<p>PCA Metalair Bulk Powder Wagon &#039;Blue Circle Cement&#039; Grey [W]
Rail has long been the favoured mode of transport for moving bulk goods and cement is just one commodity for which specialised wagons have been developed to facilitate this. In the mid-Twentieth century British Railways introduced the &amp;lsquo;Presflo&amp;rsquo; wagons to carry powdered cement, which had previously been conveyed in goods vans in bagged form, and as time moved on new designs were sought to replace the distinctive &amp;lsquo;Presflos&amp;rsquo;. Many of the new cement wagons, which were coded PCAs under the Total Operations Processing System (TOPS), featured depressed centres or &amp;lsquo;V&amp;rsquo; tanks, but the &amp;lsquo;Metalairs&amp;rsquo; built for Blue Circle Cement had parallel tanks. The wagons were built by Powell Duffryn and Procor in the mid-1980s and used a discharge system developed by Metalair; many remain in use today.
The Bachmann Branchline &amp;lsquo;Metalair&amp;rsquo; wagons are faithful 4mm scale replicas of the real thing, using injection moulded bodyshells to capture the distinctive shape of the parallel tank that is then adorned with separate tank filler hatches, walkways, ladders and end pipework. The chassis boasts a wealth of fine detail too, from the suspension and axleboxes which are modelled in full relief to the discharge pipework and brake components that are each added individually. The bufferbeams are finished with metal buffer heads, a cosmetic coupling hook and lamp iron, while metal wheelsets are employed along with NEM coupling pockets.

<p>LNER 12T Ventilated Fruit Van BR Bauxite (Early)
Britain&amp;rsquo;s railways were developed primarily to move freight and the early railway companies employed vans of many different designs to transport goods and merchandise that required covered transport. Each railway company had its own designs, some of which were intended for specific traffic like this Fruit Van built by the London and North Eastern Railway (LNER). The fruit vans sported louvres at each end and ventilators on the roof to allow fresh air to circulate within, keeping fruit fresh during its journey.
This Branchline models depicts one of those wooden bodied vans and the planked body is replicated with fine engraving, with precision moulding to capture every detail of the sliding doors and their mechanism, topped off with a separately fitted metal door handle. On the roof, the six ventilators are each moulded in full relief before being added individually, the central pair being offset as per the prototype.
The chassis employs metal wheelsets of the 3-hole disc variety around which safety loops are added from formed metal wire, whilst the brakes, brake handles and associated gear is all included. Representing a van fitted with vacuum brakes, the brake cylinder is mounted underneath the wagon and brake pipes are fitted to each bufferbeam alongside metal buffer heads cosmetic coupling hooks.

<p>BR 12T Ventilated Van Plywood Sides BR Bauxite (TOPS)
British Railways (BR) inherited a wide range of rolling stock upon Nationalisation in 1948, much of which was aging or in need of modern replacement and so a programme to build new vehicles soon commenced. These new vehicles were built to a variety of standardised designs and the 12 Ton Ventilated Van, which was used to transport general merchandise, was one of the most numerous types of freight vehicle built by BR. Employing a metal chassis, the van was constructed from corrugated metal ends with a ventilator in each, with a metal body frame which was panelled with wooden planks or plywood sheets.
The Bachmann Branchline model is a faithful replica of the humble 12T Van, using a precision moulded body that accurately captures the corrugated ends and smooth plywood sides, along with finer details like the body framing, door hinges and locking mechanisms. The roof includes the characteristic rain strips above each set of double doors and the rivets securing the roof are neatly moulded at either end. The chassis is similarly detailed, being fitted with separate brake gear, brake handles and vacuum cylinders, complete with the linkage between the two &amp;lsquo;V&amp;rsquo; hangers. Metal wheels and axles are employed, along with turned metal buffers; meanwhile the couplings are fitted via NEM coupling pockets allowing full interchangeability for those wishing to use an alternative coupling system.

The POA Scrap Wagons were built from new or converted from other, redundant types, during the 1980s to carry scrap metal. The open box design was loaded and unloaded using grab machines or electro-magnets and the wagons entered traffic in a bold blue and yellow colour scheme. Built by Standard Wagon and owned privately by Standard Railfreight, in 1990 British Rail purchased the fleet of 191 wagons upon which they were recoded as SSA under the Total Operations Processing System (TOPS).
The Bachmann Branchline model boasts an injection moulded bodyshell with separately fitted ladders on either side. The chassis incorporates a heavy metal weight providing a low centre of gravity which, combined with the blackened metal wheelsets, ensures smooth and reliable running.

Britain&amp;rsquo;s railways were developed primarily to move freight and the early railway companies employed vans of many different designs to transport goods and merchandise that required covered transport. Each railway company had its own designs, and a defining feature of the Southern Railway&amp;rsquo;s standard vans was the elliptical roof. The vans were clad with planks of an even width, although later builds employed two widths of plank in a 2+2 formation, and later still plywood cladding was also used. The ventilators fitted at either end of the van allowed fresh air to circulate inside keeping perishable items cool whilst in transport.
This Branchline models depicts one of the many ventilated vans built with even cladding, replicated with fine engraving whilst precision moulding captures the external bracing of the van body and the door hinges and locking detail, even down to individual rivets. The chassis employs metal wheelsets of the 3-hole disc variety, whilst the brakes, brake handles and associated gear is all included. Representing a van fitted with vacuum brakes, the brake cylinder is mounted underneath the wagon and brake pipes are fitted to each bufferbeam alongside metal buffer heads cosmetic coupling hooks.

The POA Mineral Wagons were created in the late-1980s by building new bodies onto the chassis of redundant tank wagons in order to move aggregates. Owned by Tiger Rail, the wagons were leased to ARC and Foster Yeoman but within a few years, larger bogie wagons were being introduced and the POAs were gradually displaced onto a variety of traffic including scrap metal and coal. Later the wagons were purchased by British Rail and most ended up in engineering use.
The Bachmann Branchline model employs a precision bodyshell with panel lines and ribs moulded both inside and out. Individual ladders are fitted to the body and chassis on each side. The chassis features separate brake shoes, brake handles, linkage and auxiliary gear, meanwhile the bufferbeam is completed with metal buffer heads, a coupling hook and lamp iron. Like all Branchline models, metal wheelsets are fitted as standard to ensure smooth running, and NEM coupling pockets make it easy to fit an alternative coupling system where required.

<p>POA Mineral Wagon &#039;Yeoman/Tiger&#039; Grey TRL5355

<p>BR OCA Open Wagon BR Railfreight Red 112038
The OCA wagons were introduced at the start of the 1980s, becoming British Rail&amp;rsquo;s final standard design for a general purpose open wagon with wide, low sides made up of three hinged sections etc. to allow all manner of cargo to be loaded and unloaded. Introduced at a time when general merchandise traffic was in decline, the type was soon redeployed to other areas like departmental use, or rebuilt as timber carriers becoming OTAs.
The Bachmann Branchline model features fine moulding throughout; from the bodysides and the representation of the doors on each side including hinge and securing chain detailing, to the interior and in particular the wagon floor with engraved planks and further moulded details. The chassis features an ensemble of brake equipment while each axle is mounted to chassis via a separate axlebox assembly, allowing a degree of pivot and rotation to ensure this long wheelbase wagon can negotiate model railway curves.

<p>BR 35T &#039;Covhop&#039; Covered Hopper BR Bauxite (TOPS) B870780
British Railways produced many standard designs for locomotives and rolling stock, amongst which was the CovHop introduced from 1952 to become the standard covered hopper wagon to transport powders such as sand, soda ash and sugar.
The Branchline Covhop boasts a number of interchangeable features allowing individual wagons to be modelled accurately and the wagon depicted here is one with roller bearing axle boxes, OLEO buffers, and disc brakes – these are fitted to one side of the wagon only and necessitate that the wheels on that side are plain disc wheels, as opposed to the 3-hole disc wheels found on the non-braked side. The highly detailed bodyshell is adorned with separate walkways, roof hatches and end bracing, while gravity discharge doors are incorporated into the chassis amongst the running gear.

<p>BR FVX Carflat Wagon BR Blue &#039;Motorail&#039; &#039;B745075&#039;
Carflat Wagons allowed cars to be transported by rail, a practice that had started during the early twentieth century, but which became more common after World War Two as more families began realising the dream of owning their own motor vehicle. Many were built from old coach underframes that had had their bodies scrapped, with the type really coming to the fore in 1966 when British Rail launched its Motorail service, providing British holidaymakers with long distance train services where they could take their car on holiday with them, giving the convenience of independent transport whilst on holiday but without the long drive to get there.
This Bachmann Branchline model depicts a BR-built Carflat, which to all intents and purposes is a standard BR Mk1 coach underframe running on a pair of BR B1 bogies. The deck of the vehicle is planked, and low side railings are fitted to prevent vehicles from accidentally driving off the side. Like a Mk1 coach, the underside of the vehicle is not overly populated but still features the typical truss frame along with vacuum brake cylinders and, unlike Mk1 coaches, has hand brake levers.&amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;

<p>BR 22T CPV Presflo Bulk Powder Wagon &#039;Blue Circle&#039; &#039;B888556&#039;
When British Railways was formed in 1948, it inherited thousands of wagons from the big four. Whilst many of these wagons were perfectly suited for their intended purposes, BR identified a need for a purpose-built wagon to transport powered goods, such as cement, which previously were transported in bags in vans.
So, in 1954 the first &amp;lsquo;Presflo&amp;rsquo; (short for pressure flow) was built, which utilised the science of air fluidisation, a process which pumps air into the powder to prevent clumping and keep it loose, allowing the powder to be drained from the wagon efficiently. The design was very successful and lasted well into the 1980&amp;rsquo;s, finding use on different traffic flows up and down the country. This particular model depicts a &amp;lsquo;Presflo&amp;rsquo; in BR Bauxite livery with &amp;lsquo;Blue Circle Bulk Cement&amp;rsquo; company boards.
This Bachmann Branchline &amp;lsquo;Presflo&amp;rsquo; tooling suite comprehensively covers the history of these wagons, allowing us to produce a variety of different Presflo types. Our model features a wealth of separately fitted parts, including an end ladder, roof catwalk, handrails and underframe equipment. The ubiquitous BR Bauxite livery is applied using accurate colours and typefaces to produce an iconic wagon fit for any OO scale model railway.&amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;

<p>JGA Bogie Hopper DB Schenker Red &#039;RMC 19232&#039;
The JGA Bogie Hoppers were built in Slovakia in the mid-1990s for Buxton Lime Industries and Tilcon, primarily working from Tunstead Quarry, operated by Buxton Lime Industries, near Buxton on the edge of the Peak District. Consisting of a large hopper with three pairs of bottom discharge doors, the wagons were used to transport lime products from the quarry for distribution around the UK and the type remains in use in limited numbers today.
Reproduced in OO Scale by Bachmann Branchline, the JGA model features a precision moulded bodyshell which captures the wagon&amp;rsquo;s distinctive sloping ends with their ribbed constructed. Below the solebar, the three sets of discharge doors are added separately, meanwhile a metal weight is concealed above each bogie to ensure smooth running. The bogies themselves are fitted with metal wheels and axles whilst the integrated NEM coupling pockets allow alternative couplings to be fitted with ease. Separate brakes are added and the bogies each sport spring and suspension detailing in full relief. The bold red livery of DB Schenker faithfully adorns the model, complete with the various markings and operating instructions that are found on the real wagons.

<p>HKA Bogie Hopper DB Schenker &#039;300649&#039;
The HKA Bogie Hopper Wagons originated from JMA Coal Hoppers which were ordered by National Power in the mid-1990s. After being acquired by EWS, many of the JMA fleet were fitted with new bogies and the resulting wagons received the TOPS code HKA – with their use subsequently expanded to aggregate traffic too. It is these wagons that form the prototype for this Bachmann Branchline model and the two variants – inner or outer wagons – can be modelled to suit individual needs. In normal operation HKAs run in fixed rakes with only buffers and conventional couplings fitted to the outer ends of the rake. Wagon-to-wagon coupling is by means of a buckeye, negating the need for buffers. The Branchline model can be configured as either; for an outer wagon the rectangular buffers, drawbar hook and screw-link coupling are fitted into the relevant bufferbeam receptacles, with a dummy tail lamp provided too, while for an inner variant the buckeye coupling and buckeye coupling lever is added.

<p>35 Ton PAV Bulk Grain Wagon BRT Brown
The 35 Ton Grain Hopper Wagons, sometimes known as Whisky Covhops (COVered HOPpers), were built in the late-1960s for the transportation of grain from growing regions like East Anglia and South East England to the whisky distilleries of Scotland. The 4 wheel hopper wagons provided an increased payload over the types they replaced and were operated by Associated British Maltsters Ltd. And Scottish Malt Distillers. At first bold and colourful advertising boards were carried on the sides of wagons, but these were soon removed leaving just the brown livery, although some were later painted into the more eye catching &amp;lsquo;Grainflow&amp;rsquo; scheme of green and grey. In later years some wagons were used on Alumina traffic in Scotland but all had been withdrawn before the end of the twentieth century.

<p>35 Ton PAA Bulk Grain Wagon &#039;Grainflow&#039; Green &amp;amp; Grey [W]&amp;nbsp;

<p>LMS 20T Brake Van LMS (L M S) Grey &#039;730037&#039;
This new Bachmann Branchline model of the LMS Standard 20 Ton Brake Van sets a new standard for these iconic vehicles, of which 2,774 examples were built between 1935 and 1950, first by the London, Midland and Scottish Railway (LMS) and then by British Railways (BR) who recognised the merits of the LMS design.
With an extensive tooling suite catering for many of the variations that were incorporated into the real vans during their construction and subsequent use, authentic models can be produced of brake vans in their early years when first entering traffic in the 1930s, to their final days in departmental use at the end of the twentieth century.
Boasting a wealth of detail, from the separately fitted metal handrails to the individual brake components and cabin interior, the new Branchline models are fitted with blackened metal wheelsets and NEM coupling pockets, providing smooth running and operational versatility alongside their good looks. The icing on the cake is the livery application, with rich paintwork and authentic numbering and markings, completing this valuable addition to the extensive range of Branchline goods rolling stock.

In the late 1960s British Railways required air braked stock to operate its new Air-Braked Network services – which would later be known as Speedlink -&amp;nbsp; and the Cov AB (Covered, Air Braked) van provided the answer, becoming BR&amp;rsquo;s first general purpose air braked van. Introduced from 1969, the Cov ABs had a modern appearance in comparison to the wooden box vans in widespread use at the time and the side of the van was constructed from a pair of doors, providing large openings for loading/unloading. When the Total Operations Processing System (TOPS) was introduced in the 1970s the vans were given the TOPS code VAB, VAA, VBA or VBB. Used to transport general merchandise, the vans were often marshalled into mixed goods trains as opposed to being operated as uniform rakes and could carry all manner of general merchandise. By the 1980s their traffic was reducing and so commenced their withdrawal although a small number remained in service towards the end of the century, coming under private ownership following Privatisation.
The Bachmann Branchline model employs a highly detailed bodyshell which boasts precision moulded panel lines, door handles and mechanisms, and fine rivet detailing. At either end a separate lamp iron is present, along with metal buffers and a cosmetic coupling hook. The solebar includes prototypical detailing along with the door runners, whilst the wagon&amp;rsquo;s suspension and brake gear is added using separate components. The metal wheelsets are mounted on a pivoting frame, allowing this long wheelbase wagon to traverse tight curves with ease whilst NEM coupling pockets are also incorporated. Authentic colours and typefaces are employed during the livery application process, completing this high-fidelity model.

The VDA van was a development of British Rail&amp;rsquo;s Cov AB air-braked van which was first introduced in the late 1960s, with the VDAs entering traffic from 1975. Sharing the same 20ft 9in wheelbase as the original Cov ABs, the VDAs not only had sliding doors to allow the sides to be fully opened for loading/unloading but these doors could also be opened individually as cupboard doors to allow quicker access to just one internal area. The vans entered traffic in Speedlink services and were used to transport general merchandise, often being marshalled into mixed goods trains as opposed to being operated as uniform rakes and could carry all manner of general merchandise. By the 1980s their traffic was reducing and so many VDAs were rebuilt to suit new traffic, most notably as OTA timber carrying wagons or low sided ballast/spoil wagons where were often coded as ZCA &amp;lsquo;Sea Urchins&amp;rsquo;.
The Bachmann Branchline model employs a highly detailed bodyshell which boasts precision moulded panel lines, door handles and mechanisms, and fine rivet detailing.

Britain&amp;rsquo;s Railways were developed primarily to move freight and by the early twentieth century, hundreds of independent companies were operating their own wagons to transport their goods around the UK by rail. Fleet sizes ranged from small concerns with a single wagon to large enterprises whose wagon count could run into the hundreds. The majority of wagons in private ownership were wooden bodied open wagons and by far the most common commodity that they carried was coal, although other materials, including coke, minerals and aggregates might also be transported depending on the nature of business conducted by the wagon&amp;rsquo;s owner.
This model forms part of our new Railway Celebrations range, selected because of its close links to the Stockton &amp;amp; Darlington area and because it symbolises the revolution that the railways provided. Tarslag operated a fleet of hundreds of wagons to carry furnace slag and road asphalt and their operations embodied the freedom of movement afforded by the railway revolution, with concerns in Wolverhampton on the Great Western Railway and Stockton on Tees served by the LNER amongst others, trains including Tarslag wagons would be seen across the UK.
The Bachmann Branchline model portrays a 5 Plank Wagon with side doors to aid loading and unloading, and a steel floor. These details are faithfully replicated on the model, with neatly engraved plank lines and finely moulded metal work and rivets. Below the solebar the W irons, axleboxes and springs are all reproduced to great effect, with separate brakes and brake levers and metal door stops completing the look. The model runs on split spoked wheels which are of metal construction whilst metal buffer heads and cosmetic coupling hooks adorn the bufferbeams. Authentic colours and typefaces are employed during the livery application process, completing this high-fidelity model.

Various types of 5 Plank Wagon were built, and this Bachmann Branchline model depicts one with side doors to aid loading and unloading, and a wooden floor. <p>1 Plank &#039;Lowfit&#039; Wagon BR Bauxite (Late) &#039;B450161&#039;
Britain&amp;rsquo;s railways were developed primarily to move freight and over time, a wide range of wagons were developed to suit the varied cargo that the railway companies had been contracted to transport. Among them were short wheelbase, flat bed wagons with a single plank along each edge which was hinged and so could be lowered to allow cargo to be rolled on and off. Such wagons were employed to move things like tractors, motor cars and other relatively small machinery that was happy being exposed to the elements during the journey. Anchor points were provided on the wagon floor so that loads could be tied down, and the cargo could be sheeted if necessary to offer some protection from weather and general railway dirt.
The &amp;lsquo;Lowfit&amp;rsquo; wagon depicted by this Bachmann Branchline model was so called because of its low sides and fitted brakes and on the Branchline model, the wagon body is injection moulded, incorporating hinges along each edge and with securing chains represented at each corner. The wooden deck of the wagon is depicted with crisp engraving to define the separate wooden planks, while the metal rings fitted to each anchor point are replicated too. Below the solebar the W irons, axleboxes and springs are all reproduced to great effect, with separate brakes and brake leavers, brake linkage and a vacuum cylinder all present and correct. The model runs on 3-hole disc wheels which are of metal construction whilst metal buffer heads and cosmetic coupling hooks adorn the bufferbeams. Authentic colours and typefaces are employed during the livery application prototype, completing this high-fidelity model.

Brake Vans were once essential parts of any goods train and each railway company had its own designs, but perhaps none were as iconic and widely recognised as the Great Western Railway&amp;rsquo;s (GWR) &amp;lsquo;Toad&amp;rsquo; Brake Van. Found across the GWR network from the late 1800s and into BR ownership serving the Western Region and beyond, the &amp;lsquo;Toad&amp;rsquo; provided guards with a spacious cabin and large veranda at one end giving this classic GWR design its distinctive appearance.
The Bachmann Branchline &amp;lsquo;Toad&amp;rsquo; features an injection moulded bodyshell with plank detail alongside representations of the bodyside handrails and lamp brackets that were fixed to each side and end. The handbrake wheel sits prominently inside the open sided veranda, joined by two sandboxes, whilst below the solebar footboards are fitted separately, and metal spoked wheelsets are employed to provide smooth running. The livery application is to the high standard associated you&amp;rsquo;ve come to expect from a Bachmann Branchline model, making this &amp;lsquo;Toad&amp;rsquo; a perfect addition to any goods wagon fleet.

The BR Standard 20 Ton Brake Van is a classic vehicle and a must for any freight collection or goods yard scene. A mandatory requirement as part of all goods trains until 1968, and in use well into the 1980s with unfitted trains and other selected services, the brake van provided braking facilities and offered the Guard a refuge from the elements in which to stay warm and dry, whilst observing operations via the end windows or side duckets.
The Bachmann Branchline 20T Brake Van has long been the model of choice to bring up the rear of many a goods train and it&amp;rsquo;s easy to see why this model is still a firm favourite. Capturing the character of the prototype, the Branchline model is adorned with separate handrails, roof vents – which on this example are of the oval torpedo variety – and lamp brackets. The footboards are also separately fitted, allowing different lengths to be modelled to suit the van being modelled – in this case long footboards are present.&amp;nbsp; This particular brake van also carries end weights, is fitted with end handrails, has planked sides and ends and has planked veranda partitions, whilst the cabin doors have two windowpanes each.

Pristine Rail Express Systems livery

<p>HRA Bogie Hopper DB Cargo 41 70 6723 036-3
The HRA Bogie Hopper Wagon is the next modern freight wagon to receive the Bachmann Branchline treatment and this model sports the vibrant red livery of DB Cargo. The first HRA entered traffic in 2017, being created by cutting down the HTA wagons, of which more than 1,000 were built for EWS to transport coal. With the phasing out of coal fired power stations, a new use for the HTAs was needed. As stone is far denser than coal, repurposing HTA wagons for aggregate was inefficient as they could not be fully loaded before becoming overweight, therefore shortening the wagons allowed the same payload to be moved with a shorter length train than if unmodified HTAs were used. To create the HRAs, one hopper bay is removed from the HTA before the two ends are welded back together, and these changes are faithfully reproduced on these OO scale models.
The &amp;lsquo;cut and shut&amp;rsquo; nature of the rebuilds is evidenced by the weld lines midway along the wagon sides and these marks are captured in model form, along with details such as the hopper doors, handwheels and separate pipe runs. Each wagon runs on bogies fitted with metal wheelsets and comes pre-fitted with buckeye couplings – as fitted to most of the prototypes. Standard tension lock couplings which fit into the NEM coupling pockets on the bogies are supplied for optional fitting. DB Cargo&amp;rsquo;s bright red provides the base colour, against which the logo, safety warnings, instructions and TOPS information all in white contrasts. Buffers are also supplied as optional fittings, allowing wagons to be configured as &amp;lsquo;inners&amp;rsquo; without any buffers or as &amp;lsquo;outers&amp;rsquo; which usually carry buffers at one end only.

<p><a href="http://www.monkbarmodelshop.co.uk/baguley-drewry-70hp-diesel-ici-orange-grey-p28018">Bachmann Baguley-Drewry 70hp Diesel ICI Orange &amp; Grey</a></p>
<p>Baguley-Drewry 70hp Diesel ICI Orange &amp;amp; Grey
The diminutive Baguley-Drewry marks Bachmann&amp;rsquo;s first foray into the world of narrow gauge diesels for the Bachmann Narrow Gauge OO9 scale range. These 70 horsepower machines were originally built for use at Royal Naval Armament Depots (RNAD) which employed narrow gauge networks to move armaments between storage locations and transhipment sites. The perfect complement to the Bachmann Narrow Gauge RNAD Wagons, these diesel locomotives pack a lot into a small space with a high proportion of diecast parts to provide the 4-wheel locomotives with a running performance befitting the prototype. Several details are fitted separately, including the air filter mounted on top of the bonnet, headlights (non-functional) at the front and rear of the cab, windscreen wipers and, inside the cab, chairs and controls are modelled too.
The coreless motor, which is fitted with a flywheel, provides drive to both axles – each of which run in separate metal bearings. Electrical pick-up comes from all wheels whilst the couplings are mounted into NEM coupling pockets – these can be removed and the bufferbeams swapped out for fully detailed alternatives that do not feature the cut-outs required for the OO9 coupling.
All of this detail is brought to live by the livery application which uses authentic colours, logos and typefaces to portray a locomotive in use with industrial giant ICI. The maker&amp;rsquo;s name is carried on the front of the locomotive whist the window frames are picked out in silver and the cab interior is decorated, but the icing on the cake for this model is the &amp;lsquo;wasp stripes&amp;rsquo; at either which really bring it to life.

<p>BR 102T TEA Bogie Tank Wagon Debranded (ex-Jet-Conoco) Light Grey [Weathered] R82678 (ex-136)
Rail has long played an important role in transporting fuel around the UK, the thirst for was growing strongly by the mid-twentieth century thanks to the advent of air travel, the private motor vehicle and the dieselisation of Britain&amp;rsquo;s railways. New, larger wagons were required to meet the demand for fuel transport and the TEA Bogie Tank Wagon provided the answer. The first examples were built during the 1960s with construction of similar types continuing for several decades. TEAs and their derivatives remain the core mode of transport for oil and fuel products today.

Weathered and de-branded &amp;lsquo;Jet-Conoco&amp;rsquo; Light Grey livery
Running No. PR82678 (ex-136)

Vehicle information and history:
The Dinorwic Quarry was once the world&amp;rsquo;s second largest slate quarry and vast narrow gauge railway networks were employed to move materials around the site and then on to transhipment points. To transport slate on these railway lines, Dinorwic had countless four wheel wagons built to its own design – often hauled by Quarry Hunslet locomotives as already modelled by Bachmann Narrow Gauge. Therefore, the Dinorwic wagons were an obvious candidate to join our range of OO9 scale rolling stock and so we are delighted to unveil these all new models of the Dinorwic Flat Bed wagons.
The flat bed wagons were used to transport slabs of slate from the rock face to dressing and finishing buildings and could also be employed to move other large, bulky items around the quarry. These new Bachmann Narrow Gauge models are fitted with metal wheels and NEM coupling pockets and are supplied with both standard OO9 scale couplings, to couple to other rolling stock and locomotives, and simple hook and loop couplings which provide a much more discreet coupling solution within a train formation.
