Railroad: BR Mk1 NKA 94157 "Super GUV" RES Rail Express Services (RES) was the BR sector responsible for the transport of mail and parcels, including the Travelling Post Office. General Utility Vans (GUVs) were used in large numbers to transport mail and parcels, though some were used as newspaper vans.  These vehicles were part of the BR Mk1 coach family and 907 examples were built between 1956 and 1960 by BR at its York, Doncaster and Glasgow works. A number were also produced under contract by the Pressed Steel Company Ltd at Cowley, near Oxford. With a carrying capacity of 13.8 tons (14 tonnes) these multi-door bogie vans were versatile, some even being converted for carrying motor vehicles. ZCV 'CLAM' DB973347 Dutch Departmental EWS These wagons were introduced into BR service in 1989 and utilised redundant MGR hopper wagon chassis, with new, low-sided steel bodies. ‘Clam’ wagons were used in engineering and permanent way trains for carrying ballast, spoil and sleepers. They had fixed sides and ends and were fitted with vacuum brakes.
