Buidling information:
Opened in 1837, Tan-y-Bwlch Station was located on an S bend section of the Ffestiniog Railway, roughly half way between Blaenau Ffestiniog and Porthmadog. Tan-Y-Bwlch quickly became popular with early passengers, exploring the local woods.
The station was in regular use until 1939, when it eventually closed. However in 1958 with the early preservation movement, the station reopened and became the early terminus of the line, whilst the onward section to Porthmadog was rebuilt. Today it is again a popular stopping place for visitors to the local woods.
