LMS 5XP 'Patriot' 5551 'The Unknown Warrior' LMS Lined Crimson (Sound Fitted) Add some LMS express power to your locomotive line up with the Bachmann Branchline LMS Patriot. The LMS built 52 of these locomotives for express passenger duties but sadly none were preserved, however The LMS Patriot Project was launched in 2008 to build a replica Patriot Class locomotive to represent this long-lost class and create a national memorial engine, recognising the role that class leader No. 5500 performed for the LMS from 1937. Bachmann is proud to support The LMS Patriot Project and by producing this model of ‘the Unknown Warrior’ we will be helping towards the completion of its full size counterpart. Boasting a high level of detail, the Branchline Patriot is constructed with a diecast metal running plate paired with a precision moulded boiler, firebox and cab capturing the loco’s distinctive appearance, most notably the parallel boiler and Fowler-designed cab. Etched metal smoke deflectors are then added, along with countless separate detailing parts like the metal handrails, turned brass safety valves, lamp irons and lubricators. The locomotive’s diecast chassis is enhanced with brake blocks, brake rigging and sandboxes with separate wire sandpipes. Moving to the tender and the locomotive to tender drawbar is adjustable to suit individual layout conditions, whilst electrical connections are incorporated into the drawbar and a poseable fallplate is fitted to the tender, which itself is another precision moulded part, with several separately applied details including the lamp irons, tank vents, coal rails and handwheels. A realistic coal load is included whilst the tender chassis sports brake rigging and water pick-up gear. Sprung metal buffers are fitted to both the front of the locomotive and the rear of the tender. Within the cab, a detailed boiler backhead is present and the pipework and controls are enhanced with individual decoration. The ventilator on the cab roof is a separate part, allowing it to be posed in the open or closed position, or somewhere in between. The high level of decoration is not reserved only for the cab interior of course, and the model boasts an authentic rendition of the BR Lined Green livery complete with full-colour early emblems. The beautifully crafted livery application is finished with precision printed details like the running number, shed code and builders plaques, whilst etched nameplates are supplied for user-fitting to complete the look of this express locomotive. With a powerful three pole motor and a proven drive train, the Branchline Patriot is a surefooted machine that boasts electrical pickups from the driving wheels and tender wheels. Meanwhile, DCC provision comes in the form of a 21 Pin decoder socket and it’s easy to fit a speaker if you’re adding sound. GCR 9J (J11) 64305 BR Black (Early Emblem) (Sound Fitted) The Great Central Railway was a big mover of goods and amongst the locomotives it built for this purpose were the 9J 0-6-0s. Upon becoming part of the LNER in 1924 the 9Js were reclassified as J11s and this designation stayed remained into British Railways life and until withdrawal. Nicknamed ‘Pom Poms’ because their exhaust noise sounded very similar to the guns of the same name, these freight workhorses are replicated in OO scale by Bachmann Branchline. The J11s carried all the hallmarks of a locomotive designed by the GCR’s Chief Mechanical Engineer John G. Robinson and these features are replicated on the Branchline model using a precision moulded boiler, smokebox and firebox mounted on a diecast metal running plate. The distinctive Robinson cab is another high-fidelity moulding, within which boiler backhead is replicated using an array of separately fitted pipework, controls and dials, all of which are enhanced further with bespoke decoration. The GCR tender has a distinctive look too with its high capacity and flared top edges, and again these trademark features are captured in miniature using high-fidelity mouldings. Coupling to the locomotive via a drawbar that is adjustable to suit individual layout conditions, electrical connections are integrated into it and a hinged fallplate is also fitted to the tender. Across the model separate components are added, from the metal handrails and sprung metal buffers, to the lamp irons at the front and rear, to complete the look of this freight machine. The locomotive’s diecast chassis is enhanced with brake blocks, brake rigging and sandboxes with separate wire sandpipes, whilst between the frames a representation of the inside motion is present. The black colour scheme is replicated with the usual care and attention that you expect from Bachmann Branchline, resulting in a paint finish that is rich and consistent throughout. Details like the running number, plates and plaques are then added using precision printing techniques for full authenticity. The Branchline J11 runs as well as it looks thanks to a power full three pole motor and diecast metal gearbox. The locomotive driving wheels run in separate metal bearings and all six driving wheels are equipped with electrical pickups, tender pickups are included too. LNWR G2 574 LNWR Black - DCC Sound Fitted The London & North Western Railway (LNWR) was known as the Premier Line and one of its premier freight locomotives, in terms of power and ability at least, was the G2 Class. This Bachmann Branchline model brings the G2 to OO Scale with a high fidelity rendition of the early-twentieth century powerhouse. With an impressive level of detail and a high performance mechanism, the Branchline G2 is the complete package and now for the first time, this model is available with the option of SOUND FITTED. The model employs a diecast running plate, along with further metal components to provide an impressive weight ensuring the model’s strength and power match its prototype’s. Meanwhile, those components produced in plastic are precision moulded, with details such as rivets and boiler bands crisply reproduced. Separate parts are then added to enhance the authenticity of the model further, from the metal handrails to the whistle and safety valves, each of which are turned brass. The smokebox door is hinged and can be posed open or closed, whilst within the cab, controls, dials and pipework are all moulded authentically and decorated accordingly. The locomotive’s diecast chassis is enhanced with brake blocks, brake rigging and sandboxes with separate wire sandpipes. Driving wheels are cast to the correct LNWR pattern, whilst the third pair of driving wheels are flangeless, as on the real locomotives. Moving to the tender and the locomotive to tender drawbar is adjustable to suit individual layout conditions, whilst electrical connections are incorporated into the drawbar and a poseable fallplate is fitted to the tender – not only is this a prototypical feature but it serves to reduce the visual impact of any gap in this area which may be necessitated by operating conditions. The tender itself is finely moulded, with several separately applied details including the lamp irons, tank vents, fire tool holder and handwheels. A realistic coal load is included whilst the tender chassis includes brake rigging and metal wheelsets are employed. LNWR G2 9446 LMS Black (Sound Fitted) The London & North Western Railway (LNWR) was known as the Premier Line and one of its premier freight locomotives, in terms of power and ability at least, was the G2 Class, and their later equivalents, the G2As. The Bachmann Branchline model brings the G2 to OO Scale with a high fidelity rendition of the early-twentieth century powerhouse and comes complete with SOUND FITTED. This model of No. 9446 forms part of our new Railway Celebrations range and depicts the locomotive that took part in the 100th Anniversary celebrations of the opening of the Stockton & Darlington Railway. In 1925, to mark the centenary, a celebration of railways featuring locomotives from the past century was put on by the London & North Eastern Railway (LNER). Opened by the Duke and Duchess of York – later King Geroge VI and Queen Elizabeth – a procession of locomotives took place over some six miles of line between Stockton and Darlington, passing the royal grandstand and delighting the hundreds of thousands of onlookers who turned out to witness the celebrations. The parade of 53 locomotives intended to showcase the evolution of the steam locomotive, from the early examples to modern designs. The first London & North Western Railway (LNWR) 0-8-0 locomotives were built in 1893, however the G2 was somewhat younger, being built between 1921 and 1922 and No. 9446 was one of 60 locomotives built to this design at Crewe Works. Outshopped as LNWR No. 1012, the locomotive was the first G2 to receive London, Midland & Scottish Railway (LMS) numbering, becoming No. 9446 which was applied in June 1925, along with LMS livery with a high gloss finish in preparation for its participation in the centenary celebrations. No. 9446 would become BR No. 49446 upon Nationalisation in 1948 and the locomotive remained in traffic until April 1964 when it was withdrawn and subsequently scrapped. The Bachmann Branchline model employs a diecast running plate, along with further metal components to provide an impressive weight ensuring the model’s strength and power match its prototype’s. Meanwhile, those components produced in plastic are precision moulded, with details such as rivets and boiler bands crisply reproduced. Separate parts are then added to enhance the authenticity of the model further, from the metal handrails to the whistle and safety valves, each of which are turned brass. The smokebox door is hinged and can be posed open or closed, whilst within the cab, controls, dials and pipework are all moulded authentically and decorated accordingly. The locomotive’s diecast chassis is enhanced with brake blocks, brake rigging and sandboxes with separate wire sandpipes. Driving wheels are cast to the correct LNWR pattern, whilst the third pair of driving wheels are flangeless, as on the real locomotives. Moving to the tender and the locomotive to tender drawbar is adjustable to suit individual layout conditions, whilst electrical connections are incorporated into the drawbar and a poseable fallplate is fitted to the tender – not only is this a prototypical feature but it serves to reduce the visual impact of any gap in this area which may be necessitated by operating conditions. The tender itself is finely moulded, with several separately applied details including the lamp irons, tank vents, fire tool holder and handwheels. A realistic coal load is included whilst the tender chassis includes brake rigging and metal wheelsets are employed. Hunslet Austerity HC1775 BR Black Early Emblem 68025 - DCC Sound This locomotive was one of a batch of 36 Austerities by Hudswell Clarke of Leeds. This particular one was completed in November 1944 and carried the WD number 71498. Purchased by the LNER in June 1946 the locomotive was classified as a J94 and numbered 8025. The distinctive extended bunker was fitted in November 1949 when it was renumbered 68025 and gained the early BR emblem. The locomotive was based at Darlington 51A until withdrawal in 1963. The locomotive did not survive and was cut up shortly after. Taking advantage of the technical upgrades undertaken to the popular Branchline model a few years ago, the ‘Jinty’ combines a powerful 3 pole motor with a Next18 DCC decoder socket and has space for a speaker for those wishing to add sound – or why not opt for our SOUND FITTED model which has a Speaker and DCC Sound Decoder pre-fitted. The Bachmann Branchline model combines a chassis that is sure to provide smooth and powerful running and which is detailed with brake blocks, brake rigging, sandboxes and sandpipes, with a high fidelity bodyshell that is mounted to a diecast running plate. The model is adorned with numerous separately-fitted detail parts including the handrails, lamp irons and vacuum pipes, whilst the safety valves are also separate additions and are of metal construction. Inside the cab a detailed boiler back-head can be found, decorated to the same high standard as the exterior of the model with its exquisite livery application using authentic colours, logos and fonts.

GWR 94XX Pannier Tank 9463 BR Black (Late Crest) The 94xx Pannier Tank returns to the Bachmann Branchline range and with its unconventional appearance – with large water tanks and extended smokebox – this model will bring a real presence to any model railway. A quintessential part of the GWR for many decades, the Pannier Tank design was developed and refined before the 94xx, the final design of GWR tank engine, was produced. No. 9466, as depicted by this model, one of only two preserved examples, found fame after returning to steam in the mid-1980s and operated on the mainline hauling ‘Steam on the Met’ rail tours. There are handrails aplenty – all separately fitted of course – whilst the metal lamp brackets, separate smokebox door dart and whilst with guard and supply pipes all catch the eye. Sprung buffers are fitted at the front and rear along with a copper cap to the chimney. Look inside the cab and a full complement of controls and dials is present, all decorated accordingly, which is only added to by the firebox lighting system which adds a further dimension of realism to every model. Technically the 94xx shines as well, with a Next18 DCC decoder socket paired with an integrated speaker making SOUND FITTED models an option if you wish to enjoy sound effects when operating your model railway. The powerful coreless motor drives the rear axle and electrical collection comes from all wheels, whilst each axle is fitted with a pair of separate metal bearings. - Era 5 - OO Scale
