Hornby HM7000: Power Bank Maxi

HM7000: Power Bank Maxi The R7416 Power Bank Maxi is our largest power bank and will keep locomotives with larger motors that require more pulling power, running over any potential dead spots. The space require inside a locomotive for this power bank is 22 x 12 x 10mm.  The Power Bank Maxi can be connected into the current range of HM7000 DCC Bluetooth decoders. A simple plug & play socket means there's no soldering required! Why use one? Your layout will occasionally suffer from dirty track or small electrical dead spots at points and crossings. The small loss of power can cause locomotives to stop, but with DCC Sound Decoders it can also cause the sounds to reset and restart. Avoid both issues by fitting a Power Bank. Perfect locomotive running and optimal control! (The Power Bank is not suitable for use without an HM7000 decoder, connecting it directly to other decoders or directly to the wiring of a model locomotive may cause damage to the Power Bank, your locomotive or your non-HM7000 decoder). Polsue Barn – Laser-cut kit A versatile barn/workshop building suitable for farm, railway or industrial use. Inspired by a building in Mevagissey, Cornwall. Suitable for both beginners and the more experienced modeller, this kit is cleverly designed - containing not one, not two, but THREE buildings in one! A barn/store, a workshop with double-width wooden doors, and an open lean-to. The three buildings can be positioned separately or all together as one (as shown). The kit contains interior and exterior wall wraps in our popular old stone texture - instantly transforming an ordinary wooden building into a property rich with character and history. The kit also includes slate roofing strips, corrugated iron roofing wraps, laser-cut windows and doors with engraved planks, hinges and locks. The small window is prototypically boarded up and the upper window can also be half-glazed if required. Doors and window frames require painting before the kit is assembled which can be done with solvent or acrylic based paints. We used a Plastikote Stone color for our test build which we then dry-brushed with burnt umber, white & slate grey artists acrylics to create a weathered wood look.  There's also plenty of scope for customisation too... with the slates being applied in individual strips it's easy to build it in either pristine or derelict condition (or anywhere in between), plus the optional steps at the end of the building can be omitted to give the appearance of them being demolished at some point, or to allow passing carts, lorries or wagons to be loaded via the side door. - OO Scale

Old Dairy – Laser-cut kit  Based on a real old dairy building situated in Grampound, a little village between Truro and St Austell, this building will look at home on any layout regardless of the era or region you're modelling. The kit is supplied with pre-weathered paper texture wraps to give a realistically better finish straight from the packet. And components apart from the paper wraps are supplied pre-cut for ease of assembly. The windows & doors are supplied laser-cut from our eco-friendly laserboard and are loaded with lots detail including engraved planks, hinges and locks (separately applied - so they are tiny!). There's also a choice between a "slatted gate" style door for the arched doorway or a solid wooden arch topped door. Separately applied downpipes add an extra finishing touch. The building consists of two main "rooms": Main dairy / stores and the the lean-to to the left hand side. A full set of interior wraps are also included so you can pose any of the doors or shutters open should you wish. Doors & window frames on this OO gauge dairy kit require painting before the kit is assembled which can be done with solvent or acrylic based paints. We used a Plastikote Stone colour which we then dry-brushed with burnt sienna, white & slate grey artists acrylics to create a weathered wood look. There is an abundance of opportunities for customization with this oo gauge building kit. Jack's Hut – Laser-cut kit Jack's Hut is a versatile, small, brick-built hut for enhancing industrial, dockside & railway scenes on your model railway layouts and diecast dioramas. Based on a small lean-to type hut at the end of Charlestown Harbour in Cornwall, it's a simple design with a million and one uses. And with its simple, sloped roof it works as both as standalone building, or as a lean-to at the side of a larger building, like Tony's Cart Shed or Wright's Lockup. Supplied with white painted (heavily weathered) brick and plain red brick finishes, Jack's hut will fit in to pretty much any scene. Need a small weighbridge hut? This is just the job! The roof features heavily weathered cement board/asbestos style corrugated roof with lots of moss, lichen and general weathering, and for a more modern touch, there's also a steel security grille supplied to fit over the door to keep the hooligans out. Railway Wagon Weighbridge (OO) One of the fundamental aspects of safety on the railway was that wagons should never be overloaded. To do so would risk trains not having sufficient braking capacity to slow and stop safely. To manage loading at many industrial locations, each wagon would pass over a Weighbridge - to check their weight. Each wagon would display its tare weight, which could be deducted from the total weight, to ascertain the net weight of the load - simple mathematics! W&T/Smiths Smiths Screw Link Couplings Brass/Steel (4)

Smiths Screw Link Couplings Brass/Steel  Includes: - Four pairs of screw links ready assembled  - Ready to run rolling stock and kits might require modification - OO Scale Historical information: Screw link couplings were first introduced as onward development of 3 link couplings and bettering railway standards from the 1830s onwards. Unlike standard 3 link couplings, the centre link was replaced with a threaded bar and handle. The practice was that wagons/rolling stock buffering up would just have the buffers touching (not compressed), than the shunter would throw the coupling on and tighten the threaded bar with the handle). This would keep the buffers at the desired distance and stop any chance of slack and buffering effect on the train when accelerating or decelerating. Most 'Non Passenger' Express rated goods trains and rolling stock had screw links fitted. The LNER used screw links as a standard on all vacuum fitted rolling stock. This is a practice that continued after WW2 and used on British Railway rolling stock.

Peco GWR Wooden Station Building (OO)

GWR Wooden Station Building (Based on Monkton Combe) Monkton Combe, once an intermediate station on the long-closed Camerton branch near Bath, was thrust into the limelight in 1952 when it was chosen to be the location for the filming of the famous Ealing Comedy "The Titfield Thunderbolt".  This kit has created a faithful reproduction of the building as it was during its short life as a passenger station. Built in 1910, it closed to passengers entirely in 1925, the branch lingering on for goods-only until 1951. Despite its very short life the building was an attractive one and a similar style has been used at other locations around the GWR system, South Wales coming to mind.  No doubt modellers will happily justify their own rendition of Monkton Combe on their layouts. And with the prospect of locos and rolling stock models becoming available soon, based on those used in the film, we may even see recreations of Titfield station itself! To give inspiration to modellers the June 2023 issue of the Railway Modeller shows you just how to create Titfield using our kit, thanks to the modelling skills of resident features writer and modeller Callum Willcox.
