SR, Merchant Navy 21C1 'Channel Packet' (TXS Steam Generator) Locomotive 21C1 'Channel Packet' was the first of the Merchant Navy class, entering service in 1941 at Salisbury and then Exmouth Junction from 1942. Renumbered '35001' under British Railways in 1948, 'Channel Packet' was allocated to Stewarts Lane from 1957 until rebuilding in 1959.
