The new Class 66 combines a high-fidelity, injection-moulded bodyshell with a heavy, diecast chassis to which separate main frames are fitted. A multitude of individual parts are then added, manufactured in both metal and plastic, to capture every element of the prototype. The HTCR radial bogies are reproduced in miniature using multiple components, with many separately added details, resulting in these true to life replicas which interface neatly with the locomotive’s frames for an authentic appearance and accurate ride height. The separate axle heads that each rotate smoothly and reliably when the model is moving, mimicking this characteristic feature of the prototype, is the finishing touch.
The colourful liveries of modern operators present some challenges when it comes to decorating our models, but with extensive research, close collaboration with the operators themselves and decades of experience producing beautifully finished models, we are able to replicate every detail. Paintwork is applied with a rich, uniform finish using original specification colours, which is then adorned with logos, typefaces and graphics, all reproduced authentically using multi-stage printing techniques to produce a model with the finest of looks.
Meanwhile, ‘under the bonnet’ the new Class 66 boasts a high specification that utilises the latest advancements in model railway technology. A full lighting suite includes directional lights, with day and night mode and stabling mode, along with cab lights and machine room lights, all of which can be controlled to full effect when the model is used on DCC. To fit a DCC decoder, it’s simply a case of removing the magnetic roof panel and swapping out the blanking plate for a Plux22 decoder. DCC users also benefit from the integrated Bach-Up Stay Alive System which provides uninterrupted power to prevent stalling, light flicker and, for those fitting sound to their model, sound cut-outs. Already using DCC? Then why not opt for one of our SOUND FITTED models instead and start enjoying authentic sounds, a full complement of lights and the Bach-Up Stay Alive System straight out of the box!

Class 69 69013 Andy's Man Club GBRf Black
Bachmann Europe Plc has teamed up with GB Railfreight (GBRf) to produce a OO Scale model of Class 69 Diesel Locomotive No. 69013, which will be sold to help raise funds for Andy’s Man Club, the mental health charity that encourages men to talk and aims to prevent male suicide.
The real loco debuted in its striking black livery at the end of April 2025, complete with Andy’s Man Club branding and contact details along with the hashtag #itsoktotalk. Bachmann will be donating proceeds from every sale of this model and with it being the 13th member of the Class 69 fleet, we aim to raise £13,000 to help Andy’s Man Club get men talking all over the UK.
No. 69013 is the first model to be unveiled for the second batch of Branchline Class 69s which will be released in 2026. The real locomotive is unique amongst the 16-strong fleet of converted Class 56s in having the lower portions of its cab sheeting removed. This modification was made to the donor locomotive No. 56312 and has been carried over to No. 69013 but is not present on the other 15 locomotives. Every Branchline model is manufactured using complex and expensive tooling suites and producing a model with this unique feature is not possible using the current tooling that Bachmann has developed. Therefore, to model this variant would require new tooling, including a new bodyshell, underframe and chassis block. The cost of such additional tooling would be prohibitive for a single locomotive, preventing any meaningful donation to Andy’s Man Club.

Class 69 69003 'The Railway Observer' GBRf
The real Class 69 Diesel Locomotives have been created for GBRf through the conversion of redundant Class 56s and we are delighted to present this Bachmann Branchline OO scale model of Britain’s newest mainline diesel.
Produced under an exclusive agreement with GBRf, the Branchline model has been painstakingly developed hand-in-hand with the introduction of the GBRf fleet. With the Class 69s being built from donor locomotives that were first built by three different works and have themselves seen almost fifty years of use and modification, Bachmann has worked closely with GBRf to accommodate any detail differences that were present on the donors and have remained apparent on the rebuilt machines, along with any changes made to the final design of the Class 69 during the ongoing build programme.
This diligent approach has resulted in a truly magnificent model which befits the Branchline name, capturing the Class 56 shape to a tee alongside the modern adornments and many changes made to the locomotives to create the 69s.
The bodyshell features crisp, accurate mouldings to depict the main features along with separately fitted parts, including etched bodyside and roof fan grilles, metal windscreen wipers and separately fitted driver’s door handrails. Inside the cab there is interior detailing which will be decorated appropriately whilst machine room detailing is visible through the bodyside grilles. The underframe equipment is all present and correct, composed of many separate parts along with sandboxes and sandpipes and sprung metal buffers, but it is the bogies that really bring this model to life. It’s hard to describe these as anything but a work of art, using countless separate components to model every aspect of the bogie in full relief, from the brakes to the suspension, even down to the separately fitted bogie-body securing chains.
All of this detail, both inside and out, will be brought to life with an exquisite livery application using true-to-prototype colours, fonts and logos and with the help of GBRf official livery diagrams.
Under the body, the Branchline Class 69 features our proven drive system using a 5 pole motor with twin flywheels driving all axles on each bogie. Electrical pick-up comes from all wheels whilst DCC provision comes in the form of a Plux22 interface. Directional lighting is of course provided, along with cab and machine room lighting when used on DCC. Whilst every model comes with a pre-fitted speaker, for those looking for sound then our SOUND FITTED and SOUND FITTED DELUXE variants with their Dual Fitted XL Speaker System is the obvious choice. Talking of SOUND FITTED DELUXE, opt for our top of the range model and you can enjoy the additional features of motorised radiator fans and DCC-uncoupling – thanks to the Bachmann Auto-release Coupling System!

The Class 121 single-car Diesel Multiple Unit (DMU) is Bachmann Branchline’s flagship First Generation multiple unit, equalled only by its 3-car Class 117 stablemate. Employing cutting edge technology, these high fidelity models boast a wealth of detail and era-specific options to depict specific railcars at various points during their working careers which, for some, extended towards 60 years in service. Returning to the Branchline range in a selection of new liveries, these iconic suburban DMUs will make a fine addition to any model railway set in the steam-diesel transition period onwards.
Capturing the look and character of the prototype, this Class 121 is adorned with many separate detail components whilst underneath the engine, drive gear and auxiliary equipment is all depicted faithfully. It may be hard to believe, but within these components and integrated into the underframe is hidden the drive mechanism, which is totally invisible with no intrusion into the interior of the model. Talking of the interior and the fine detail extends inside the model too, complete with prototypical decoration. The livery application is executed to a high standard both inside and out, using accurate colours and authentic fonts, typefaces and logos to stunning effect.
Driven by the low profile mechanism, the technology continues with the lighting suite which includes directional lights, interior cab and passenger saloon lights, and Illuminated headcode boxes and destination blinds, all of which can be enjoyed by analogue users – controlled with the under-chassis switches – or via dedicated functions on DCC. With a Plux22 DCC decoder socket and pre-fitted speaker.

The Class 08 Diesel Shunter was BR’s most numerous diesel locomotive type (totalling more than 1,000 examples alongside its Class 09 and Class 10 counterparts) and models of this icon have long been a staple of the Bachmann Branchline range. However, this brand-new 08 owes nothing to its predecessors and finally brings the story of the humble diesel shunter right up to date with this most accurate of OO scale renditions.
Constructed from high fidelity mouldings, the new Branchline model employs a wealth of separately fitted details, including various metal components, and offers countless combinations of details and variations to allow individual locomotives to be modelled accurately at a chosen time in history. This external beauty is brought to life by the exquisite livery application which uses true-to-prototype colours, fonts and logos – extending beyond the exterior to the cab interior which itself is highly detailed and decorated accordingly.
Meanwhile, ‘under the bonnet’ the model boasts a high specification that utilises the latest advancements in model railway technology. For the first time a full suite of lighting, including up to 13 separate lights, is fitted and can be enjoyed by both analogue and DCC users – whilst the new shunter is the first model to employ Bachmann’s Bach-Up stay alive system, providing DCC users with a reserve power supply for uninterrupted running even on dirty or uneven track.

The Class 158 is one of British Rail’s most successful second generation Diesel Multiple Units (DMUs); first introduced in 1989, the entire fleet remains in traffic to this day. Over the years many colourful liveries have adorned the units, none more so that the vivid green scheme of Central Trains and one such unit is depicted by this Bachmann Branchline model.
The pinnacle of OO scale second generation DMUs, the Branchline Class 158 combines high fidelity bodyshells with an underframe that’s adorned with separate components depicting the engines, electrical equipment, and auxiliary gear. It’s the livery application which really brings these models to life and every element has been replicated in miniature. Whilst the main colours are spray painted, the myriad smaller logos, symbols and lettering are applied using a specialist printing process, using BR and corporate specification fonts, logos and colours.
Driven by the low-level drive mechanism, which is fitted to each vehicle, the conductive couplings ensure that the two vehicles work together in harmony and enable the use of a single decoder for DCC operation. Fitting that decoder couldn’t be easier thanks to the clip-off underframe panel behind which the decoder socket is fitted and combined with the pre-fitted speaker in each car, it’s easy to fit sound to your model, or why not let us do the work for you by choosing a SOUND FITTED model for a fully immersive operating experience straight out of the box.
