Airfix Space Shuttle Gift Set (1:144)

Space Shuttle Gift Set - Plastic Kit Gift Set Includes Glue & Paints - 1:144 Scale - Wingspan 165mm - No. of parts 99   History Surely one of the most impressive sights any human can ever hope to see is the awe-inspiring launch of a mighty rocket spacecraft, be that in person, or more likely, on our TV screens.  Following the success of NASA’s Apollo program, their next phase in space exploration was to develop a partially reusable, low-earth orbital space transportation system to allow more astronauts to travel into space by further extending the boundaries of engineering excellence.  For this spacecraft combination to work as intended, one million individual components had to work in unison. Over 30 years, five of these Space Shuttles successfully achieved earth orbit, with ‘Discovery’ becoming their most active craft.  This incredible spacecraft completed 39 flight missions and spent 365 days in space.

Airfix Saturn V - Gift Set (1:144)

Saturn V - Gift Set History If there’s one machine which underlines man’s mastery of technological innovation and ability to overcome insurmountable challenges, then it's the Saturn V rocket series.  It was the largest and most powerful flying machine the world had ever seen when it made its first test launch in November 1967. A super heavy-lift launch vehicle developed by NASA in support of their Apollo program and America’s desire to place human beings on the moon in the 1960s and 70s, everything about the Saturn V was incredible, from the immense power of its launch sequence to the graceful way it pierced earth’s atmosphere and onwards into space.  The Saturn V stands tall as one of the great engineering achievements of the 20th century. - Plastic Kit Gift Set Includes all glue and paints - 1:144 Scale

Airfix Classic Conflict - Tiger 1 vs Sherman Firefly (1:72)

Classic Conflict Tiger 1 vs Sherman Firefly Set Includes: - PZKPFW Tiger 1 AUSF E Commanded by Michael Wittmann, schwere Panzer-Abteilung 101, Normandy, France, 1944. - Sherman Firefly Vc Staffordshire Yeomanry, 27th Armoured Brigade, Operation Goodwood, Normandy, France, June 1944. - Waterslide transfers/decals - Glue, paints and brushes included - 1:72 Scale The mighty clash of armour which followed the successful Allied landings on the D-Day beaches of Normandy held the potential to determine the outcome of the war. This time, the dominance of the feared Tiger 1 would be challenged by rocket firing Typhoons from the air and a recently introduced Allied tank on the ground - although appearing outwardly similar to the standard Sherman at first glance, the 17-pounder anti-tank gun mounted on the Firefly was more than capable of knocking out a Tiger. The Germans soon learned to look for the long barrelled Sherman's first in any engagement and to make the Firefly a priority target. However, there were so many Shermans in Normandy that misidentification was highly likely and could prove fatal. The days of the mighty Tigers dominance may have been numbered, but no Allied tank commander would relish the prospect of facing one in combat.
