Wright's Lock-Up – Laser-cut kit Wright's Lockup is a small but perfectly formed, versatile OO gauge / 1:76 scale lockup / stores building suitable for industrial, town or harbourside scenes. Based on a real life protoype in Penzance, Cornwall, the building features heavily weathered Flemish Bond brickwork with wooden doors, sash windows, slate roof & downspouts. The side wall also features an optional ghost sign for Wright's Electrical, Hot Water & Sanitary Engineers which would have been the local plumbers & electricians back in the good old days. Also included is an alternative set of buff stone wraps which can be used to give the building a more rural feel.  The kit is supplied with laser-cut parts for ease of assembly and comes with fully weathered paper wraps and roof slates, with no additional painting or weathering required on the main components for a "Realistically Better" finish straight from the pack. The window & doors are supplied laser-cut from our eco-friendly laserboard and are packed with detail including engraved planks, hinges and locks. These will require painting with acrylic paints prior to assembly or colouring with suitable markers. We used a Plastikote Stone color for our test build which we then coated lightly with ground pastels to weather them down for a little less prestine finish. The building consists of two floors and features interior wall wraps for both the brick and stone versions, with white wash & flaking paint for added realism. Ceiling and floor details are also included for the upper floor. There's also plenty of scope for customisation too... with the slates being applied in individual strips it's easy to build it in either pristine or derelict condition (or anywhere in between). And with care, you can also pose the doors open or closed. And we've even given it a prototypically uneven roofline for that added touch of realism to help it blend right in to your layout, just like the real thing. It'll look as if it's always been there! The kit is supplied with precision laser-cut parts for ease of assembly and includes fully weathered paper wraps and roof slates, with no additional painting or weathering of the walls or roof required for a "Realistically Better" finish straight from the pack. The doors, gates & downspouts are supplied laser-cut from our eco-friendly laserboard and are packed with detail including engraved planks, hinges and locks. These will require painting before assembly, but this can be done quickly and easily with acrylic paints. Jack's Hut – Laser-cut kit Jack's Hut is a versatile, small, brick-built hut for enhancing industrial, dockside & railway scenes on your model railway layouts and diecast dioramas. Based on a small lean-to type hut at the end of Charlestown Harbour in Cornwall, it's a simple design with a million and one uses. And with its simple, sloped roof it works as both as standalone building, or as a lean-to at the side of a larger building, like Tony's Cart Shed or Wright's Lockup. Supplied with white painted (heavily weathered) brick and plain red brick finishes, Jack's hut will fit in to pretty much any scene. Need a small weighbridge hut? This is just the job! Harbour office? You got it! The roof features heavily weathered cement board/asbestos style corrugated roof with lots of moss, lichen and general weathering, and for a more modern touch, there's also a steel security grille supplied to fit over the door to keep the hooligans out. The kit is supplied with laser-cut parts for ease of assembly with no additional painting or weathering required for a "Realistically Better" finish straight from the pack apart from the window, door & laserboard parts, which can be quickly and easily painted & weathered with acrylic paints. The hut also features white painted red brick interior wall finishes with flaking paint and other dirt & grime. Doors & window frames require painting before the kit is assembled which can be done with solvent or acrylic based paints. We used a a matt white acrylic primer for our doors and windowframes which we then dry-brushed with burnt umber, buff & slate grey artists acrylics to create a weathered wood look. Additional detail is then added to finish the building with downspouts & bargeboards. All of which are optional so you can choose the level of detail you wish to have on your hut. Coach House & Stables – Laser-cut kit This OO gauge coach house & stables laser cut building kit is ideal for virtually any era model railway layout or 1:76 scale diecast diorama. Ideal for rural and country scenes as a coach house, or it can of course be repurposed as an industrial building or even as a dockside fisherman's cottage with attached boat storage and net loft. It's really up to you how you use it and the options are endless. The coach house & stables features lots of detail such as hinge overlays on the doors, layered, glazed windows, pre-weathered roof slates, painted white stone wall wraps with brick arches. Soot stained chimneys and separately applied drainpipes complete the realistically better finish. There's even the prototypical uneven roofline, just like you see on many older buildings constructed with detailed roof trusses for authenticity. The roof slates are cut to length and pre-weathered with lots of lichen and staining. Simply glue them on to the marked trusses to create a super-realistic roof. The central larger carriage store is separated from the stables & accommodation via internal walls. These sections also feature a floor between the ground floor and the upper floor, allowing you to go to town with interior detailing on these sections. No interior wraps are supplied for these sections. We've also included an optional solid wooden door which you can use in place of the stable door, making it more suitable for use as an industrial workshop with store room and office. Or fisherman's cottage with workshop/boat store and net loft. The kit is straightforward to assemble with paper texture wraps over a series of MDF base layers which leave no unsightly joints visible when construction is complete. As with many of our kits, there are some small, delicate parts in the kit, so tweezers are definitely recommended.  You will need to paint the doors, windows, guttering and downpipes etc as these are supplied unpainted. Artists acrylic paints or "rattle can" spray paints are recommended prior to assembly. Some of the larger unpainted parts can be easily coloured with a simple permanent marker. Peco GWR Wooden Station Building (OO)

GWR Wooden Station Building (Based on Monkton Combe) Monkton Combe, once an intermediate station on the long-closed Camerton branch near Bath, was thrust into the limelight in 1952 when it was chosen to be the location for the filming of the famous Ealing Comedy "The Titfield Thunderbolt".  This kit has created a faithful reproduction of the building as it was during its short life as a passenger station. Built in 1910, it closed to passengers entirely in 1925, the branch lingering on for goods-only until 1951. Despite its very short life the building was an attractive one and a similar style has been used at other locations around the GWR system, South Wales coming to mind.  No doubt modellers will happily justify their own rendition of Monkton Combe on their layouts. And with the prospect of locos and rolling stock models becoming available soon, based on those used in the film, we may even see recreations of Titfield station itself!
