MR 3835 (4F) w/ Johnson-Deeley Tender 3850 LMS Black
The 4Fs were simple yet beautiful machines and the Branchline model pays homage to that with high fidelity mouldings for the main components like the smokebox, boiler, firebox and cab, which are all mounted on a diecast metal running plate. Countless separate detailing parts are then added like the metal handrails, turned brass safety valves, lamp irons and lubricators. Sprung metal buffers are fitted to both bufferbeams.
The locomotive’s diecast chassis is enhanced with brake blocks, brake rigging and sandboxes with separate wire sandpipes, whilst between the frames a representation of the inside motion is present. This attention to detail extends to the tender, while the tender drawbar is adjustable to suit individual layout conditions and electrical connections are incorporated into the drawbar.
Look inside the cab and you will find a sublime level of detail; the boiler backhead boasts an array of separately fitted pipework, controls and dials, all of which are enhanced further with bespoke decoration. A poseable fallplate is fitted to the rear of the cab to complete the look.
The Branchline 4F runs as well as it looks thanks to a power full three pole motor and diecast metal gearbox. The locomotive driving wheels run in separate metal bearings and all six driving wheels are equipped with electrical pickups, tender pickups are included too. The tender houses a 21 Pin decoder socket and pre-fitted speaker, making it easy to upgrade this model to DCC or DCC sound.

The Great Central Railway was a big mover of goods and amongst the locomotives it built for this purpose were the 9J 0-6-0s. Upon becoming part of the LNER in 1924 the 9Js were reclassified as J11s and this designation stayed remained into British Railways life and until withdrawal. Nicknamed ‘Pom Poms’ because their exhaust noise sounded very similar to the guns of the same name, these freight workhorses are replicated in OO scale by Bachmann Branchline.
The J11s carried all the hallmarks of a locomotive designed by the GCR’s Chief Mechanical Engineer John G. The distinctive Robinson cab is another high-fidelity moulding, within which boiler backhead is replicated using an array of separately fitted pipework, controls and dials, all of which are enhanced further with bespoke decoration.
The GCR tender has a distinctive look too with its high capacity and flared top edges, and again these trademark features are captured in miniature using high-fidelity mouldings.
LNER Flying Scotsman & GWR Pendennis Castle (Australian Tour) Train Pack
In 1988, Australia celebrated its bicentenary and, to mark the occasion, the world-famous ‘Flying Scotsman’ was invited to travel from Britain to take part in a series of railtours that were part of the ‘Aus Steam 88’ Festival, arriving in October that year.
Already resident in Western Australia since 1977, in the care of the Pilbara Railway Historical Society, former GWR ‘Castle’ Class 4-6-0 ‘Pendennis Castle’ was moved by road to Perth in early 1989 to operate alongside its one-time rival ‘A3’ Class ‘Pacific’. This unlikely reunion occurred almost 9,000 miles from where a week-long locomotive exchange once took place between the LNER and GWR, in April 1925.
This LNER and GWR Train Pack celebrates that landmark event in Australia 37 years ago in 1989. Featuring OO gauge locomotive model replicas of 'Flying Scotsman' and 'Pendennis Castle', these highly detailed designs include sprung metal buffers and NEM tension lock couplings for smooth rake creation. Add a 21-pin decoder to upgrade to HM7000 control.

LNER A4 4498 'Sir Nigel Gresley' w/ Figure (Limited Edition) (150th Anniversary Collection)
The LNER Class A4 Sir Nigel Gresley model locomotive is a limited edition model and part of The Great Railway Engineers Collection. This Collection marks 150 years since Sir Gresley's birth, and this locomotive includes a figure.
With a shiny new blue livery and NEM tension lock couplings, this steam locomotive is a wonderful collector's piece.
Entering service with the LNER as 4498 in Garter blue with streamlined side-skirting and red wheels, this was the 100th Gresley ‘Pacific’ to be built when it emerged from Doncaster Works in October 1937. Allocated to King’s Cross ‘Top Shed’ and used on front-line express services such as the prestigious ‘Coronation’ between London and Edinburgh, ‘SNG’ was built with a single chimney and had stainless steel numbers and letters for the tender added at a general overhaul in January 1939.
After a period in wartime black, when the side-skirts were permanently removed, the locomotive returned to lined Garter blue in March 1947. Painted into BR’s express passenger blue in September 1950, as 60007, it set a post-war steam record speed of 112mph on 23 May 1959. Withdrawn in February 1966, by now in BR green, it was saved for preservation by the A4 Locomotive Society.

LMS Streamlined 6220 'Coronation' w/ Figure (Limited Edition) (150th Anniversary Collection)
The LMS Streamlined 'Coronation' model locomotive is a limited edition item and part of The Great Railway Engineers Collection. This Collection marks 150 years since Sir Stanier's birth, and this locomotive includes a figure. With a shiny bold red livery and NEM tension lock couplings, this steam locomotive is a must-have for collectors.
The ‘Princess Coronation’ Class, also known as the ‘Duchess’ Class, was an enlarged and improved version of William Stanier’s successful ‘Princess Royal’ Class ‘Pacific’. The first ten class members emerged from Crewe Works in a streamlined form during 1937 and five of these were put aside specifically for hauling the prestigious ‘Coronation Scot’ between London Euston and Glasgow Central. These were painted in Caledonian blue and had silver horizontal lining, which matched the carriages they pulled.
No. 6220 set a new British steam speed record of 114mph in 1937, but this was beaten by the LNER’s ‘Mallard’ in 1938. Built with a single chimney, 6220 was the last of the original 15 to be fitted with a double blast pipe and chimney in 1944. The locomotive’s streamlined casing was removed in November 1946, and it finished its career in its rebuilt form with smoke deflectors as BR’s 46220 in April 1963.

LNER A4 4468 'Mallard' LNER Garter Blue (Sound/Smoke Fitted)
One of the most famous of all steam locomotives, ‘Mallard’ still holds the world speed record for steam. In July 1938, it reached 126mph on Stoke Bank.
Entering service in March of that year in LNER Garter blue, it had full side valances and red wheels, as depicted by our highly detailed model. It was renumbered 22 in 1946, by which time it carried wartime plain black. When it was withdrawn from King’s Cross in April 1963, it was in lined BR green and numbered 60022.
The locomotive is preserved in its original livery at the National Railway Museum in York. 'Mallard' has always been one of our most popular models. In 2026, we have given the A4 a tooling update and the model now includes the new Hornby steam generator technology, working headlights and tender lights.

LNER B12 61516 BR Lined Black (Late)
A shining replica of the BR B12 Class, this OO gauge model is highly detailed, with sprung metal buffers and NEM tension lock couplings. Upgrade to HM7000 with a 21-pin decoder (sold seperately).
Stephen D Holden designed the ‘S69’ inside cylinder 4-6-0s for the Great Eastern Railway. First introduced in 1911, it was the last of 71 built before the Grouping appeared in 1921. However, a further ten were constructed by Beyer, Peacock for the LNER in 1928, by which time they had been designated the ‘B12’ Class.
Built at Stratford Works in 1913, 1516 entered traffic on GER expresses out of London’s Liverpool Street station in the November. In 1924, it was renumbered 8516, then 1516 under the LNER’s 1947 renumbering scheme. A year later it became BR’s 61516 and was withdrawn from Cambridge in July 1958.

This locomotive was one of the final batch of ten ‘B12s’ built by Beyer, Peacock in Manchester in 1928. It was renumbered 1572 by the LNER in 1946, but soon became BR’s 61572 in 1948.
Withdrawn from Norwich Thorpe in September 1961, it was acquired by the Midland & Great Northern Joint Railway Society and moved to the nascent North Norfolk Railway at Sheringham in 1967, where, since completion of its overhaul in 1995, it has been a mainstay of heritage services.
The original is currently out of ticket, undergoing overhaul, so the model is presented in as-preserved condition – the only surviving example of a British inside-cylinder 4-6-0. This highly detailed model features sprung metal buffers and NEM tension lock couplings for effortless rake-building.

GWR Saint Class 2920 'Saint David' BR Lined Black (Early)
Of the 77 Saint Class members built by GWR between 1902 and 1913, 2920 ‘Saint David’ was one of the 47 that survived beyond nationalisation of Britain’s railways in 1948. Part of the third batch of 20 to be built in 1907, the locomotive was new to Cardiff Canton shed. It underwent several changes during its career, including the fitting of a superheated boiler in 1909 and outside steam pipes in December 1932. This model is presented in BR livery, the condition in which it operated through to its withdrawal in October 1953, by which point it was one of the last four still in service.
This model was developed with the helpful guidance from the Didcot Railway Center who kindly gave us access to their archive of drawings and access to the Lady of Legend locomotive.
The Saint class model features a powerful 5 pole skew wound motor, flickering firebox and is designed to be fully compatible with the HM7000 21-Pin decoder for full DCC and sound control.

Dublo: BR (Early) Princess Coronation Duchess of Buccleuch 46230

Also known as the ‘Duchess’ Class, Stanier’s ‘Princess Coronations’ were among the biggest and most powerful express passenger locomotives in Britain.
Thirty-five were built at Crewe Works between 1937 and 1948, many having streamlined casing. Ten were set aside for hauling the prestigious ‘Coronation Scot’ between London Euston and Glasgow. No. 46230 wasn’t one of those, but it was the first of the third batch of locomotives, which consisted of five non-streamlined versions, and went new to Camden in June 1938 as LMS No. 6230.
At Nationalisation in 1948, the locomotive became BR No. 46230 and was painted in lined Brunswick green as depicted by the model. At the time, the locomotive was based at Polmadie shed in Glasgow, from where it was withdrawn in December 1963.

The Midland Railway Class 1532, alongside a number of similar 0-4-4T designs, formed the backbone of Midland Railway local and light passenger duties for decades, and now the OO scale model of this ornate prototype returns to the Bachmann Branchline range.
Although the first examples were built in 1881, almost seventy years later British Railways inherited many of these Victorian machines following Nationalisation and set them to work on the branch lines and local services with which they were already very familiar. Reproduced as this marvel in miniature, the Branchline model comes packed with an impressive level of detail wherever you look. A significant proportion of the 1P is made from diecast metal, with fine engraving and detailing, which is complemented by precision moulded components capturing every aspect of the prototype in high fidelity. Sprung buffers are fitted to each bufferbeam, whilst in the cab, the locomotive controls are faithfully captured and decorated authentically.

The Midland Railway Class 1532, alongside a number of similar 0-4-4T designs, formed the backbone of Midland Railway local and light passenger duties for decades, and now the OO scale model of this ornate prototype returns to the Bachmann Branchline range.
The LMS embarked on a programme to replace the 1P’s original round-top boilers with Belpaire boilers and No. 1370 is one such locomotive to have undergone this treatment. A miniature marvel, the Branchline model is packed with an impressive level of detail wherever you look.

The ‘Jinty’ is a timeless classic and we are delighted to welcome this LMS workhorse back to the Bachmann Branchline OO scale range with this model of No. 16564 in LMS Black livery. Taking advantage of the technical upgrades undertaken to the popular Branchline model a few years ago, the ‘Jinty’ combines a powerful 3 pole motor with a Next18 DCC decoder socket and has space for a speaker for those wishing to add sound – or why not opt for our SOUND FITTED model which has a Speaker and DCC Sound Decoder pre-fitted.
The Bachmann Branchline model combines a chassis that is sure to provide smooth and powerful running and which is detailed with brake blocks, brake rigging, sandboxes and sandpipes, with a high fidelity bodyshell that is mounted to a diecast running plate. The model is adorned with numerous separately-fitted detail parts including the handrails, lamp irons and vacuum pipes, whilst the safety valves are also separate additions and are of metal construction. Inside the cab a detailed boiler back-head can be found, decorated to the same high standard as the exterior of the model with its exquisite livery application using authentic colours, logos and fonts.

GWR 94XX Pannier Tank 9463 BR Black (Late Crest)
The 94xx Pannier Tank returns to the Bachmann Branchline range and with its unconventional appearance – with large water tanks and extended smokebox – this model will bring a real presence to any model railway. A quintessential part of the GWR for many decades, the Pannier Tank design was developed and refined before the 94xx, the final design of GWR tank engine, was produced. No. 9466, as depicted by this model, one of only two preserved examples, found fame after returning to steam in the mid-1980s and operated on the mainline hauling ‘Steam on the Met’ rail tours.
Features:

Pristine BR Black (Late Crest) livery
Running No. 9463
Accessory Pack
NEM Coupling Pockets
Sprung Buffers
Powerful Coreless Motor
Firebox Glow (on analogue) / Firebox Glow & Flicker (on DCC)
Speaker Fitted
SOUND FITTED – Fitted with a ESU Loksound V5DCC Sound Decoder
Length 138mm

Take a closer look at the Branchline model and you will see a wealth of detail, from the separately fitted pipe runs that extend all the way from the front bufferbeam to the back, to the modelling of the inside motion which is authentically decorated too. There are handrails aplenty – all separately fitted of course – whilst the metal lamp brackets, separate smokebox door dart and whilst with guard and supply pipes all catch the eye. Sprung buffers are fitted at the front and rear along with a copper cap to the chimney. Look inside the cab and a full complement of controls and dials is present, all decorated accordingly, which is only added to by the firebox lighting system which adds a further dimension of realism to every model.
Technically the 94xx shines as well, with a Next18 DCC decoder socket paired with an integrated speaker making SOUND FITTED models an option if you wish to enjoy sound effects when operating your model railway. The powerful coreless motor drives the rear axle and electrical collection comes from all wheels, whilst each axle is fitted with a pair of separate metal bearings.

Locomotive information and history:
Having completed nearly 90,000 miles of test running since new, Sir Nigel Gresley's W1 4-6-4 No. 10000 entered Darlington Works on 21 August 1935 for what was anticipated to be a major overhaul and modification. During this period Gresley decided that it was time to rebuild 10000 as a three cylinder locomotive with a conventional firetube boiler. Subsequently, 10000 was moved to the Doncaster Works on 13 October 1936 and this is where the first drawing for the modification were being prepared.
When 10000 was finally released from Doncaster Works in November 1937, it was a significantly different locomotive, being fitted with a diagram 111 boiler that was very similar to the diagram 108 boiler fitted to No. 2006 'Wolf of Badenoch', and with a streamlined casing to the same pattern as the A4 class. As many components as possible from the original W1 were used in the rebuild, including the frames, which were shortened by 1 ½ feet at the front end. Other items, where needed, were sourced from the A4 class, the A3 class or, like the front bogie, from the B17 and an experimental double Kylchap blastpipe and chimney was fitted. The locomotive was turned out in Garter Blue as per some of the A4's (in 1937 this became a standard livery).
The cab, while similar to that of the A4 class, 60700 was considerably longer and this led to the locomotive's tender's coal delivery chute having to be lengthened to compensate for the extra distance from the firebox doors. The original tender was retained, but with superficial modifications, such as to the curvature of the front plates and the addition of streamlined plating to the front and rear, although this was partially removed just a year later in 1938.
Up to the outbreak of war in 1939 and during the war years, 10000 worked mainly on Kings Cross main line duties and with its power and smooth riding it was a popular engine with the LNER's drivers, though less so with the firemen due to the distance between the shovelling plate and the firehole door. The locomotive also became more 'fitter' friendly after April 1942 when the skirting was removed from ahead and behind the outside cylinders to improve access in wartime conditions. At this time the 10000 was painted in wartime Black livery and with only 'N E' on the tender sides.
By 1946 and now repainted in Garter blue livery, the corridor tender was swapped for the streamlined non-corridor tender from 4462 (BR 60004) William Whitelaw and the locomotive was engaged in more varied duties, working occasional passenger services to Leeds and Cambridge from Kings Cross alongside the occasional 'lodging' turns to Newcastle. By 1948 under the new British Railways, the locomotive received the number 60700 and "British Railways" insignia on the tender in Gills Sans font.
Following allocation to Doncaster on 25 October 1953, 60700 became a more frequent visitor to Leeds and also worked turns to Sheffield, as well as hauling Doncaster to Peterborough passenger services and various braked goods trains. In a similar circumstance to 10000 never receiving its proposed name of 'British Enterprise' in November 1929, 60700 never received its intended name of 'Pegasus', for which the nameplates were cast on 13 April 1951. At this time the locomotive lost its Garter Blue livery for the new "Express Passenger Blue" with white and black lining.
After an interesting and slightly troubled life, the locomotive was scrapped at its Darlington birthplace in 1959. Interesting to note is that as 60700 was going into works for scrapping, the original marine boiler the locomotive was fitted with, had been perched on bricks as steam raising boiler outside the works and outlasted the locomotive by a few years.

Locomotive information:
The British Railways Standard 9F Class was a 2-10-0 steam locomotive, the last of the standardised BR designs. The Robert Riddles design was intended as a long distance heavy express freight locomotive. In total 251 of the class were produced between January 1954 and March 1960, with the final locomotive No. 92220 'Evening Star' being the last steam locomotive built by British Railways.
The huge length of the 10 coupled driving wheels proved problematic when faced with tight curves, a situation that freight haulage would make inevitable. A solution was found by removing the flanges from the centre driving wheel and reducing the size on the flanges on the second and fourth driving axle's wheels.
Riddles had chosen the 2-10-0 wheel configuration in-order to spread the load of the boiler over a greater area. This meant that the boiler had to be raised considerably compared to other designs to allow the firebox to sit above the trailing driving wheels. As a result, the 9F features a distinctive void between the suspended boiler and the footplate.
In operation the class proved extremely versatile. Not only did the 9F excel as a freight locomotive, but when required it also succeeded as a passenger locomotive. Reports even suggest that when 92220 'Evening Star' was used to pull the Red Dragon express service between Cardiff and London it was forced to delay its arrival to allow the restaurant services to be completed, having outperformed the normal Britannia Class locomotives used on the service.
This was not the only time 9Fs had been recorded outperforming dedicated express locomotives and on such services the locomotives were capable of running at over 90mph. This combination of high speed, fast acceleration and powerful hauling capabilities mean that many consider the class to be pinnacle of British steam locomotive design.
Locomotive numbers 92165-92167 were built with a mechanical stoker. This system used a helical screw to move coal from the tender straight into the firebox. This meant that coal could be burnt a faster rate than a fireman could maintain otherwise.
Systems like this proved extremely useful on long distance American railways however in Britain it was rare for a locomotive to require such as high rate of coal delivery over a long period of time meaning that a good fireman could prove just as effective.
Locomotive 92002 was the third such locomotive to be constructed by BR, being built at Crewe in 1954. The locomotive was outshopped with the BR1G tender and in the usual BR black colour scheme. The locomotive would go on to be one of the 106 locomotives withdrawn in 1967, the locomotive would not be preserved.
