HM7000: 6 BLE Decoder 6 Pin w/ Fine Wire (No Sound) Part of the innovative HM7000 range, this new 6-pin Bluetooth® and DCC decoder is designed to get smaller locomotives working on the HM7000 system. The 6-pin connectors are located on the end of flexible wires, giving you more flexibility when installing the decoder in models with limited space. The decoder is designed to supply 1000mA continuous load to the main motor and a peak demand of 1500mA, making it highly suitable for most N scale locos and small TT, HO and OO locomotives. An R7377 Power Bank can be purchased separately and added to this decoder. We recommend for ease you do this during the first install. The Power Bank will keep the loco operating during short power outages when running over dirty track or complex points.

HM7000: Power Bank Maxi The R7416 Power Bank Maxi is our largest power bank and will keep locomotives with larger motors that require more pulling power, running over any potential dead spots. The space require inside a locomotive for this power bank is 22 x 12 x 10mm.  The Power Bank Maxi can be connected into the current range of HM7000 DCC Bluetooth decoders. A simple plug & play socket means there's no soldering required! Why use one? Your layout will occasionally suffer from dirty track or small electrical dead spots at points and crossings. The small loss of power can cause locomotives to stop, but with DCC Sound Decoders it can also cause the sounds to reset and restart. Avoid both issues by fitting a Power Bank. Perfect locomotive running and optimal control! (The Power Bank is not suitable for use without an HM7000 decoder, connecting it directly to other decoders or directly to the wiring of a model locomotive may cause damage to the Power Bank, your locomotive or your non-HM7000 decoder). Railroad: Royal Mail Travelling Post Office 80331 The Traveling Post Office (TPO) has been a fixture on Britain’s railways since mail was first carried on trains in the 1830s.  The sorting of mail in transit gradually reduced in the 21st century as mechanised sorting at depots became commonplace and concerns about the safety of workers carrying out letter-sorting at increased main line speeds. The last TPO using carriages in the UK took place during the night of 9th January 2004. After that, a fleet of Royal Mail-branded Class 325 EMUs continued to carry parcels by rail, but these too ceased in 2024. TPOs could collect and deposit mail on the move by means of lineside apparatus. Several of these vehicles have survived in preservation. Railroad: 12T Tank Wagon Mobil Black No.64 Based on the Railway Clearing House standard tank wagon design of 1907, hundreds of these 12-ton wagons were used by private owners to transport liquid products, including fuel oil and kerosene, among other products.  The tanks sat on a wooden frame and were secured using steel bracing straps. Railroad: 20T ZTV Brake Van BR Departmental "Dutch" DB950406 Brake vans were an essential fixture on freight trains where the continuous brake was not available. Loose-coupled wagons only had hand-operated ‘sprag’ brakes which had to be applied individually, for example, before descending a gradient.  Trains were prone to broken coupling chains, so the brake van was essential for bringing a train to a halt under such circumstances. From 1968, the requirement for a brake van to be coupled to a fitted train (wagons with vacuum brakes) was removed from the rule book. Railroad: BR Mk1 NKA 94157 "Super GUV" RES Rail Express Services (RES) was the BR sector responsible for the transport of mail and parcels, including the Travelling Post Office. General Utility Vans (GUVs) were used in large numbers to transport mail and parcels, though some were used as newspaper vans.  These vehicles were part of the BR Mk1 coach family and 907 examples were built between 1956 and 1960 by BR at its York, Doncaster and Glasgow works. A number were also produced under contract by the Pressed Steel Company Ltd at Cowley, near Oxford. With a carrying capacity of 13.8 tons (14 tonnes) these multi-door bogie vans were versatile, some even being converted for carrying motor vehicles. Hornby TTA Class A Tank Amoco Triple Pack

TTA Class A Tank Amoco Triple Pack BRT 57484, BRT 57485 and BRT 57486. Amoco was founded in American in 1889 by the Standard Oil Company. During the 1990s, it merged with BP and was owned by the British company from 1998. As a result, it was common to see these wagons coupled to BP-branded wagons.  This model wagon Triple Pack offers a good way to increase the size of your ‘TTA’ tanker train, with each wagon having a different running number; BRT 57484, BRT 57485 and BRT 57486. - OO Scale

Hornby 21T Hopper Grimethorpe Coalite Triple Pack

21T Hopper Grimethorpe Coalite Triple Pack 206, 210 and 640. Grimethorpe Colliery was part of a large and highly productive Coalite facility near Barnsley in South Yorkshire. Coalite was a type of low-temperature coke used as smokeless fuel. Wagons such as these were used on the internal rail system and in coal trains. The colliery closed in 1993 and the Coalite plant closed the following year.  Each highly detailed scale model in this 21T Hopper Wagon Triple Pack has a different running number: 206, 210 and 640. - OO Scale

Hornby Tavern Coach Pack 'At the Sign of the Three Plovers'

BR Kitchen and Buttery Car & Composite Restaurant 'At the Sign of the Three Plovers' Coach Pack  This highly detailed OO gauge model coach pack represents one of eight pairs of vehicles introduced by BR in 1949 to provide catering facilities with a difference.  The idea came from Oliver Bulleid, the former Southern Railway’s Chief Mechanical Engineer. This pair operated on the Eastern Region and consisted of a Composite Dining Car and a ‘Tavern Coach’. Internally, each ‘tavern’ was decorated to mimic an olde English pub, with tiled floor, whitewashed walls, ‘oak’ beams, high-backed settles and illuminated by ‘lanterns’. - OO Scale

BR Mk3 Virgin West Coast 4 Car Coach Pack  Includes: Trailer Standard 42176 Trailer Standard 42177 Trailer Standard 42105 Trailer First 41059 British Rail introduced the production version of the Mk3 coach in 1975 with improved standards of comfort in response to competition from airlines and increased use of private motor cars. Designed and built by BREL, they were initially intended as locomotive-hauled stock, but with the development of the High Speed Train (HST), were soon adapted for use at speeds of up to 125mph (220km/h). The first version of the Mk3 coach had actually been built in 1972, with ten coaches produced for the prototype HST. Mk3 coaches continued to be built until 1988, but multiple units based on the Mk3 body shell were built until the early 1990s. The standard length of a Mk3 coach is 75ft (23m), which is ten feet longer than its predecessor, the Mk2, and is of monocoque construction with an all-welded mild steel stressed skin. Virgin operated several sets of these coaches for use with its HST power cars. Following introduction of its Pendolinos, most of Virgin’s Mk3 coaches moved on to other operators, though it did retain one set for peak time cover and had them refurbished at Doncaster and painted into the same livery as its Pendolino and Voyager trains. However, these too were stood-down in November 2014 when they were transferred to Abellio Greater Anglia. - OO Scale

Railroad: Class 66 66601 Freightliner 60th Green First introduced in 1998, the Class 66 revolutionised the rail freight sector in Britain and have become the most prolific type for heavy freight work. In 2000, a new 66/6 sub-class was created with a lower gear ratio version enabling heavier trains to be hauled, albeit at slower speeds.  A total of 25 were put into service by Freightliner, numbered 66601-625 and some of these have since moved overseas for use with Freightliner Poland. Railroad: Class 66 66601 Freightliner 60th Green (Sound Fitted) First introduced in 1998, the Class 66 revolutionised the rail freight sector in Britain and have become the most prolific type for heavy freight work.  In 2000, a new 66/6 sub-class was created with a lower gear ratio version enabling heavier trains to be hauled, albeit at slower speeds. A total of 25 were put into service by Freightliner, numbered 66601-625 and some of these have since moved overseas for use with Freightliner Poland.  Used mainly on oil, aggregate, and cement trains, 66601 is one of 22 still operating in the UK and, on 18th March 2025, was turned out at Eastleigh Works in a new green ‘Freightliner 60’ livery.  We've faithfully recreated this locomotive in RailRoad model form, keeping plenty of detail but incorporating more durable features, making it ideal for a busy model railway layout. Railroad: BR Class 60 60038 'Avesta Polarit' EWS (Sound Fitted) A growth in demand in the heavy haulage sector led to a review of BR’s available motive power in the 1980s. With 185 locomotives of the Type 5, 3,000+ horsepower category available, made up of its Classes 56 and 58, it was clear that more would be needed, and BR put out an invitation to tender for new locomotives in 1987.  The 100 locomotive order was awarded to Brush in Loughborough, and these entered service between 1989 and 1993. No.60038 was named ‘Bidean nam Bian’ after the Scottish ‘Munro’ in Glen Coe.  With BR’s trainload freight business broken up into shadow franchises, the locomotive became part of Loadhaul, based in the north-east. By 1996, this had become part of EWS and 60038 was named 'Avesta Polarit' after the steel making company at the DFDS Immingham sea terminal on 19th March 2002. Railroad: BR Class 47 47749 'Atlantic Collage' RES This OO gauge model locomotive represents a Class 47 example that emerged from Crewe Works in February 1965 as D1660.  It was allocated to Swansea’s Landore MPD, before being named ‘City of Truro’ at Truro station in June that year. It became 47076 under TOPs, then was reclassified as a 47/4 in November 1984, when it became 47625. In the 1990s, it became part of the RES pool for operating mail and parcels trains and, in November 1995, was modified to 47/7b, with longer-range fuel tanks and equipment for operating with a propelling control vehicle (PCV). It later served at Sheffield Darnall, Tinsley, Finsbury Park, Hitchin, Startford and finally, from May 1968 at Colchester, from where it was withdrawn in February 1984. Railroad: BR Class 37 37422 'Pegasus' Swietelsky Rail Services (Sound Fitted)  Originally new from Vulcan Foundry in February 1965 as D6966, the locomotive this RailRoad model is based on became 37266 under the TOPS numbering system in 1974.  Its career started at Tinsley, Sheffield and it also had postings at Stratford and Landore under BR. In January 1986 it was reclassified to 37/4 and renumbered 37422. The locomotive has worn several liveries and had several different operators, including EWS, DB Schenker, and DRS. It became part of the Harry Needle Railroad Company spot hire fleet based at Barrow Hill, which was taken over by Swietelsky, an Austrian-based railway construction and maintenance contractor, in January 2025. Railroad: GWR County 1013 'County of Dorset' BR Lined Green  The ‘County’ Class was the last of the GWR-designed two-cylinder 4-6-0s, with 30 built at Swindon between 1945 and 1947 to the design of Chief Mechanical Engineer, Frederick Hawksworth.  ‘County of Dorset’ entered service in February 1946 and spent most of its early years in the West Country at Bristol, Plymouth, Truro and Penzance, before transferring to Shrewsbury in December 1951. A new set of carriages was built that was identical to the ‘Coronation’ with four twin articulated coaches, though not the streamlined beavertail observation car, named the ‘West Riding Limited’. Carriages were in pairs, sharing a bogie between the two, thus reducing friction and improving ride quality. The train first ran on 27th September 1937 and achieved an average speed of 63.3mph (101.9km/h) between King’s Cross and Bradford. It was hauled by Gresley's ‘A4’ No. 4492 ‘Dominion of New Zealand’, which had emerged from Doncaster Works only three months earlier. Services were suspended for the duration of the Second World War, but were reinstated in 1949. A modern version of the train is still operated by the present-day LNER with a 6.30am departure from Bradford Forster Square station. The next vehicles in the rake are coaches ‘C’ and ‘D’ and these comprise of two identical first class open coaches which offered enhanced comfort and also had a lavatory at each end. At the Grouping two years later, it became LNER 4744 and then 9523 under the 1946 renumbering scheme, before finally becoming BR 69523 at nationalisation. Withdrawn from New England shed, Peterborough in September 1962, it was purchased by the Gresley Society Trust for preservation the following year. This Collection marks 150 years since Sir Gresley's birth, and this locomotive includes a figure.  With a shiny new blue livery and NEM tension lock couplings, this steam locomotive is a wonderful collector's piece.  Entering service with the LNER as 4498 in Garter blue with streamlined side-skirting and red wheels, this was the 100th Gresley ‘Pacific’ to be built when it emerged from Doncaster Works in October 1937. Allocated to King’s Cross ‘Top Shed’ and used on front-line express services such as the prestigious ‘Coronation’ between London and Edinburgh, ‘SNG’ was built with a single chimney and had stainless steel numbers and letters for the tender added at a general overhaul in January 1939.  After a period in wartime black, when the side-skirts were permanently removed, the locomotive returned to lined Garter blue in March 1947. Painted into BR’s express passenger blue in September 1950, as 60007, it set a post-war steam record speed of 112mph on 23 May 1959. This Collection marks 150 years since Sir Stanier's birth, and this locomotive includes a figure. The ‘Princess Coronation’ Class, also known as the ‘Duchess’ Class, was an enlarged and improved version of William Stanier’s successful ‘Princess Royal’ Class ‘Pacific’. The first ten class members emerged from Crewe Works in a streamlined form during 1937 and five of these were put aside specifically for hauling the prestigious ‘Coronation Scot’ between London Euston and Glasgow Central. These were painted in Caledonian blue and had silver horizontal lining, which matched the carriages they pulled. No. 6220 set a new British steam speed record of 114mph in 1937, but this was beaten by the LNER’s ‘Mallard’ in 1938. Built with a single chimney, 6220 was the last of the original 15 to be fitted with a double blast pipe and chimney in 1944. Several found use in Scotland shunting rail-connected whisky distillery yards – in this case the yeast factory alongside the distillery of the same name, located just south of Menstrie in Clackmannanshire, where sidings connected with the Cambus-Alva branch line.  Works No. 245030 was built in 1947 and worked the factory yard until 1969, when it was sold to William Kerr Ltd in Stirling. Built at Darlington and Doncaster, 146 were produced between 1955 and 1962, but due to their non-standard nature, they were withdrawn early, between February 1967 and June 1972.  Built as D4067 in 1961 at Darlington, this locomotive initially worked at Darnall, Sheffield, followed by Langwith Junction and Shirebrook. Withdrawn in 1970, it was sold to the NCB and used at Betteshanger Colliery in Kent. BR Class 56 56047 Dutch Transrail (TXS Sound Fitted) This Transrail Class 56 OO gauge model locomotive features a striking grey and yellow livery, with sprung metal buffers and NEM tension lock couplings. The highly detailed model is also pre-fitted with HM7000 sound capability for the most authentic experience.  Built at Doncaster Works, 56047 entered service at Toton in July 1978. Transrail Freight was set up as a trainload freight operator based in St Blazey, Cornwall, formed in 1994 from part of BR’s Trainload Freight division during the privatisation of British Rail. During this period, it acquired a number of Class 56 locomotives, retaining the Dutch-style livery but with the addition of Transrail’s logo and markings.  Transrail was one of a number of main line companies to be bought in 1996 to form new freight operator, English Welsh & Scottish (EWS). History The Wiiliam Stanier-designed Class 5 was introduced in 1934 onto the LMS and by the time the last was built in 1951, the class was 842-strong. No. 45473 was completed at Derby in May 1943, entering service as 5473 and spending much of its working life in Scotland, being part of Perth’s allocation at the time of Nationalisation in 1948 and finishing its career at Dundee Tay Bridge. From there, it was withdrawn in November 1966 and subsequently scrapped at W.H. Arnott, Young at Co. Ltd, Carmyle, Glasgow the following February. SECR H Class 161 SECR Green This OO gauge SECR H Class locomotive model is a faithful representation of Harry Wainwright's H Class. With sprung metal buffers and NEM tension lock couplings, this model is DCC ready with an 8-pin socket ready for upgrading to digital control.  Designed by Harry Wainwright, 66 of these locomotives were built for the South Eastern & Chatham Railway at its Ashford Works between 1904 and 1915 for London suburban and semi-fast trains. LNER P2 2004 'Mons Meg' LNER Apple Green 'Mons Meg' is a stunning example of one of Nigel Gresley's P2 engines, sporting a stylish green livery. It has sprung metal buffers and NEM tension lock couplings, with a 21-pin socket ready for upgrade to HM7000 control.  Nigel Gresley designed the P2s for hauling heavy express trains along the demanding route between Edinburgh and Aberdeen. Six were introduced between 1934 and 1936. The first three locomotives differed in appearance, the third having the wedge-shaped front similar to the A4s which was adopted for the remainder of the class. The first two also later converted.  Even then, 2004 was fitted with an experimental butterfly valve blastpipe bypass and the last two also had design differences, meaning that none of the six were built the same. In July 1938, it reached 126mph on Stoke Bank. Entering service in March of that year in LNER Garter blue, it had full side valances and red wheels, as depicted by our highly detailed model. It was renumbered 22 in 1946, by which time it carried wartime plain black. When it was withdrawn from King’s Cross in April 1963, it was in lined BR green and numbered 60022. The locomotive is preserved in its original livery at the National Railway Museum in York. 'Mallard' has always been one of our most popular models. In 2026, we have given the A4 a tooling update and the model now includes the new Hornby steam generator technology, working headlights and tender lights. LNER B12 61516 BR Lined Black (Late)  A shining replica of the BR B12 Class, this OO gauge model is highly detailed, with sprung metal buffers and NEM tension lock couplings. Upgrade to HM7000 with a 21-pin decoder (sold seperately).  Stephen D Holden designed the ‘S69’ inside cylinder 4-6-0s for the Great Eastern Railway. First introduced in 1911, it was the last of 71 built before the Grouping appeared in 1921. However, a further ten were constructed by Beyer, Peacock for the LNER in 1928, by which time they had been designated the ‘B12’ Class.  Built at Stratford Works in 1913, 1516 entered traffic on GER expresses out of London’s Liverpool Street station in the November. In 1924, it was renumbered 8516, then 1516 under the LNER’s 1947 renumbering scheme. LNER B12 8572 LNER Apple Green  This locomotive was one of the final batch of ten ‘B12s’ built by Beyer, Peacock in Manchester in 1928. It was renumbered 1572 by the LNER in 1946, but soon became BR’s 61572 in 1948.  Withdrawn from Norwich Thorpe in September 1961, it was acquired by the Midland & Great Northern Joint Railway Society and moved to the nascent North Norfolk Railway at Sheringham in 1967, where, since completion of its overhaul in 1995, it has been a mainstay of heritage services.  The original is currently out of ticket, undergoing overhaul, so the model is presented in as-preserved condition – the only surviving example of a British inside-cylinder 4-6-0. L&MR Robert Stephenson’s 'Rocket'  For the first time, Stephenson's Rocket is presented as a solo locomotive, with a sleek yellow livery, fixed metal buffers and chain couplings. This highly detailed, diminuitive locomotive model is a must-have model for steam collectors, due to its historical importance and incredible model engineering.  This historically important locomotive was built in 1929 to participate in the Rainhill Trials, a competition set-up by the promoters of the Liverpool and Manchester Railway to find suitable motive power for its opening the following year. Built to the order of his father George (who was the L&MR’s principal engineer at the time), ‘Rocket’ was designed by Robert Stephenson and built at his Forth Street Works in Newcastle-upon-Tyne.  The design was the most advanced in its day and ‘Rocket’ won the Trials. GWR Castle Class 5071 'Spitfire' BR Lined Green (Early)  This locomotive entered service with the GWR at Newton Abbot in June 1938, initially named ‘Clifford Castle’, but this was changed to 'Spitfire' during the Second World War following the aeroplane’s pivotal role in the Battle of Britain during 1940.  It then spent most of its career shedded in the West Country, though after nationalisation, it had spells in the late 1950s at Gloucester and Worcester. The locomotive was fitted with a double chimney and four-row superheater in June 1959, before moving to St. Philip’s Marsh, Plymouth in February 1962, from where it was withdrawn in October 1963.  This detailed OO gauge model depicts 5071 in its original form, with a smart green livery. New to Chester West shed, 5153 entered service in March 1930 and enjoyed a career that lasted almost 35 years.  After moving to Newton Abbot in the 1940s, it had a spell at Kidderminster before reaching Leamington in 1964, which was its final shed, withdrawal coming just three months later. GWR Large Prairie 61xx Class 6126 British Railways Green A lovely addition to any OO gauge layout, this BR Class 61XX Large Prairie Locomotive is gorgeous in green. With sprung metal buffers and NEM tension lock couplings, this is a deligtful, highly detailed steam locomotive.  The ‘61XX’ Class was a direct development of the earlier ‘5101’ Class by Charles Collett, with a total of 70 locomotives turned out at Swindon Works between 1931 and 1935. The main difference was an increase in boiler pressure, which was raised to 225psi and gave a consequent increase in tractive effort.  No. 6126 entered service in October 1931 and spent much of its career based along the main Paddington to Bristol line, with postings at Slough, Southall, Reading, and Didcot. History: Released into BR traffic from Vulcan Foundry as D6971 on 18 March 1965, this locomotive was first allocated to Cardiff Canton. It was rebuilt as a Class 37/4 and renumbered 37418 in 1985 and transferred to Inverness. It received its unusual name ‘An Commun Gaidhealach’ (The Gaelic Association) at Edinburgh in October 1986, before entering the Provincial General Pool from January 1989.  It was renamed ‘Pectindae’ in April 1992, and then ‘East Lancashire Railway’ in April 1994, eventually being sold to a private owner in 2007 by EWS. It is currently on-hire to freight operator Loram Rail and painted in its livery, the ‘An Commun Gaidhealach’ name being reinstated in February 2024. - OO Scale

LMS Patriot Class 45540 'Sir Robert Turnbull' BR Green (Early) This model of BR ‘Patriot’ Class 4-6-0 No. 45540 ‘Sir Robert Turnbull’ is presented in its post-rebuild condition, reflecting its appearance under British Railways ownership. DCC ready with a 21-pin decoder socket, the locomotive is designed with metal sprung buffers and NEM tension lock couplers. History: This locomotive started out as 5901 when it emerged from Crewe Works in August 1933, but was later renumbered to 5540. It was rebuilt with a Stanier taper boiler in October 1947, which promoted it from power class ‘6P’ to ‘7P’. It became 45540 under BR in May 1948 and survived in service until condemned in April 1963 and was scrapped by July that year.  The locomotive’s name, transferred from withdrawn ‘Large Claughton’ 1161, was in honour of Sir Robert Turnbull, former General Manager of the LNWR, who was knighted in 1913. - OO Scale

LMS Patriot Class 5514 'Holyhead' LMS Lined Black This Hornby model of LMS ‘Patriot’ Class 4-6-0 No. 5514 ‘Holyhead’ is finished in accurate period detail as it appeared in the late 1930s. History: Henry Fowler designed the ‘Patriot’ 4-6-0 for the LMS as an upgrade of the LNWR’s ‘Large Claughton’ Class for express passenger work. Built at both Crewe and Derby Works, 42 and ten respectively, 52 entered service between 1930 and 1934. ‘Holyhead’ was new from Crewe in September 1932, numbered 5983, but this was changed to 5514 in August 1938, as represented by the model.  The locomotive would later be rebuilt with a Stanier taper boiler in 1947, before becoming BR 45514, with withdrawal coming at Derby in May 1961, the first of the rebuilt ‘Patriots’ to be condemned. - OO Scale

GWR Saint Class 2920 'Saint David' BR Lined Black (Early) Of the 77 Saint Class members built by GWR between 1902 and 1913, 2920 ‘Saint David’ was one of the 47 that survived beyond nationalisation of Britain’s railways in 1948. Part of the third batch of 20 to be built in 1907, the locomotive was new to Cardiff Canton shed. It underwent several changes during its career, including the fitting of a superheated boiler in 1909 and outside steam pipes in December 1932. This model is presented in BR livery, the condition in which it operated through to its withdrawal in October 1953, by which point it was one of the last four still in service. This model was developed with the helpful guidance from the Didcot Railway Center who kindly gave us access to their archive of drawings and access to the Lady of Legend locomotive. The Saint class model features a powerful 5 pole skew wound motor, flickering firebox and is designed to be fully compatible with the HM7000 21-Pin decoder for full DCC and sound control. LNER Azuma Class 801/2 801207 'Darlington' Train Pack (Rail200) The ‘Azuma’ Class 801/1 and 801/2 sets, were introduced on the East Coast Main Line between 2017 and 2020. They are a development of the Class 800 bi-mode trains in the Hitachi AT300 product range, produced at their Newton Aycliffe facility in the north-east, but unlike their bi-mode counterparts, the Class 801s are the purely electric version of the ‘Azuma’, although they are fitted with ‘emergency’ diesel engines to allow them to limp home in case of overhead power failure.  The Class 801/2s are the full nine-car length trains, whereas the 801/1s operate as shorter five-car sets, often used in pairs. The first of the full-length Class 801/2s ran in November 2019, entering service on front-line London King’s Cross-Edinburgh trains, allowing the bi-mode Class 800/1s to be cascaded onto King’s Cross-Aberdeen services, which in turn replaced the remaining InterCity 125 sets on that route. There are currently 30 Class 801/2 sets in operation. Five of which are named, including Set No. 801207, which on 14 January was unveiled by LNER to mark the 200th Anniversary year of the opening of the Stockton & Darlington Railway.  The power cars carry LNER, ‘Azuma’ and ‘Railway 200’ markings, with the legend ‘Darlington’ towards their front ends. The five-car pack includes powered PDTRBF (Pantograph Driving Trailer Restaurant Buffet First) and non-powered PDTS (Pantograph Driving Trailer Standard) cars, plus three matching coaches; two MS (Motor Standard) cars and a MF (Motor First) car. GWR, Castle Class, 5081 'Lockheed Hudson' GW Green Designed as front-line express passenger locomotives, the GWR ‘4073’ Class ‘Castles’ were built over a long period. The first of 155 new locomotives entered traffic in August 1923, while the last was finished at Swindon in August 1950 under British Railways. Sixteen further locomotives – 15 ‘Stars’ and one-off ‘Pacific’ No. 111 Great Bear – were also rebuilt as ‘Castles’, making 171 in total. No. 5081 was built in 1939 and originally named ‘Penrice Castle’ but was renamed ‘Lockheed Hudson’ in 1941. RailRoad: HFA MGR Hopper Canopy Wagon The hopper wagon is decorated in the style of Railfreight’s coal sector. The hopper body is made of unpainted metal and has a black underframe, which was standard across the eras, and it has the yellow framework that BR Railfreight introduced in 1987. The wagon is numbered 358764.  When originally designed in 1964, some hopper wagons intended for Merry-go-Round (MGR) trains were given an extension to their tops, known as a canopy or top skirt, which allowed their carrying capacity to be increased to 32 tonnes, using the full 45 tonnes gross laden weight allowed for a two-axle wagon. There were three basic types ‘HBA’, ‘HCA’ and ‘HFA’. However, those hoppers fitted with canopies were too high to be used under the majority of colliery screens and they were confined mainly to Scotland until the canopies were eventually removed. - OO Scale

The trains are bi-mode, capable of working along the newly electrified sections of the route, while diesel engines allow them to reach destinations that have not yet been electrified. An intended fleet of purely electric Class 801 ‘IETs’ were instead built to bi-mode specification in 2017/8, due to delays in completing electrification work, and these were designated as Class 800/3s. There are currently 21 of these running as nine-car sets. Sets designated Classes 800/1 and 800/2 operate as nine and five-car sets respectively under ‘Azuma’ branding for operator LNER on the East Coast Main Line. The GWR ‘IET’ sets are numbered 800001-800036 and 800301-800321 and several of these trains have been given two names, one on each of the driving units. Hornby LNER, Gresley Corridor Passenger Brake '4239'

LNER, Gresley Corridor Passenger Brake '4239' This highly detailed Gresley Corridor Full Brake Coach is presented in a varnished teak finish with printed decoration including the LNER branding and its unique number 4239. This coach does not have windows as it wasn’t meant for carrying passengers, it contained the guard’s van. The model has detail underneath and metal wheels for finer running. Hornby’s Gresley 61ft 6in coaching stock represents a standard design that Nigel Gresley continued from his days as CME at the Great Northern Railway, through to the LNER at the Grouping in 1923, with very little change to the basic layout of each vehicle.  Finished in varnished teak, these LNER standard vehicles were ahead of their time, with Pullman-type gangways and buckeye couplings, that would later become standard on BR-built coaching stock. However, the wooden teak-panelled bodies were more traditional than modern, with square mouldings and windows. The company continued to build them until 1942 with little change over the 1923-42 build period. The coaches were mounted on Gresley double-bolster 8ft 6in bogies. - OO Scale

This DVT is compatible with BR Intercity Mk4 coaches and a BR Intercity Class 91 locomotive. The BR InterCity Mk4 DVT was designed to work with Mk4 carriages on the East Coast Main Line as a driver control car working in push-pull mode with Class 91 electric locomotives on InterCity 225 trains. Introduced in 1990, the DVT would normally be marshalled at the south end of the train, adjacent to the First Class carriages. The model is finished in the classic 1990s InterCity ‘Swallow’ livery of white with a dark grey mid-section and a lower red band, with full yellow ends. This DVT is compatible with GNER Mk4 coaches and a GNER Class 91 locomotive. Following privatisation of Britain’s railways in 1996, the first franchise holder on the East Coast Main Line was GNER – Great North Eastern Railway – which operated the route until December 2007. Trains were normally formed of a Class 91 electric locomotive, nine Mk4 carriages and a DVT (Driving Van Trailer). The DVT design was based on the Class 91 locomotive and boasted a full-width cab and a luggage compartment with space for bicycles and a train manager’s office. BR, Gresley Corridor First Class Coach 'E10126E' Gresley’s standard LNER 61ft 6in coaches were solidly built, and despite being a design inherited from the GNR in 1923 and built until 1942, many of them lasted in service until 1965, working alongside BR Mk1 coaches, which they were compatible with.  The varnished teak finish was vulnerable to extremes of weather and required constant maintenance to stop them from looking tatty with peeled varnish and cracked panels. Because of this, BR painted the wooden panels crimson and cream after nationalisation, with all-over crimson for the full brake vehicles. A total of 38 former LNER teak coaches have been preserved, including some that have been restored to a varnished teak finish. - OO Scale

BR, Maunsell Brake Composite Coach 'S6673' When the Southern Railway was formed in 1923, it continued to build coach designs inherited from the main three constituent companies. Richard Maunsell introduced the SR’s first ‘standard’ coaches, building over 1,200 of them. These were formed into 139 sets, as it was the SR’s practice to keep coaches together for long periods of time, with a set number at each end.  These coaches are the later 59ft type built from 1934 with flush sides, constructed with steel panels over a wooden framework. They were painted olive green in early SR days and, from 1939, in Bulleid’s malachite green, before most received the standard BR crimson and cream following nationalisation from 1949. - OO Scale
