Livestock (See Modelscene Cows Ref. 5179, Sheep and Lambs Ref. 5177, Pigs Ref. 5176, and Horses Ref. 5178) was conveyed on British railways until around 1973, although many cattle docks remained in place unused, becoming overgrown - an interesting scenic feature. Class 158 2-Car DMU 158856 Central Trains The Class 158 is one of British Rail’s most successful second generation Diesel Multiple Units (DMUs); first introduced in 1989, the entire fleet remains in traffic to this day. Over the years many colourful liveries have adorned the units, none more so that the vivid green scheme of Central Trains and one such unit is depicted by this Bachmann Branchline model. The pinnacle of OO scale second generation DMUs, the Branchline Class 158 combines high fidelity bodyshells with an underframe that’s adorned with separate components depicting the engines, electrical equipment, and auxiliary gear. Overall the locomotive has been successful in service, offering improved reliability and performance over its predecessors. Ferguson Tea Grey Harry Ferguson designed this agricultural tractor, which proved to be one of his most successful inventions which he introduced in 1946. The TE stood for Tractor England while the Model A signified Harry Ferguson’s ‘suction side’ hydraulic control system. The ‘Little Grey Fergie’ was manufactured in Huddersfield until 1956 by the David Brown Company, a name also synonymous with farm vehicles. GCR 9J (J11) 64305 BR Black (Early Emblem) The Great Central Railway was a big mover of goods and amongst the locomotives it built for this purpose were the 9J 0-6-0s. Upon becoming part of the LNER in 1924 the 9Js were reclassified as J11s and this designation stayed remained into British Railways life and until withdrawal. Nicknamed ‘Pom Poms’ because their exhaust noise sounded very similar to the guns of the same name, these freight workhorses are replicated in OO scale by Bachmann Branchline. The J11s carried all the hallmarks of a locomotive designed by the GCR’s Chief Mechanical Engineer John G. Robinson and these features are replicated on the Branchline model using a precision moulded boiler, smokebox and firebox mounted on a diecast metal running plate. The distinctive Robinson cab is another high-fidelity moulding, within which boiler backhead is replicated using an array of separately fitted pipework, controls and dials, all of which are enhanced further with bespoke decoration. The GCR tender has a distinctive look too with its high capacity and flared top edges, and again these trademark features are captured in miniature using high-fidelity mouldings. Coupling to the locomotive via a drawbar that is adjustable to suit individual layout conditions, electrical connections are integrated into it and a hinged fallplate is also fitted to the tender. Across the model separate components are added, from the metal handrails and sprung metal buffers, to the lamp irons at the front and rear, to complete the look of this freight machine. The locomotive’s diecast chassis is enhanced with brake blocks, brake rigging and sandboxes with separate wire sandpipes, whilst between the frames a representation of the inside motion is present. The black colour scheme is replicated with the usual care and attention that you expect from Bachmann Branchline, resulting in a paint finish that is rich and consistent throughout. Details like the running number, plates and plaques are then added using precision printing techniques for full authenticity. Land Rover Series II LWB Canvas Bronze Green Includes: - Diecast model - Display stand - TT Scale Vehicle information: The Land Rover Series II was launched in 1958, being superseded by the Series IIA in 1961. The off road Land Rover came with a number of variants, including 2-door or 4-door option; petrol or diesel; long or short wheel base; and selectable two or four wheel drive feature. The Series II was the first vehicle to use the well-known 2.25 litre petrol engine, which produced 72 hp and was closely related to the 2.0 litre diesel unit still in use today. The Series II also lent itself to a variety of uses in both rural and urban life. Here we see it in 120 scale as the two door, long wheel base version with canvas back, finished in the signature bronze green which Land Rover adopted across their whole range past and present. The canvas effect is moulded in a lighter muted green than the body. Note the specially applied black mask behind the distinctive LR radiator grille. The interior is bronze green with black fittings. LMS 10000 BR Black (Early) The LMS ‘Twins’ – Nos. 10000 and 10001 – were the very first mainline diesel locomotives built in the UK and this Bachmann Branchline model tells the story of No. 10000 during its time working on the Southern Region. Built by the LMS and so becoming part of the Midland Region’s fleet under BR, after five years in traffic the ‘Twins’ were sent to the Southern Region (SR) between 1953 and 1955 for trails alongside the SR’s own prototype diesels. To work on the SR, additional headcode lights and brackets were fitted to suit the Southern 6 position headcode system as displayed on this model of No. 10000, which is depicted in its striking black and silver livery with early emblems. The Bachmann Branchline model is a highly detailed replica of the pioneering prototype, adorned with numerous separately fitted components to accurately capture the appearance of this iconic machine. The livery application captures the splendour of this elegant locomotive, whilst engine room detailing has been replicated through the bodyside windows for the first time. Inside, the proven combination of a five pole motor and twin flywheels, driving both bogies and with all-wheel drive will provide enough power for any prototypical train. This model of No. 9446 forms part of our new Railway Celebrations range and depicts the locomotive that took part in the 100th Anniversary celebrations of the opening of the Stockton & Darlington Railway. In 1925, to mark the centenary, a celebration of railways featuring locomotives from the past century was put on by the London & North Eastern Railway (LNER). Opened by the Duke and Duchess of York – later King Geroge VI and Queen Elizabeth – a procession of locomotives took place over some six miles of line between Stockton and Darlington, passing the royal grandstand and delighting the hundreds of thousands of onlookers who turned out to witness the celebrations. The parade of 53 locomotives intended to showcase the evolution of the steam locomotive, from the early examples to modern designs. The first London & North Western Railway (LNWR) 0-8-0 locomotives were built in 1893, however the G2 was somewhat younger, being built between 1921 and 1922 and No. 9446 was one of 60 locomotives built to this design at Crewe Works. Mini Tartan Red/Union Jack The Classic Mini is one of the iconic vehicles of the late 1950s and 1960s, launched in 1959 and created by Sir Alec Issigonis for Austin Motors. It was quite revolutionary for its time, being small, economical, easy to drive and at 10 ft long, parking was no problem. For the same reasons, the Mini remains a favourite even today, loved by celebrities, cult car enthusiasts and the everyday motorist. Its launch in 1:120 scale replicates its larger Oxford predecessors in exact detail. Registered NLG 465B from 1964, our Austin Mini Cooper appears in bright red with a patriotic Union Flag masked red, white and blue on the roof. Routemaster London Transport (TT)
Routemaster London Transport The Routemaster was first introduced in the early 50s by London Transport.It emerged as the most popular double decker bus of all time. As one man operated buses came more into use , some of the Routemasters were sold off to a variety of fleets throughout the U.K. Some vehicles were even exported for use in other countries. This history of Oxford Diecast and production in Swansea means the lineage of this model is quite interesting. Many rememember the Corgi (Mettoy) Routemaster that was manufactured in huge numbers. Back in the 1970's when ever we were short of production orders, we just inserted 250,000 buses into the programme. I recall many punch ups with the sales force, who would object strongly as they had the reponsibility of selling whatever was made. Needles to say when they were sold out and the warehouse was empty of Routemasters, they would quickly criticise the factory ! The Mettoy (Corgi) Routemaster was copied by many of the Hong Kong and Chinese manufacturers over the years. My favourite recollection was seeing a terrible copy by an Indian manufacturer. They had bought a sample, but the roof was not straight, there was a 'hump' on the top at the rear; on an internal cavity of the mould there was an insert that came lose from time to time - some production had slipped through with the 'hump' (probably night shhift) and that is what the Indian company had purchased for their sample. In London there was a company called Seener, named after the owner, we tooled up a version for him. He wanted a smaller model around 15/20% smaller to save costs, so we chose 1:76 scale - a lucky scale for Oxford. These carried the brand name SEEROL, named after the owners son ROLand SEEner. We made around 500,000 of these during the 1980's. The tooling eventually fell to pieces and the newly produced Oxford 1:76 variant appeared - it had for once wheel hubs that looked correct. - TT:120 Scale

Scammell Mechanical Horse Van Trailer LNER (TT) Includes: - Diecast model - Display stand - TT Scale Vehicle information: Oxford railway enthusiasts have already been treated to this model in 1:76 scale and here it is in the smaller scale in exactly the same detail. The concept for the Scammell Mechanical Horse was devised in the early 1930s by Napier & Son. The tractor unit and detachable back was a replacement for horse-drawn vehicles and Scammell Lorries Ltd so liked the idea they purchased the 3-wheeled design and following some refinements, this strong and sturdy vehicle became the favoured transport for pulling loads of several tons. A firm favourite with railway companies because of its manoeuvrability, it was a familiar sight in railway yards in particular, including LNER. Here we see it as one of their Express Parcel Service vans, decorated in a rich dark blue with black chassis and roof and the model features a red band along the skirt of the trailer. The interesting artwork on the trailer is a scene from the Lanark Steel Works. The 1930s vintage vehicle is registered EGT 886.

VW T2 Bus w/ Surfboards Fiord Blue/Arcona White (TT)
The VW T2 was a camper and a minibus combined, which the German manufacturer launched in 1968. Sporting a larger interior, a bigger engine and a one-piece windscreen, it also came with a number of versatile body options and you will recall its Oxford Diecast launch as a simple van in Peru Green. The two-tone vehicle is painted a muted blue with off white roof and upper body. The bumpers and wheel rims also echo the off white colour scheme. Registered EOG 400K from 1971, our model has two surfboards on the roof, carried on a tan slatted roof rack with a silver frame. The interior of our van is also the same muted blue as the body. Summer might have faded but this little van is already to go and find some surf, whatever the weather. - TT:120 Scale

Wickham Type 27 Trolley Car BR Departmental Yellow Wasp Stripes The Wickham Trolley is undoubtedly the smallest powered model that can be found in the Bachmann Branchline OO Scale range yet still, this impressive model still packs a punch with a high level of detail and a smooth drive mechanism making this a striking addition to any OO collection. The Branchline model combines the trolley car, with its open cabin and seating for several personnel, with a trailer and it is here that the motor and mechanism is located, cleverly concealed by a ballast/spoil load. The trailer also sports a diecast metal chassis, with separate metal bearings fitted to the two axles and the gearing from the coreless motor to the driving axle is housed in a diecast metal gearbox. The driven wheelset is also fitted with traction tyres for assured running from this diminutive model. The semi-permanent coupling between the trolley and trailer allows electrical connections to be carried between the two, so that all eight wheels of the model can be equipped with pickups. With its wheels on full show, it’s easy to see that these have been replicated faithfully with the correct pattern and profile and brakes are added separately too. Meanwhile the trolley car itself has glazed windscreens with a separate windscreen wiper, headlights at the front and rear (non-functional), and a representation of the sheeting (that would have supposedly provided riders with protection from inclement weather!) rolled up and stowed along the roof edge.
