HM7000: 6 BLE Decoder 6 Pin w/ Fine Wire (No Sound) Part of the innovative HM7000 range, this new 6-pin Bluetooth® and DCC decoder is designed to get smaller locomotives working on the HM7000 system. The 6-pin connectors are located on the end of flexible wires, giving you more flexibility when installing the decoder in models with limited space. The decoder is designed to supply 1000mA continuous load to the main motor and a peak demand of 1500mA, making it highly suitable for most N scale locos and small TT, HO and OO locomotives. An R7377 Power Bank can be purchased separately and added to this decoder. We recommend for ease you do this during the first install. The Power Bank will keep the loco operating during short power outages when running over dirty track or complex points.

HM7000: Power Bank Maxi The R7416 Power Bank Maxi is our largest power bank and will keep locomotives with larger motors that require more pulling power, running over any potential dead spots. The space require inside a locomotive for this power bank is 22 x 12 x 10mm.  The Power Bank Maxi can be connected into the current range of HM7000 DCC Bluetooth decoders. A simple plug & play socket means there's no soldering required! Why use one? Your layout will occasionally suffer from dirty track or small electrical dead spots at points and crossings. The small loss of power can cause locomotives to stop, but with DCC Sound Decoders it can also cause the sounds to reset and restart. Avoid both issues by fitting a Power Bank. Perfect locomotive running and optimal control! (The Power Bank is not suitable for use without an HM7000 decoder, connecting it directly to other decoders or directly to the wiring of a model locomotive may cause damage to the Power Bank, your locomotive or your non-HM7000 decoder). No.62046 emerged from the North British Locomotive Works in Glasgow in October 1949 and was first allocated to Darlington shed. The locomotive is preserved in its original livery at the National Railway Museum in York. 'Mallard' has always been one of our most popular models. First introduced in 1911, it was the last of 71 built before the Grouping appeared in 1921. However, a further ten were constructed by Beyer, Peacock for the LNER in 1928, by which time they had been designated the ‘B12’ Class.  Built at Stratford Works in 1913, 1516 entered traffic on GER expresses out of London’s Liverpool Street station in the November. In 1924, it was renumbered 8516, then 1516 under the LNER’s 1947 renumbering scheme. LMS Patriot Class 45540 'Sir Robert Turnbull' BR Green (Early) This model of BR ‘Patriot’ Class 4-6-0 No. 45540 ‘Sir Robert Turnbull’ is presented in its post-rebuild condition, reflecting its appearance under British Railways ownership. DCC ready with a 21-pin decoder socket, the locomotive is designed with metal sprung buffers and NEM tension lock couplers. History: This locomotive started out as 5901 when it emerged from Crewe Works in August 1933, but was later renumbered to 5540. It was rebuilt with a Stanier taper boiler in October 1947, which promoted it from power class ‘6P’ to ‘7P’. It became 45540 under BR in May 1948 and survived in service until condemned in April 1963 and was scrapped by July that year.  The locomotive’s name, transferred from withdrawn ‘Large Claughton’ 1161, was in honour of Sir Robert Turnbull, former General Manager of the LNWR, who was knighted in 1913. - OO Scale

LMS Patriot Class 5514 'Holyhead' LMS Lined Black This Hornby model of LMS ‘Patriot’ Class 4-6-0 No. 5514 ‘Holyhead’ is finished in accurate period detail as it appeared in the late 1930s. Designed for reliable performance on OO gauge layouts, the locomotive is DCC ready with a 21-pin decoder socket and if fitted with Metal sprung buffers and NEM tension lock couplers. History: Henry Fowler designed the ‘Patriot’ 4-6-0 for the LMS as an upgrade of the LNWR’s ‘Large Claughton’ Class for express passenger work. Built at both Crewe and Derby Works, 42 and ten respectively, 52 entered service between 1930 and 1934. ‘Holyhead’ was new from Crewe in September 1932, numbered 5983, but this was changed to 5514 in August 1938, as represented by the model.  The locomotive would later be rebuilt with a Stanier taper boiler in 1947, before becoming BR 45514, with withdrawal coming at Derby in May 1961, the first of the rebuilt ‘Patriots’ to be condemned. - OO Scale

GWR Saint Class 2920 'Saint David' BR Lined Black (Early) Of the 77 Saint Class members built by GWR between 1902 and 1913, 2920 ‘Saint David’ was one of the 47 that survived beyond nationalisation of Britain’s railways in 1948. Part of the third batch of 20 to be built in 1907, the locomotive was new to Cardiff Canton shed. It underwent several changes during its career, including the fitting of a superheated boiler in 1909 and outside steam pipes in December 1932. This model is presented in BR livery, the condition in which it operated through to its withdrawal in October 1953, by which point it was one of the last four still in service. This model was developed with the helpful guidance from the Didcot Railway Center who kindly gave us access to their archive of drawings and access to the Lady of Legend locomotive. The Saint class model features a powerful 5 pole skew wound motor, flickering firebox and is designed to be fully compatible with the HM7000 21-Pin decoder for full DCC and sound control. Hornby LNER Class A4 60016 'Silver King' BR (Early) Green (TT)

The LNER Gresley A4 is one of the most iconic express locomotives in Great Britain, with its streamlined casing a classic symbol of the attitude towards speed and design in the 1930s, which saw increased competition to the railways from road and air travel. The LNER Board knew that they had to make travel between the major cities faster, comfortable and more reliable. Nigel Gresley, the LNER's Chief Mechanical Officer, travelled on the Fliegende Hamburger diesel locomotive in Germany and was impressed by its streamlining, although he realized it was only efficient at high speeds. Gresley was certain that a modified A3 Pacific, with streamlining, could haul greater loads than other locomotives at the same speed or faster and a series of trials were conducted to confirm the A3's suitability. With the trials successfully completed, the LNER Board gave Gresley the go-ahead to create the "Silver Jubilee" streamlined trains, the first of the new streamlined A4s.The streamlining of the A4s' steam circuit, higher boiler pressure and extension of the firebox to create a combustion chamber made them more efficient than the A3 as they consumed less coal and water- especially later on when they were also fitted with a Kylchap double chimney. This improved their free steaming capabilities further. Their streamlined design not only made them capable of high speeds, but created an up draught of smoke, obscuring the driver's vision, a major problem on the new Class A4 engines. The story goes that during wind tunnel testing, after several unsuccessful efforts to get the smoke to lift clear, a thumbprint was inadvertently left on the clay model just behind the chimney. This succeeded in clearing the smoke and was incorporated into the final design. 2511 Silver King was the 3rd A4 locomotive to be built, designed to pull the Silver Jubilee service. The locomotive entered service in November 1935 in the unique LNER Silver livery designed for the service. Hornby LNER Class A3 60078 'Night Hawk' BR (Early) Green (TT)

While the A1 was a fantastic locomotive that served its purpose as intended, it became clear reasonably quickly that some modifications could be made that would greatly improve its performance. These modifications however were too significant to avoid reclassifying the locomotives and as such the A1 Felstead 2743 was the first to be withdrawn from service only a handful of years after it was introduced, emerging from its shed in August 1928 as the first A3 ‘Super Pacific.’ The newly designated A3 locomotives had an improved boiler, larger cylinders and a conversion from right to left hand drive. 27 of the class were built as A3 locomotives from the get go, with all of the in service A1 examples being converted before 1950, the last such example to undergo this transformation was the then BR numbered 60068 Sir Visto. Night Hawk first entered LNER service on the fairly pleasing 24th October 1924 as locomotive number 2577 as an A1 locomotive. Rebuilt in January 1944 to an A3, the locomotive would go in to be numbered 78, and then 60078 under BR. Night Hawk would go on to be withdrawn on the 22nd October 1962, almost making it a nice round 38 years in service, before being scrapped at Doncaster in 1963. - NEXT 18 DCC Decoder Socket - TT:120 Scale

LNER Azuma Class 801/2 801207 'Darlington' Train Pack (Rail200) The ‘Azuma’ Class 801/1 and 801/2 sets, were introduced on the East Coast Main Line between 2017 and 2020. They are a development of the Class 800 bi-mode trains in the Hitachi AT300 product range, produced at their Newton Aycliffe facility in the north-east, but unlike their bi-mode counterparts, the Class 801s are the purely electric version of the ‘Azuma’, although they are fitted with ‘emergency’ diesel engines to allow them to limp home in case of overhead power failure.  The Class 801/2s are the full nine-car length trains, whereas the 801/1s operate as shorter five-car sets, often used in pairs. The first of the full-length Class 801/2s ran in November 2019, entering service on front-line London King’s Cross-Edinburgh trains, allowing the bi-mode Class 800/1s to be cascaded onto King’s Cross-Aberdeen services, which in turn replaced the remaining InterCity 125 sets on that route. There are currently 30 Class 801/2 sets in operation. Five of which are named, including Set No. 801207, which on 14 January was unveiled by LNER to mark the 200th Anniversary year of the opening of the Stockton & Darlington Railway.  The power cars carry LNER, ‘Azuma’ and ‘Railway 200’ markings, with the legend ‘Darlington’ towards their front ends. The five-car pack includes powered PDTRBF (Pantograph Driving Trailer Restaurant Buffet First) and non-powered PDTS (Pantograph Driving Trailer Standard) cars, plus three matching coaches; two MS (Motor Standard) cars and a MF (Motor First) car. Following privatisation of Britain’s railways in 1996, the first franchise holder on the East Coast Main Line was GNER – Great North Eastern Railway – which operated the route until December 2007. Birth of the Railways Train Pack (Railway 200) Representing the formative years of steam-powered railways, these three locomotives were built between 1825 and 1838. The first is ‘Locomotion No. 1’, designed by George and Robert Stephenson. It was built at their factory in Newcastle for the opening of the Stockton & Darlington Railway, where it became the first steam locomotive to pull a passenger train on a public railway. In doing so, it became the first steam locomotive to both operate and haul a passenger-carrying train on a public railway in September 1825. 2025 marks the 200th anniversary. With the experience they gained, Robert Stephenson & Co. entered a design for the 1829 Rainhill Trials, held to find suitable motive power for the Liverpool & Manchester Railway. Their entry, ‘Rocket’, was the clear winner and formed the basis for future steam locomotive design on the L&MR, which opened the following year. By 1838, locomotive design had already moved on, and 0-4-2 No. 57 ‘Lion’, was one of a pair of ‘luggage’ locomotives built to a Stephenson patent by Todd, Kitson & Laird of Leeds, also for the L&MR. Please note: Locomotion No.1 comes fitted with a Next 18-pin socket, but due to the locomotive's size limitations, sadly it cannot take an HM7000 Next 18-pin decoder. GBRf, Class 67, Bo-Bo, 67027 The Class 67s were constructed by Alstom Meinfesa in Valencia between 1999 and 2000 for EWS. No. 67027 ‘Charlotte’ was named ‘Rising Star’ in 2003. Various changes took place over the years. In 2007, the ownership of the locomotive was transferred to DB Cargo UK. In 2014, the locomotive adopted the DB Cargo UK red livery, changing from the previous EWS red & yellow livery.  Ownership was again transferred to Colas Rail in 2017. To reflect this, the livery was amended to Colas Rail yellow, orange and black at the Toton TMD. The locomotive name changed to ‘Charlotte’ in the same year. Major modifications were required for the Class 43 power cars to make them compatible with the Mk3 coaches. These included changing the train supply from three-phase to 1,000V conventional ETS, fitting jumper connections, changing the central door locking system and more modifications to the couplings and electrical systems. Grand Central launched their new London King’s Cross to Sunderland passenger service on 18 December 2007. No. 43465 was outshopped from Crewe Works in October 1977 as 43065 in an InterCity Blue and Grey livery. The locomotive entered traffic straight after at Heaton. Not long after, it was repainted into an InterCity Swallow livery. In the late 1980s, 43065 was one of eight power cars fitted with buffers and TDM multiple working equipment to make sure it could work with brand new Class 91 electric locomotives using Mk3 rolling stock. Grand Central acquired 43065 and refurbished the locomotive at Brush Traction in 2010.  It faced a renumbering change to 43465 and acquired a new Grand Central black and orange striped livery. In 2017, the Grand Central Class 43 locomotives were purchased by East Midlands Trains with the last Grand Central HST service commencing on New Year’s Eve. By 2018, 43465 was painted in an East Midlands Trains blue livery with red and orange stripes. This livery was updated for the ex-Grand Central HSTs by featuring a deeper blue gradient. 43365 is currently in service as a Rail Adventure power car and was part of Rail Adventure’s first dive onto British rails, with the company previously only being based out of Germany. No. 43484 was outshopped from Crewe Works on 25 February 1978 in a BR InterCity blue and yellow livery and was also part of unit 254015. The locomotive entered service in April of the same year. The final regular Southern 4-VEP service took place in August 2005, while Southern 4-VEP operations came to a final end with the Sussex Slammer rail tour occurring in November.

BR, W1 Class 'Hush Hush' Streamlined, 4-6-4, 60700 Includes: - British Railways branding in Gill Sans Font - Garter Blue livery - Accessory bag (drain cocks, pipes) - 2x extra trailing wheels for the Cartazzi truck (if your layout has sufficient curvature) - Accurate cab detail - Double Kylchap double blast-pipe arrangement - Streamlined Non corridor tender type - 21 Pin DCC Decoder Socket - Era 5 - OO scale Locomotive information and history: Having completed nearly 90,000 miles of test running since new, Sir Nigel Gresley's W1 4-6-4 No. 10000 entered Darlington Works on 21 August 1935 for what was anticipated to be a major overhaul and modification. During this period Gresley decided that it was time to rebuild 10000 as a three cylinder locomotive with a conventional firetube boiler. Subsequently, 10000 was moved to the Doncaster Works on 13 October 1936 and this is where the first drawing for the modification were being prepared. When 10000 was finally released from Doncaster Works in November 1937, it was a significantly different locomotive, being fitted with a diagram 111 boiler that was very similar to the diagram 108 boiler fitted to No. 2006 'Wolf of Badenoch', and with a streamlined casing to the same pattern as the A4 class. As many components as possible from the original W1 were used in the rebuild, including the frames, which were shortened by 1 ½ feet at the front end. Other items, where needed, were sourced from the A4 class, the A3 class or, like the front bogie, from the B17 and an experimental double Kylchap blastpipe and chimney was fitted. The locomotive was turned out in Garter Blue as per some of the A4's (in 1937 this became a standard livery). The cab, while similar to that of the A4 class, 60700 was considerably longer and this led to the locomotive's tender's coal delivery chute having to be lengthened to compensate for the extra distance from the firebox doors. The original tender was retained, but with superficial modifications, such as to the curvature of the front plates and the addition of streamlined plating to the front and rear, although this was partially removed just a year later in 1938. Up to the outbreak of war in 1939 and during the war years, 10000 worked mainly on Kings Cross main line duties and with its power and smooth riding it was a popular engine with the LNER's drivers, though less so with the firemen due to the distance between the shovelling plate and the firehole door. The locomotive also became more 'fitter' friendly after April 1942 when the skirting was removed from ahead and behind the outside cylinders to improve access in wartime conditions. At this time the 10000 was painted in wartime Black livery and with only 'N E' on the tender sides. By 1946 and now repainted in Garter blue livery, the corridor tender was swapped for the streamlined non-corridor tender from 4462 (BR 60004) William Whitelaw and the locomotive was engaged in more varied duties, working occasional passenger services to Leeds and Cambridge from Kings Cross alongside the occasional 'lodging' turns to Newcastle. By 1948 under the new British Railways, the locomotive received the number 60700 and "British Railways" insignia on the tender in Gills Sans font. Following allocation to Doncaster on 25 October 1953, 60700 became a more frequent visitor to Leeds and also worked turns to Sheffield, as well as hauling Doncaster to Peterborough passenger services and various braked goods trains. In a similar circumstance to 10000 never receiving its proposed name of 'British Enterprise' in November 1929, 60700 never received its intended name of 'Pegasus', for which the nameplates were cast on 13 April 1951. At this time the locomotive lost its Garter Blue livery for the new "Express Passenger Blue" with white and black lining. After an interesting and slightly troubled life, the locomotive was scrapped at its Darlington birthplace in 1959. Interesting to note is that as 60700 was going into works for scrapping, the original marine boiler the locomotive was fitted with, had been perched on bricks as steam raising boiler outside the works and outlasted the locomotive by a few years.

Hornby BR, Class 9F, 2-10-0, 92002 - Era 4

BR, Class 9F, 2-10-0, 92002 Includes: - BR Black livery - Pipework represented in copper or heat lagging - Detailed cab interior - Accessory bag includes steam cocks - Removable coal load - 21 Pin DCC Decoder Socket - Era 4 - OO scale Locomotive information: The British Railways Standard 9F Class was a 2-10-0 steam locomotive, the last of the standardised BR designs. The Robert Riddles design was intended as a long distance heavy express freight locomotive. In total 251 of the class were produced between January 1954 and March 1960, with the final locomotive No. 92220 'Evening Star' being the last steam locomotive built by British Railways. The huge length of the 10 coupled driving wheels proved problematic when faced with tight curves, a situation that freight haulage would make inevitable. A solution was found by removing the flanges from the centre driving wheel and reducing the size on the flanges on the second and fourth driving axle's wheels.  Riddles had chosen the 2-10-0 wheel configuration in-order to spread the load of the boiler over a greater area. This meant that the boiler had to be raised considerably compared to other designs to allow the firebox to sit above the trailing driving wheels. As a result, the 9F features a distinctive void between the suspended boiler and the footplate. In operation the class proved extremely versatile. Not only did the 9F excel as a freight locomotive, but when required it also succeeded as a passenger locomotive. Reports even suggest that when 92220 'Evening Star' was used to pull the Red Dragon express service between Cardiff and London it was forced to delay its arrival to allow the restaurant services to be completed, having outperformed the normal Britannia Class locomotives used on the service.  This was not the only time 9Fs had been recorded outperforming dedicated express locomotives and on such services the locomotives were capable of running at over 90mph. This combination of high speed, fast acceleration and powerful hauling capabilities mean that many consider the class to be pinnacle of British steam locomotive design. Locomotive numbers 92165-92167 were built with a mechanical stoker. This system used a helical screw to move coal from the tender straight into the firebox. This meant that coal could be burnt a faster rate than a fireman could maintain otherwise.  Systems like this proved extremely useful on long distance American railways however in Britain it was rare for a locomotive to require such as high rate of coal delivery over a long period of time meaning that a good fireman could prove just as effective. Locomotive 92002 was the third such locomotive to be constructed by BR, being built at Crewe in 1954. The locomotive was outshopped with the BR1G tender and in the usual BR black colour scheme. The locomotive would go on to be one of the 106 locomotives withdrawn in 1967, the locomotive would not be preserved.

BR, Class 60, Co-Co, 60001 'Steadfast' No. 60001, the first of the Class 60s to be delivered, was handed over to British Rail in 1989 after being ordered only 13 months earlier. The locomotive was named 'Steadfast' as the result of a suggestion competition. Since 1975 these powerful Bo-Bo locomotives have moved passengers across the country for business and for leisure, most ironically in their various BR guises. The Class 43 persists to this day as a stalwart of the rails under various operators including the mainline serving GWR, mainline maintaining Network Rail and some private operators such as Locomotive Services Limited on their Blue Pullman services.  This train pack, designed to commemorate the Platinum Jubilee of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II depicts the Class 43 as they have never been seen before, in a livery questioning exactly how the legendary LNER would celebrate this special occasion if they were still operating, and nationalisation had never occurred. It would be nice to think that if the big four were never nationalised that we would still be able to see steam regularly on the mainline however this view is shrouded in nostalgia and ignores the operational benefits that diesel locomotives bring. If the LNER operated continuously into the modern era, this may be how they would mark this special occasion. The power cars in this set, while adorned with numbers that have been assigned to full size units, have had numbers chosen to celebrate prominent years of the queen’s reign. 43052 has been chosen as part of the numbering pattern for the full size examples and 52 for the year of the coronation, and 43022 follows the same pattern but for this very special year of Her Majesties reign.
