Railroad: Class 66 66022 'Lafarge Charnwood' EWS Entering service in 1998, this was one of the original 250 locomotives ordered for EWS.  Funded by Locomotion Capital Ltd, it was leased to EWS until December 2008. No. 66022 was one of 60 locomotives sub-let to its Euro Cargo Rail subsidiary in France, starting in June 2006. It was then sold by to Angel Trains, who leased it to DB Schenker Rail UK, but the locomotive remained in service in France, returning to the UK for heavy maintenance when required via the Channel Tunnel. Railroad: BR Class 60 60038 'Avesta Polarit' EWS (Sound Fitted) A growth in demand in the heavy haulage sector led to a review of BR’s available motive power in the 1980s. With 185 locomotives of the Type 5, 3,000+ horsepower category available, made up of its Classes 56 and 58, it was clear that more would be needed, and BR put out an invitation to tender for new locomotives in 1987.  The 100 locomotive order was awarded to Brush in Loughborough, and these entered service between 1989 and 1993. No.60038 was named ‘Bidean nam Bian’ after the Scottish ‘Munro’ in Glen Coe.  With BR’s trainload freight business broken up into shadow franchises, the locomotive became part of Loadhaul, based in the north-east. By 1996, this had become part of EWS and 60038 was named 'Avesta Polarit' after the steel making company at the DFDS Immingham sea terminal on 19th March 2002. It was renumbered and again in April 1989, when it became a 47/8 and was given the number 47823, before becoming 47787 as part of the EWS fleet and being named ‘Windsor Castle’. Previously, it had carried the names ‘SS Great Britain' and ‘Victim Support’. Hornby Railroad: BR Class 37 37422 'Pegasus' Swietelsky (Sound Fitted)

Railroad: BR Class 37 37422 'Pegasus' Swietelsky Rail Services (Sound Fitted)  Originally new from Vulcan Foundry in February 1965 as D6966, the locomotive this RailRoad model is based on became 37266 under the TOPS numbering system in 1974.  Its career started at Tinsley, Sheffield and it also had postings at Stratford and Landore under BR. In January 1986 it was reclassified to 37/4 and renumbered 37422. The locomotive has worn several liveries and had several different operators, including EWS, DB Schenker, and DRS. It became part of the Harry Needle Railroad Company spot hire fleet based at Barrow Hill, which was taken over by Swietelsky, an Austrian-based railway construction and maintenance contractor, in January 2025. Hornby Ruston & Hornsby 88DS 97088 Loadhaul (DVLR)

Ruston & Hornsby 88DS 97088 Loadhaul (DVLR) A total of 271 of Ruston & Hornsby’s ‘88DS’ four-wheel diesels were supplied mainly to industrial sites in the UK and overseas, and were rated at 80/88hp. Built in Lincoln between 1938 and 1967, seven of these were also used by BR’s North Eastern Region on departmental duties.  This model is finished in the distinctive ‘Loadhaul’ livery of black and orange. Formed in 1994 as part of the privatisation of BR, Loadhaul Ltd became part of EWS and subsequently DB Cargo. BR Class 08 08593/D3760 'Colchester TMD' Retro Lined Dark Blue  Add the Class 08 'Colchester TMD' model locomotive to your diesel collection in this elegant blue livery. With sprung metal buffers and NEM tension lock couplings, this is a delightful, highly detailed model.  Built at Crewe Works, this standard 350hp diesel electric shunter started life in November 1959 as D3760 and was allocated to Dannycraig depot at Swansea in South Wales. Under TOPS it was renumbered to 08593 and, in the 1990s, it was reallocated to Colchester where it received a retro-style red-lined BR livery with early ‘cycling lion’ emblem and its old number D3760.  It was also named ‘Colchester TMD’ which was applied in a cursive hand-writing style. BR Class 56 56047 Dutch Transrail (TXS Sound Fitted) This Transrail Class 56 OO gauge model locomotive features a striking grey and yellow livery, with sprung metal buffers and NEM tension lock couplings. The highly detailed model is also pre-fitted with HM7000 sound capability for the most authentic experience.  Built at Doncaster Works, 56047 entered service at Toton in July 1978. Transrail Freight was set up as a trainload freight operator based in St Blazey, Cornwall, formed in 1994 from part of BR’s Trainload Freight division during the privatisation of British Rail. During this period, it acquired a number of Class 56 locomotives, retaining the Dutch-style livery but with the addition of Transrail’s logo and markings.  Transrail was one of a number of main line companies to be bought in 1996 to form new freight operator, English Welsh & Scottish (EWS). Dapol Class 59/2 59201 "Vale of York" EWS

Class 59/2 59201 "Vale of York" EWS The Class 59 is a Co-Co formation diesel locomotive and the first US produced, privately-owned locomotive to operate regularly in the UK. The ordering of the first Class 59 was a result of quarry company Foster Yeomans dissatisfaction with the performance of the BR Class 56. The first 4 locomotives built by GMs Electromotive Division were delivered to Foster Yeoman during 1986 and 59005 in 1989. Proving very successful; one locomotive setting a new UK haulage record for a single locomotive of 4639 tonnes. Foster Yeomans rivals, Amey Roadstone Corp. (ARC) also ordered four modified Class 59s (59/1) as did National Power, who ordered six (59/2). GM invested in this initial UK success by extensively modifying the class 59 internally to produce the Class 66, also hugely successful, within both the UK and Continental Europe. Railroad: Class 37 37093 Police BR 125 Advert (Sound Fitted) Recognised for its memorable role in a television advert – flagging down a speeding HST power car, this highly detailed model of Class 37 No. 37093 comes presented in its unique ‘Police’ promotional livery. Complete with a roof-mounted working blue light and DCC sound-fitted with Class 37 and effects, functions, and an authentic police siren straight out of the box. Equipped with NEM tension lock couplings and plastic buffers, this Co-Co diesel is built to perform on second radius curves or greater. History: Built at English Electric’s Robert Stephenson & Hawthorns works, this locomotive entered BR service as D6793 in 1963, allocated to Gateshead. It received its unusual name ‘An Commun Gaidhealach’ (The Gaelic Association) at Edinburgh in October 1986, before entering the Provincial General Pool from January 1989.  It was renamed ‘Pectindae’ in April 1992, and then ‘East Lancashire Railway’ in April 1994, eventually being sold to a private owner in 2007 by EWS. Paintwork is applied with a rich, uniform finish using original specification colours, which is then adorned with logos, typefaces and graphics, all reproduced authentically using multi-stage printing techniques to produce a model with the finest of looks. RailRoad: Class 08, 08512 EWS (Sound Fitted) This RailRoad Class 08 Shunter is the ideal model for arranging wagons in a goods yard and is suitable for model railway layouts large or small. It comes DCC-ready with a Next 18-pin plug, so you can upgrade it to run on DCC or with our HM7000 Bluetooth-controlled system, which also includes sound via a speaker inside the locomotive. The Class 08 350hp diesel electric shunter was the standard BR general-purpose shunting locomotive with 996 examples built between 1952 and 1962. They could be found shunting large marshalling yards and smaller goods depots. With the decline in the handling of individual goods wagons and the need to assemble trains, by 2000 there were just 100 left in service, with large numbers either scrapped, exported or sold into industrial use. Hornby GBRf Class 67 Bo-Bo 67027 - Era 11

GBRf, Class 67, Bo-Bo, 67027 The Class 67s were constructed by Alstom Meinfesa in Valencia between 1999 and 2000 for EWS. No. 67027 ‘Charlotte’ was named ‘Rising Star’ in 2003. Various changes took place over the years. In 2007, the ownership of the locomotive was transferred to DB Cargo UK. In 2014, the locomotive adopted the DB Cargo UK red livery, changing from the previous EWS red & yellow livery.  Ownership was again transferred to Colas Rail in 2017. To reflect this, the livery was amended to Colas Rail yellow, orange and black at the Toton TMD. The locomotive name changed to ‘Charlotte’ in the same year. In 2022, ownership was transferred to GB Railfreight and repainted in a blue and yellow livery, although this didn't last long as GBRF Rejected the 2 Class 67s and they were returned back to Colas. Class 37 37414 Triple Grey Construction Sector The introduction of Class 156 ‘Super Sprinters’ on the West Highland from January 1989 and on the Far North/Kyle lines in the May triggered an exodus of Class 37/4s to freight work. By the end of that year, Laira, Motherwell and Tinsley had gained allocations, while Immingham and Thornaby both acquired three locos each in the middle of 1990, by which point half the sub class were south of the border. One of these was No. 37414, which was on china clay duties in Cornwall until transferred to the North Lincolnshire depot’s FABI pool that September. This loco, which retained its Western Region-style lamp irons at the No.2 end only, had been repainted in the Roundel triple grey scheme with Distribution decals in August 1989, but quickly swapped these for more appropriate Construction brandings after its move. This saw it mostly outbased at Buxton in the Peak District to haul aggregates, cement and the iconic ICI limestone trains.While it wasn’t completely allergic to passenger work during this period, it moved to Crewe Diesel in November 1992 to join the RCMC Regional Railways North West pool, initially to work Liverpool Lime St/Crewe-Cardiff trains, still wearing its classic Railfreight image. In March 1993 it became the first member of the fleet to receive the new Regional Railways livery along with the name Cathays C&W Works 1846-1993, becoming a stalwart of the North Wales coast and the famed ‘club’ trains from Liverpool and Manchester Victoria. It soldiered on until it was stored by EWS in March 2000 and was scrapped at TJ Thomson’s of Stockton exactly nine years later. Accurascale Class 37 37421 Colas

Class 37 37421 Colas Stored by EWS at Motherwell in March 2005 and sold for preservation at the Pontypool & Blaenavon Railway in 2009, No. 37421 was one of four Class 37s that was purchased by Colas Rail in 2013 for a return to the main line, along with Nos. 37116, 37175 and 37219. While the latter pair debuted for their new owner in the middle of 2014, it would be another year before No. 37421 would re-enter traffic along with BR green-liveried former Harry Needle Class 37/0 No. 37057/D6757, just in time to assist on the newly acquired Network Rail infrastructure monitoring contract. For the next four years, the Colas Class 37/4 was a solid performer on various test formations, until called to South Wales in May 2019 to provide power for Cardiff-Rhymney line commuter turns along with hired-in Nos. 37025 and 37418. This followed a fallow few months when the locomotive was under repair and eventually returned after a bogie swap with No. 37175. The Rhymney workings ended in March 2020 and it was back to test train work, mixed in with NR saloon duties with No. 975025 Caroline and the odd infrastructure duty. Cosmetically, towards the end of that same year it swapped its Colas ‘hard hat’ logos for new diamond stickers, although it has stubbornly retained its unique arrangement of single lamp irons on different sides of the locomotive at each end. Despite the increasing number of Colas HST power cars on the NR services, No. 37421 is still a regular atop PLPR (Plain Line Pattern Recognition) and UTU (Ultrasonic Testing Unit) formations and is expected to remain a key component of the operator’s fleet for several years to come. Class 37 37408 'Loch Rannoch' EWS Arguably the most popular of the Class 37/4s in the British Rail and early privatisation era, No. 37408 Loch Rannoch clinged obstinately to its large logo paint scheme – the last so adorned – until being called to Toton in mid-1998 for a repaint. Following a protracted overhaul, which included a new toughened centre window, it debuted in the revised maroon and gold of its owner EWS, sans-nameplates, in November and wasn’t reunited with its famous name until the following February. Over the next seven years, the former No. 37289 (built as D6989) was a regular performer on loco-hauled services around the country, particularly Birmingham/Crewe-Bangor/Holyhead, Cardiff-Fishguard/Rhymney and Crewe/Manchester, Leeds-Carlisle/Knaresborough and even in Scotland on the Fort William sleeper. It could also be found on a wide variety of freight and even Railtrack/Network Rail test trains and was variously allocated to Crewe Diesel, Motherwell, Cardiff Canton, Toton and Margam during this period.Outshopped in the same livery in March 2002, its rock star status meant that it was never long before it gained various accoutrements, including regular bouts of Eastfield ‘Westies’, silver buffers, white lamp irons, black headcode panels and even Immingham 40B shedplates. BR, Class 60, Co-Co, 60001 'Steadfast' No. 60001, the first of the Class 60s to be delivered, was handed over to British Rail in 1989 after being ordered only 13 months earlier. The locomotive was named 'Steadfast' as the result of a suggestion competition.
