Class 23 'Baby Deltic' H/code Box D5901 BR Green (SYP)
Another type that has never been produced in N scale, the new EFE Rail models tell the story of this Class of ten locomotives that were ordered from English Electric as part of BR’s 1955 Modernisation Plan. Despite a service life spanning little more than ten years, the Baby Deltics have an interesting past; being rebuilt after just a few short years in service and emerging again with a distinct new look before their premature demise.
The EFE Rail models have been designed to portray the real locomotives throughout their working lives so two bodyshells have been produced, one with headcode discs for the as-built examples and a second with central headcode panels. Boasting injection moulded bodyshells with fine relief detail and precision engraving, all of the locomotive’s defining features are recreated in miniature. Separate metal handrails are added aside each cab door and on the nose ends, whilst below the solebar separate tanks are fitted and the bogies are crafted with full brake and suspension detail.
Powered by a coreless motor, DCC provision comes in the form of a Next18 decoder socket and space is provided for a speaker for those wishing to add sound. Directional lights are fitted and a switch is provided on the PCB to turn off the red tail lights, or this can be done via a function key when a DCC decoder is fitted.

Class 23 'Baby Deltic' H/code Box D5905 BR Green (SYP)

Class 23 'Baby Deltic' Disc Headcode D5909 BR Green (Late)

GWR 'Modified Hall' 6960 'Raveningham Hall' GWR Lined Green
The Great Western Railway (GWR) was famous for its variety of 4-6-0 steam locomotive classes, and none were more numerous and successful than the 49XX ‘Hall’ Class. The type was later developed to create the 6959 ‘Modified Hall’ Class which continued the successes of the ‘Halls’, operating from the final years of the GWR and throughout the British Railways period until steam ended on the Western Region in December 1965 yet N scale models of these iconic machines have never been produced, until now!
Developed alongside the brand new ‘Halls’ for the Graham Farish range, these masterpieces in miniature have been created through extensive research and detailed surveys of the preserved locomotives, of which there are several. The mixed traffic machines were found across the GWR network and beyond.

GWR 'Modified Hall' 7904 'Fountains Hall' BR Lined Black
Constructed from a multitude of high-fidelity parts and decorated with an exquisite paint finish, the new Graham Farish ‘Modified Hall’ has an impressive technical specification to match. Employing a powerful coreless motor to drive the wheels through a diecast metal gearbox, electrical pickup comes from all driving and tender wheels and separate metal bearings are fitted to the driving wheel axles assuring smooth and reliable running. The tender houses a speaker and Next18 DCC decoder socket, making it easy to add sound

LB&SCR E4 Tank 32473 BR Lined Black (Early Emblem)
The E4 Class 0-6-2 Radial Tank was one of the most successful and versatile tank locomotives that the Southern Railway inherited upon Grouping in 1923, with all 75 locomotives that the London, Brighton & South Coast Railway had constructed around the turn of the century passing to the SR, and all but one would make it to BR ownership as well. The Bachmann Branchline model of the E4 is just as versatile, featuring diecast metal construction supplemented with high-fidelity injection moulded parts to create a model as strong and capable as its prototype. What’s more, the Branchline E4 has been upgraded for 2025 and now features a Next18 DCC decoder socket and provision for a speaker, allowing SOUND FITTED models to be offered for the first time.

Class 56 '56031' "Merehead" BR Dutch Departmental
The British Rail Class 56 is a type of diesel locomotive designed for heavy freight work. It is a Type 5 locomotive, with a Ruston-Paxman power unit developing 3,250 bhp (2,423 kW), and has a Co-Co wheel arrangement. Enthusiasts nicknamed them "Gridirons" (or "Grids" for short), due to the grid like horn cover on the locomotive's cab ends fitted to nos. 56056 onwards. Under its Romanian railway factory nomenclature, the locomotive was named Electroputere LDE 3500, with LDE coming from Locomtiva Diesel-Electrica (Diesel-Electric locomotive) and the 3500 being the planned horsepower output.
The Class 56 fleet was introduced between 1976 and 1984, a total of 135 examples were manufactured. The first 30 locomotives (56001 - 56030, factory classification LDE3500) were built by Electroputere in Romania, but these typically suffered from poor construction standards and many were withdrawn from service early for extensive rebuilding before re-entering revenue service.[3] The remaining 105 locomotives were built by British Rail Engineering Limited (BREL) at Doncaster Works (56031 to 56115) and Crewe Works (56116 to 56135).
1:148 Scale model of a Class 56 diesel locomotive decorated in Railfreight Metals livery. These models have been specially commissioned by Gaugemaster and form part of the Gaugemaster Collection Series.
These models feature lots of era specific details and markings and lots of external body details as modelled on the prototype.

Class 56 '56032' "County of South Glamorgan" RF Metals

The Southern Region West Country and Battle of Britain classes with their 4-6-2 wheel arrangement were also known as Light Pacifics or informally as Spam Cans due to their unorthodox appearance. The class was designed by Oliver Bulleid and developed to be cheaper and easier to build using much of the innovations developed during wartime.
The Battle of Britain Class and its sister, the Merchant Navy Class were the first to use welded steel in the manufacture of many key components, which reduced weight and building time. In all 110 were built between 1945 and 1950 and continued into service until the end of the steam era on the Southern Region in 1967. Due to some initial design limitations, fifty of the class were rebuilt during the late 1950s, after which they resembled the rebuilt Merchant Navy Class. Twenty of the class survive into preservation.

SR BOB Class '34051' "Winston Churchill" BR Green (Late)
Features:

The Class 66 is a type of Co-Co heavy freight locomotive and was originally ordered by EWS to replace and update the freight fleet post privatisation in 1996. 250 Class 66s were ordered from General Motors Electromotive Division (EMD) and these were built in London, Ontario, Canada. Subsequent freight operators, Freightliner, GB Railfreight and Direct Rail Services (DRS) also ordered batches of these locomotives. Overall the locomotive has been successful in service, offering improved reliability and performance over its predecessors. However the locomotive has also had its critics, partly due to the comfort the design offered drivers and staff and probably their ubiquity, ousting many different types of British built locomotives commonly seen prior to its commissioning. As a testament to the commercial success of the Class 66, it has been certified for use in many European countries (known as the Series 66) and can be seen commonly in Germany, Poland and Sweden amongst others. During its long service, the locomotive has been modified many times including low emission variants for greener running and highly geared models for hauling heavier loads albeit at slower speeds. The Class 66 is still in operation and is used by DB, GBRf, Freightliner, DRS and Colas Rail.

Class 66 '66734' "Platinum Jubilee" GBRf Jubilee Pink

LSWR Adams T3 560 SR Lined Maunsell Green
The first LSWR T3 Class locomotive was built in 1892 and 125 years later, the T3 was thrown into the spotlight when the National Railway Museum donated the sole preserved example, No. 563, to the Swanage Railway Trust. Ever since this controversial move there has been a desire to see a OO scale model of this Victorian masterpiece, and now, we are delighted to fulfil those wishes with this brand-new model developed for Bachmann’s EFE Rail range.
Employing a large number of diecast metal components to provide the optimal weight distribution needed for this 4-4-0 locomotive to perform at its best, the EFE Rail T3 is powered by a five pole motor and flywheel which is geared to the rear driving axle. DCC provision comes in the form of a Next18 decoder socket mounted in the tender, where a speaker is also fitted, meanwhile within the cab of the model a firebox lighting system has been installed which operates on both analogue and DCC.
An innovative loco-to-tender coupling design provides both integral electrical connections and a close coupling feature, whilst at either end of the model NEM coupling pockets are fitted and sprung metal buffers are mounted on each bufferbeam. Each model sports an array of locomotive- and era-specific detailing as appropriate, all of which is highlighted by the ornate livery application.

Hunslet Austerity VF5300 NCB North East 59
This Austerity was another wartime product, this time from the Vulcan foundry, Newton-le-Willows. It was completed in 1945 and allocated the WD number 75310. Following war dept service, the locomotive was purchased by the NCB and allocated to number 6 area, North West Durham. Particular to this area is the cut back cabs on all locomotives for working the restricted clearance of the tunnel on the entrance to Lambton coal drops at the port of Sunderland. Another smaller feature on this locomotive was the relocation of the injectors to above the running plate ahead of the cab. Both of these features are faithfully recreated on the model

LNER V2 60845 BR Lined Black (Early Emblem)
Some twenty years since the V2 was first produced in N scale by Graham Farish, this all-new model of the LNER Mixed Traffic icon is made to standards not even dreamt of twenty years ago. Often described as ‘the engines that won the war’, these new Graham Farish models are sure to win the heart of any discerning N scale enthusiast. Depicting one of the LNER’s most successful steam locomotive designs, this masterpiece in miniature captures the look and the character of the prototype to a tee. With highly detailed mouldings and many separate parts used on both the locomotive and tender, including era- and prototype-specific detailing to allow accurate models of any given class member throughout their working lives, the performance of these new V2s is just as impressive as their appearance.
A powerful coreless motor and flywheel is incorporated into the diecast locomotive chassis, powering the driving wheels which run in separate metal bearings. With electrical pickup from the driving wheels and tender wheels and the option to have traction tyres fitted to one driving wheelset, this new V2 is on a steady footing as soon as it hits the rails. With a Next18 DCC decoder socket and pre-fitted speaker located in the tender, this model is future proofed for those wishing to operate on DCC, with or without sound. What’s more, a SOUND FITTED version is also available providing realistic sound effects on both analogue and DCC straight out of the box!

LNER V2 60847 'St Peter's School' BR Lined Green (Late Crest) 60847

Baguley-Drewry 70hp Diesel ICI Orange & Grey
The diminutive Baguley-Drewry marks Bachmann’s first foray into the world of narrow gauge diesels for the Bachmann Narrow Gauge OO9 scale range. These 70 horsepower machines were originally built for use at Royal Naval Armament Depots (RNAD) which employed narrow gauge networks to move armaments between storage locations and transhipment sites. The perfect complement to the Bachmann Narrow Gauge RNAD Wagons, these diesel locomotives pack a lot into a small space with a high proportion of diecast parts to provide the 4-wheel locomotives with a running performance befitting the prototype. Several details are fitted separately, including the air filter mounted on top of the bonnet, headlights (non-functional) at the front and rear of the cab, windscreen wipers and, inside the cab, chairs and controls are modelled too.
The coreless motor, which is fitted with a flywheel, provides drive to both axles – each of which run in separate metal bearings. Electrical pick-up comes from all wheels whilst the couplings are mounted into NEM coupling pockets – these can be removed and the bufferbeams swapped out for fully detailed alternatives that do not feature the cut-outs required for the OO9 coupling.
All of this detail is brought to live by the livery application which uses authentic colours, logos and typefaces to portray a locomotive in use with industrial giant ICI. The maker’s name is carried on the front of the locomotive whist the window frames are picked out in silver and the cab interior is decorated, but the icing on the cake for this model is the ‘wasp stripes’ at either which really bring it to life.

Pristine ICI Orange & Grey livery

IVATT 2MT HISTORY:
Designed by H. G. Ivatt for the London, Midland & Scottish Railway (LMS), 128 of these Class 2 Moguls were built for light freight and passenger duties. With construction commencing in 1946, just twenty examples were built by the LMS and the remaining 108 were outshopped by British Railways following Nationalisation in 1948. The construction programme was completed in 1952 and these Mixed Traffic locomotives would go on to operate on all the BR regions, with the exception of the Southern. Light axle loadings allowed the Ivatt 2MTs to be used on most routes including branch lines, where their almost enclosed cabs made them ideal for working tender first when no turning facilities existed. The design provided the basis for the BR Standard Class 2MT 2-6-0, and the two are very similar in appearance, with the Standard version having only a modified cab and tender profile to allow unrestricted route availability across the British network.
With BR progressively closing more and more branch lines, and rationalising others – often employing new diesel multiple units to provide a more economical passenger service – duties for small locomotives like the Ivatt 2MTs began to disappear and the decline of the class began in 1961 when the first example was withdrawn. The Mogul’s versatility and its relatively modern design however ensured that many examples were still in traffic until the mid-1960s, but by 1967 all had been withdrawn. Thankfully, seven Ivatt 2MT have been preserved and the type is an ideal source of motive power for many of the trains running on heritage railways today.

Thomas The Tank Engine
Thomas is a blue six-wheeled (0-6-0 Tank) steam engine with the number 1 painted on his side tanks. Thomas first appeared in 1946 in the 2nd book in Reverend Wilbert Awdry's The Railway Series, entitled 'Thomas the Tank Engine,' and he is the principal character in the 4 stories contained in the book. Thomas's best friends are Percy and Toby. He works on a branch line with his coaches Annie and Clarabel.
All of the locomotives in The Railway Series are based on real historical engines; Thomas has a resemblance to the London, Brighton & South Coast Railway's E2 class of 0-6-0 tank designed by Lawson Billinton in 1913.
