious nature, enabling seamless transitions from land to water without any modifications.
This Mk.2 model was fitted with the robust Atlas loader crane, specifically designed to support the British Army's FV433 Abbott self-propelled gun. Each Abbott had a dedicated Stalwart for ammunition support, forming an efficient resupply system in the field. The Atlas loading arm could lift three tons at its shortest reach, with a capacity of just under 1.5 tons at its maximum four-metre reach.
The Stalwart's distinctive look, with its high ground clearance and unique silhouette, drew comparisons to vehicles from Gerry Anderson's Thunderbirds series. Despite its unconventional appearance, the Stalwart proved to be a dependable and effective workhorse throughout its 30-year service, operating in environments and conditions that would challenge standard vehicles.
