Wright's Lock-Up – Laser-cut kit Wright's Lockup is a small but perfectly formed, versatile OO gauge / 1:76 scale lockup / stores building suitable for industrial, town or harbourside scenes. Based on a real life protoype in Penzance, Cornwall, the building features heavily weathered Flemish Bond brickwork with wooden doors, sash windows, slate roof & downspouts. The side wall also features an optional ghost sign for Wright's Electrical, Hot Water & Sanitary Engineers which would have been the local plumbers & electricians back in the good old days. Also included is an alternative set of buff stone wraps which can be used to give the building a more rural feel.  The kit is supplied with laser-cut parts for ease of assembly and comes with fully weathered paper wraps and roof slates, with no additional painting or weathering required on the main components for a "Realistically Better" finish straight from the pack. The window & doors are supplied laser-cut from our eco-friendly laserboard and are packed with detail including engraved planks, hinges and locks. These will require painting with acrylic paints prior to assembly or colouring with suitable markers. We used a Plastikote Stone color for our test build which we then coated lightly with ground pastels to weather them down for a little less prestine finish. The building consists of two floors and features interior wall wraps for both the brick and stone versions, with white wash & flaking paint for added realism. Ceiling and floor details are also included for the upper floor. There's also plenty of scope for customisation too... with the slates being applied in individual strips it's easy to build it in either pristine or derelict condition (or anywhere in between). And with care, you can also pose the doors open or closed. The design is typical of many buildings of this type that can still be seen all over the British Isles and is supplied with a choice of white painted red brick & whitewashed stone walls. Both finishes feature plenty of weathering for a worn & well-used finish. The kit is supplied with laser-cut parts for ease of assembly with no additional painting or weathering required for a "Realistically Better" finish straight from the pack apart from the windows, doors & laserboard parts, which can be quickly and easily painted & weathered with acrylic paints. The building consists of two components: Workshop/Cart Shed with double sliding doors, small 9 pane window & side door. Doors can be posed open or closed. The store building is separate from the main building enabling you to position it wherever you wish in relation to the main building. We used a Plastikote matt black for our test build which we then dry-brushed with burnt umber, white & slate grey artists acrylics to create a weathered wood look. Stoney's Workshops – Laser-cut kit A versatile OO gauge / 1:76 scale set of 3 laser cut workshop buildings which can be configured in a number of arrangements to suit your requirements. Based on a real life building near to our factory, Stoney's Workshops feature lots of detail and realism captured from the prototype. A mix of a double entrance long workshop with sliding doors, two storey workshop with double, hinged doors to the side and single, hinged personnel door to the front, then a smaller, lean-to style workshop with single, hinged personnel door on the end. There's also the option to build the windows glazed or boarded up, plus guttering and downpipes for added detail. The walls are finished in pre-weathered grey render wraps with lots of added realism including staining, cracks and algae. Interior textures are also provided, finished in worn whitewashed brick, again with a variety of stains and discolouration. Once assembled, the buildings can be arranged however you wish; in a cluster configured to suit your needs, or as individual buildings dotted around your layout or diorama. The kit is straightforward to assemble with paper texture wraps over a series of MDF layers which leave no unsightly visible when construction is complete. Some very small parts are used on the sliding doors, so tweezers are definitely recommended. Suitable for both beginners and the more experienced modeller, this kit is cleverly designed - containing not one, not two, but THREE buildings in one! A barn/store, a workshop with double-width wooden doors, and an open lean-to. The three buildings can be positioned separately or all together as one (as shown). The kit contains interior and exterior wall wraps in our popular old stone texture - instantly transforming an ordinary wooden building into a property rich with character and history. The kit also includes slate roofing strips, corrugated iron roofing wraps, laser-cut windows and doors with engraved planks, hinges and locks. The small window is prototypically boarded up and the upper window can also be half-glazed if required. Doors and window frames require painting before the kit is assembled which can be done with solvent or acrylic based paints. Old Dairy – Laser-cut kit  Based on a real old dairy building situated in Grampound, a little village between Truro and St Austell, this building will look at home on any layout regardless of the era or region you're modelling. The kit is supplied with pre-weathered paper texture wraps to give a realistically better finish straight from the packet. And components apart from the paper wraps are supplied pre-cut for ease of assembly. The windows & doors are supplied laser-cut from our eco-friendly laserboard and are loaded with lots detail including engraved planks, hinges and locks (separately applied - so they are tiny!). There's also a choice between a "slatted gate" style door for the arched doorway or a solid wooden arch topped door. Separately applied downpipes add an extra finishing touch. The building consists of two main "rooms": Main dairy / stores and the the lean-to to the left hand side. A full set of interior wraps are also included so you can pose any of the doors or shutters open should you wish. The walls of the OO gauge barn are finished with our unique TX104-OO rusty, painted corrugated iron texture for a realistically better finish straight from the pack. And the base is wrapped in weathered concrete paper. All textures are supplied pre-weathered, only the framework will need painting & weathering. We used a dark brown acrylic spray then brushed it over with rust coloured weathering powder while the paint was still a little tacky. And components apart from the paper wraps are supplied pre-cut for ease of assembly. The barn isn't really suitable for a beginner as there are some small, delicate parts. But if you take your time with the assembly you will be rewarded with a very detailed building once complete. There is an abundance of opportunities for customization with this oo gauge building kit. You can leave either end wall off, leaving one side and one end open for a more derelict look (or more accessible stores / saw mill building). Coach House & Stables – Laser-cut kit This OO gauge coach house & stables laser cut building kit is ideal for virtually any era model railway layout or 1:76 scale diecast diorama. Ideal for rural and country scenes as a coach house, or it can of course be repurposed as an industrial building or even as a dockside fisherman's cottage with attached boat storage and net loft. It's really up to you how you use it and the options are endless. The coach house & stables features lots of detail such as hinge overlays on the doors, layered, glazed windows, pre-weathered roof slates, painted white stone wall wraps with brick arches. Soot stained chimneys and separately applied drainpipes complete the realistically better finish. There's even the prototypical uneven roofline, just like you see on many older buildings constructed with detailed roof trusses for authenticity. The roof slates are cut to length and pre-weathered with lots of lichen and staining. Simply glue them on to the marked trusses to create a super-realistic roof. The central larger carriage store is separated from the stables & accommodation via internal walls. These sections also feature a floor between the ground floor and the upper floor, allowing you to go to town with interior detailing on these sections. No interior wraps are supplied for these sections. We've also included an optional solid wooden door which you can use in place of the stable door, making it more suitable for use as an industrial workshop with store room and office. Or fisherman's cottage with workshop/boat store and net loft. The kit is straightforward to assemble with paper texture wraps over a series of MDF base layers which leave no unsightly joints visible when construction is complete. As with many of our kits, there are some small, delicate parts in the kit, so tweezers are definitely recommended.  You will need to paint the doors, windows, guttering and downpipes etc as these are supplied unpainted. Artists acrylic paints or "rattle can" spray paints are recommended prior to assembly. Some of the larger unpainted parts can be easily coloured with a simple permanent marker.
