<p>Class 23 &#039;Baby Deltic&#039; H/code Box D5901 BR Green (SYP)
Another type that has never been produced in N scale, the new EFE Rail models tell the story of this Class of ten locomotives that were ordered from English Electric as part of BR&amp;rsquo;s 1955 Modernisation Plan. Despite a service life spanning little more than ten years, the Baby Deltics have an interesting past; being rebuilt after just a few short years in service and emerging again with a distinct new look before their premature demise.
The EFE Rail models have been designed to portray the real locomotives throughout their working lives so two bodyshells have been produced, one with headcode discs for the as-built examples and a second with central headcode panels. Boasting injection moulded bodyshells with fine relief detail and precision engraving, all of the locomotive&amp;rsquo;s defining features are recreated in miniature. Separate metal handrails are added aside each cab door and on the nose ends, whilst below the solebar separate tanks are fitted and the bogies are crafted with full brake and suspension detail.
Powered by a coreless motor, DCC provision comes in the form of a Next18 decoder socket and space is provided for a speaker for those wishing to add sound. Directional lights are fitted and a switch is provided on the PCB to turn off the red tail lights, or this can be done via a function key when a DCC decoder is fitted.
Details:

With TOPS panel applied before moving to the Railway Technical Centre
Pristine BR Green (Small Yellow Panels) livery
Running No. D5901
Centre Headcode Panels

Features:

Equipped with a Next18 DCC Decoder Socket – Recommend Decoder item No. 36-567A
Length 118mm (over couplings)
Coreless, twin shaft motor providing drive to both bogies
All axle drive
Electrical pickup from all wheels
Diecast metal chassis block
Gearing arranged for prototypical running speeds and haulage capabilities
9mm (N gauge) wheels to NEM310 standards with authentic disc profile
Removable coupling pockets to NEM355 standards fitted to each bogie
Designed to operate on curves of second radius (263.5mm) or greater
Directional lighting, with tail lights switchable on/off via a circuit board switch on Analogue control. On DCC, directional lights or tail lights only can be switched on/off independently via dedicated functions
Authentic light colours and temperatures selected for each model based on era and application
High-fidelity, injection-moulded bodyshells covering locomotives fitted with either Disc Headcodes or Headcode Boxes
Fully detailed Bogies incorporating suspension, brake components and cab steps, and with integral protection irons
Separately applied underframe moulding featuring tanks and battery boxes adorned with individual metal pipework
Separately fitted metal handrails aside each cab door and on the top of each nose
Detailed cab interior
Glazed bodyside and cab windows with separate, clear glazing
Each model supplied with a full set of bufferbeam pipework and accessory parts, including a set of open and closed headcode discs where appropriate

<p>Class 23 &#039;Baby Deltic&#039; Headcode Box D5909 BR Blue

<p>LB&amp;amp;SCR E4 Tank 32473 BR Lined Black (Early Emblem)
The E4 Class 0-6-2 Radial Tank was one of the most successful and versatile tank locomotives that the Southern Railway inherited upon Grouping in 1923, with all 75 locomotives that the London, Brighton &amp;amp; South Coast Railway had constructed around the turn of the century passing to the SR, and all but one would make it to BR ownership as well. The Bachmann Branchline model of the E4 is just as versatile, featuring diecast metal construction supplemented with high-fidelity injection moulded parts to create a model as strong and capable as its prototype. What&amp;rsquo;s more, the Branchline E4 has been upgraded for 2025 and now features a Next18 DCC decoder socket and provision for a speaker, allowing SOUND FITTED models to be offered for the first time.

<p>Class 56 &#039;56031&#039; &quot;Merehead&quot; BR Dutch Departmental
The British Rail Class 56 is a type of diesel locomotive designed for heavy freight work. It is a Type 5 locomotive, with a Ruston-Paxman power unit developing 3,250 bhp (2,423 kW), and has a Co-Co wheel arrangement. Enthusiasts nicknamed them &quot;Gridirons&quot; (or &quot;Grids&quot; for short), due to the grid like horn cover on the locomotive&#039;s cab ends fitted to nos. 56056 onwards. Under its Romanian railway factory nomenclature, the locomotive was named Electroputere LDE 3500, with LDE coming from Locomtiva Diesel-Electrica (Diesel-Electric locomotive) and the 3500 being the planned horsepower output.
The Class 56 fleet was introduced between 1976 and 1984, a total of 135 examples were manufactured. The first 30 locomotives (56001 - 56030, factory classification LDE3500) were built by Electroputere in Romania, but these typically suffered from poor construction standards and many were withdrawn from service early for extensive rebuilding before re-entering revenue service.[3] The remaining 105 locomotives were built by British Rail Engineering Limited (BREL) at Doncaster Works (56031 to 56115) and Crewe Works (56116 to 56135).
1:148 Scale model of a Class 56 diesel locomotive decorated in Railfreight Metals livery. These models have been specially commissioned by Gaugemaster and form part of the Gaugemaster Collection Series.
These models feature lots of era specific details and markings and lots of external body details as modelled on the prototype.
Features:

NEXT-18 DCC Decoder Socket
Gaugemaster Limited Edition
Detailed body with etched grills and separately fitted hand rails
Darkened wheels and pin point bearings
Split frame tungsten chassis
5 Pole motor for smoother operation
All wheel drive

<p>LSWR Adams T3 560 SR Lined Maunsell Green
The first LSWR T3 Class locomotive was built in 1892 and 125 years later, the T3 was thrown into the spotlight when the National Railway Museum donated the sole preserved example, No. 563, to the Swanage Railway Trust. Ever since this controversial move there has been a desire to see a OO scale model of this Victorian masterpiece, and now, we are delighted to fulfil those wishes with this brand-new model developed for Bachmann&amp;rsquo;s EFE Rail range.
Employing a large number of diecast metal components to provide the optimal weight distribution needed for this 4-4-0 locomotive to perform at its best, the EFE Rail T3 is powered by a five pole motor and flywheel which is geared to the rear driving axle. DCC provision comes in the form of a Next18 decoder socket mounted in the tender, where a speaker is also fitted, meanwhile within the cab of the model a firebox lighting system has been installed which operates on both analogue and DCC.
An innovative loco-to-tender coupling design provides both integral electrical connections and a close coupling feature, whilst at either end of the model NEM coupling pockets are fitted and sprung metal buffers are mounted on each bufferbeam. Each model sports an array of locomotive- and era-specific detailing as appropriate, all of which is highlighted by the ornate livery application.

<p>Class 47/8 47849 BR InterCity (Swallow)&amp;nbsp;
The Class 47 was British Railways&amp;rsquo; most prolific class of main-line diesel locomotive and so it&amp;rsquo;s no surprise that high fidelity models of these ever-popular machines are available in N Scale as part of the flagship Graham Farish range. Such was their success that Class 47s went through various upgrade and refurbishment programmes during their careers, to extend their lives or ready them for new services, resulting in various sub-classes being used to group locomotives that had undergone the same work, or were built with similar features, such as the Class 47/4s which were those locomotives fitted with Electric Train Heating (ETH). Whilst not an official sub-class, some Class 47/4s were fitted with extended range fuel tanks allowing them to work longer distances and such machines were identified by being renumbered into the 478xx series. With their larger fuel tanks, these Class 47s were put to work on cross country routes and following Privatisation, the 47/8s were used by Virgin Cross Country. No. 47849 received its extended range fuel tanks in 1990 and was renumbered from 47570, remaining in InterCity livery long into Privatisation before it was repainted into Virgin colours in 2000 and so making this locomotive suitable for both Era 8 and Era 9 operations.
Our new InterCity model takes full advantage to the recent upgrades that have benefited the Graham Farish Class 47, namely the technical advancements which see the model boasting a Next18 DCC decoder interface, pre-fitted speaker, cab lighting (when used on DCC) and independent control of the directional lights at each end.

<p>Class 47/4 47555 &#039;The Commonwealth Spirit&#039; BR RF Distribution European
The Class 47 was British Railways&amp;rsquo; most prolific class of main-line diesel locomotive and so it&amp;rsquo;s no surprise that high fidelity models of these ever-popular machines are available in N Scale as part of the flagship Graham Farish range. Such was their success that Class 47s served on the front line of BR services for many decades and even in the 1990s, some 30+ years after their introduction, they were still being used for top link services, like hauling the Royal Train or in this case, as part of the fleet used for freight services via the then brand new Channel Tunnel linking the UK and the mainland Europe.
The Railfreight Distribution European livery, as distinguished by the large lettering on the bodyside and blue roof, was introduced in the mid-1990s and was applied to distinguish those locomotives allocated to traffic flows serving Dollands Moor and the Channel Tunnel Freight Services, which used the Channel Tunnel from its opening in 1994. Class 47/4 No. 47555 &amp;lsquo; The Commonwealth Spirit&amp;rsquo;, which was something of a celebrity with spotters and enthusiasts, was one of the locomotives selected for this pool and was repainted resplendently into the new livery by Tinsley which added its Yorkshire Rose depot motif to the cab sides in the process.
&amp;lsquo; The Commonwealth Spirit&amp;rsquo; takes full advantage to the recent upgrades that have benefited the Graham Farish Class 47, namely the technical advancements which see the model boasting a Next18 DCC decoder interface, pre-fitted speaker, cab lighting (when used on DCC) and independent control of the directional lights at each end.

<p>Class 47/7 47712 &#039;Lady Diana Spencer&#039; BR ScotRail
The Class 47 was British Railways&amp;rsquo; most prolific class of main-line diesel locomotive and so it&amp;rsquo;s no surprise that high fidelity models of these ever-popular machines are available in N Scale as part of the flagship Graham Farish range. Such was their success that Class 47s went through various upgrade and refurbishment programmes during their careers, to extend their lives or ready them for new services, and the Class 47/7 sub-class is just one example – these locomotives being fitted with extended range fuel tanks and cab-front jumper cables to work push-pull trains in Scotland. No. 47712 &amp;lsquo;Lady Diana Spencer&amp;rsquo; was one of the first twelve locomotives converted to a 47/7, having entered works as Class 47/4 No. 47505, and is modelled in the striking BR ScotRail livery with bold grey, white and blue bodyside bands and large yellow ends and cab rooves. The real locomotive survives in preservation today, and has recently been returned to service on the main line, in much the same 1980s condition as depicted by our model.
&amp;lsquo;Lady Diana Spencer&amp;rsquo; takes full advantage to the recent upgrades that have benefited the Graham Farish Class 47, namely the technical advancements which see the model boasting a Next18 DCC decoder interface, pre-fitted speaker, cab lighting (when used on DCC) and independent control of the directional lights at each end.

<p>Hunslet Austerity VF5300 NCB North East 59
This Austerity was another wartime product, this time from the Vulcan foundry, Newton-le-Willows. It was completed in 1945 and allocated the WD number 75310. Following war dept service, the locomotive was purchased by the NCB and allocated to number 6 area, North West Durham. Particular to this area is the cut back cabs on all locomotives for working the restricted clearance of the tunnel on the entrance to Lambton coal drops at the port of Sunderland. Another smaller feature on this locomotive was the relocation of the injectors to above the running plate ahead of the cab. Both of these features are faithfully recreated on the model

<p>Hunslet Austerity HC1775 BR Black Early Emblem 68025
This locomotive was one of a batch of 36 Austerities by Hudswell Clarke of Leeds. This particular one was completed in November 1944 and carried the WD number 71498. Purchased by the LNER in June 1946 the locomotive was classified as a J94 and numbered 8025. The distinctive extended bunker was fitted in November 1949 when it was renumbered 68025 and gained the early BR emblem. The locomotive was based at Darlington 51A until withdrawal in 1963. The locomotive did not survive and was cut up shortly after. The model replicates the period after 1949 and carries the extended bunker, smokebox numberplate and additional steps and handrails on the tank

<p><a href="http://www.monkbarmodelshop.co.uk/baguley-drewry-70hp-diesel-ici-orange-grey-p28018">Bachmann Baguley-Drewry 70hp Diesel ICI Orange &amp; Grey</a></p>
<p>Baguley-Drewry 70hp Diesel ICI Orange &amp;amp; Grey
The diminutive Baguley-Drewry marks Bachmann&amp;rsquo;s first foray into the world of narrow gauge diesels for the Bachmann Narrow Gauge OO9 scale range. These 70 horsepower machines were originally built for use at Royal Naval Armament Depots (RNAD) which employed narrow gauge networks to move armaments between storage locations and transhipment sites. The perfect complement to the Bachmann Narrow Gauge RNAD Wagons, these diesel locomotives pack a lot into a small space with a high proportion of diecast parts to provide the 4-wheel locomotives with a running performance befitting the prototype. Several details are fitted separately, including the air filter mounted on top of the bonnet, headlights (non-functional) at the front and rear of the cab, windscreen wipers and, inside the cab, chairs and controls are modelled too.
The coreless motor, which is fitted with a flywheel, provides drive to both axles – each of which run in separate metal bearings. Electrical pick-up comes from all wheels whilst the couplings are mounted into NEM coupling pockets – these can be removed and the bufferbeams swapped out for fully detailed alternatives that do not feature the cut-outs required for the OO9 coupling.
All of this detail is brought to live by the livery application which uses authentic colours, logos and typefaces to portray a locomotive in use with industrial giant ICI. The maker&amp;rsquo;s name is carried on the front of the locomotive whist the window frames are picked out in silver and the cab interior is decorated, but the icing on the cake for this model is the &amp;lsquo;wasp stripes&amp;rsquo; at either which really bring it to life.
Features:

Pristine ICI Orange &amp;amp; Grey livery
Running No. 05 587
Accessory Pack
NEM Coupling Pockets
Powerful Coreless Motor and Flywheel
Detailed and Decorated Cab Interior
Equipped with a Next18 DCC Decoder Socket – Recommend Decoder item No. 36-567A

Locomotive information and history:
Fifty Class 90 locomotives were ordered by British Rail in 1986 to replace the ageing Class 85 fleet on West Coast Main Line duties, whilst also allowing BR to cascade a number of Class 86s to East Anglia. Constructed at British Rail Engineering Limited, Crewe, the new locomotives were initially classified as 87/2s however this was soon changed to Class 90 as the design featured a completely new body-shell – although much of the technology within was shared with the Class 87s.
&amp;nbsp;
Construction of the 110mph rated locomotives was completed in 1990 and the fleet was split between different sectors of British Rail – 15 were allocated to InterCity services, five for Rail Express Systems (mail and parcels traffic) and the remaining 30 for Railfreight Distribution. Most of those allocated to Railfreight Distribution would later be downgraded to 75mph and reclassified as 90/1s numbered in the 901xx series following work to isolate the Electric Train Heating and push-pull equipment making them dedicated freight locos.
Upon privatisation the Class 90 fleet was split between Virgin Trains, EWS and Freightliner. By 1999 all of the Class 90/1s acquired by EWS had been converted back to 90/0s due to an increased requirement for passenger locomotives to work contracted ScotRail sleeper trains and for hire to GNER for East Coast Main Line services. Further renumbering by EWS occurred when nine locos were fitted with different brake blocks and these became Class 90/2s numbered in the 902xx series. The Freightliner locos were also converted back to their original specification in the early 2000s.
The Class 90s have carried numerous liveries including three decorated in European liveries for the Freightconnection event in 1992 which coincided with the opening of the Channel Tunnel to freight services. No. 90128 was decorated in SNCB turquoise (Belgium), No. 90129 in DB red (Germany) and No. 90130 in SNCF orange and grey (France) and each carried the name Freightconnection in their respective languages, alongside No. 90022 which was named &amp;lsquo;Freightconnection&amp;rsquo; and carried Railfreight Distribution livery.
&amp;nbsp;
The majority of the Class have carried names whilst in service and the 90s have appeared a variety of other post-Privatisation liveries such as GNER, DB Schenker, First ScotRail, One (Anglia), Greater Anglia, National Express, DRS and Malcolm Logistics. Today, Class 90s remain in operation with Freightliner, DB Cargo UK (ex-EWS/DB Schenker) and most recently Locomotive Services which has acquired Nos. 90001 and 90002 and repainted them into InterCity Swallow livery for use on charters and excursions.</p></description>
